Hallmark mystery shocker. This one turned out to be rather good.
LA actress Hadley Warner is the star of a long running crime show. Now the series has been canned and she moves with her kids to a small Colorado town.
Soon as they arrive, Hadley finds a dead man who has recently gone missing.
It was meant to look like a parachute accident but the hunky local cop Detective Shawn Caden determines it was murder because of a bullet wound.
Hadley just has to interfere and use the police procedural skills gleaned from her shows. She even assembles a crew together with her kids and a superfan of her canned series.
The movie benefits with some good interplay between the characters. The murder mystery had a few red herring, plausible suspects and even some tension.
A cut above the usual fare.

A funny pairing of the actress and hometown boy. She's the wild and he's the calm and both will eventual balance each other out (hopefully).
The Lead plays a fiery Hollywood type relocating and the cop plays well as the quiet thinker with his own dream *that I won't spoil but is sweet.
Overall, this is probably the most laughter I've had in Hallmark film. I had stumbled on it when my wife was watching and laughing. She made me stay for the rest and was cracking up soon too.
I wasn't familiar with the lead but am now a fan. She was fun, a good mom, and struggling to fit in. Being from a small town myself, I loved how they pulled off the small town and strange cast of characters.
We are both interested to see more about the kids lives and lead's backstory. And also more time with Detective in next one overall.
8 out of 10 for me. And not just for the goat scream vids haha.

The actors seemed to have great rapport, and it was clear that they enjoyed their roles and on-screen interactions. Voices were clear and strong and the pace of the movie was just right. It was a very enjoyable movie with characters you could find empathy with.
The plot was just complex enough to be easy to follow, and the few red herrings in the mix were fun to follow through. I though each of the actors made the most of their character and put in good performances that made a viewer feel the where honest and invested in their roles.
I hope there are more movies in this series to flesh out the developing characters and relationships.
This is well above the average Hallmark production.

I think this is one of the best Hallmark movies I have seen. I love the characters and the lead actors were great. The acting from all the actors, even the minor ones, was excellent. Usually, in Hallmark movies, there is at least one actor who is not good but not this one. I liked the interplay between the leads.
I especially liked the humor. Some of the lead actresses comments were hilarious, like when she is calling for her assistant and she isn't there. I wish more movies added humor to their scripts.
The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because I guessed who the murderer was, so was not surprised when they were revealed. I hope this is a series and more of these are made.

I didn't expect so many laughs in this one.
Hadley as the Hollywood actress moving to small town and having a hard time adjusting at first drew the most fun on this one for me.
All of the characters were really different and quirky with weird lovable ways.
I also loved her trying to find out just not the mystery but detectives secret. Don't worry I won't spoil it.
The back and forth between her and the cop had me smiling all the way up until their last lines. They're hopefully going to end up together of course but when? Knowing hallmark and murder she baked we may have some waiting to do.
But not too long okay?

I'll start off saying that I've been a fan of all things Hallmark for years...back to the time when there was a Gold Crown store in every plaza and mall. I especially have loved most of the Hallmark mysteries and even have some of the DVD sets. As for "Crime Time," I won't plan to watch any more of these, should they continue to produce more of these. Luke and several of the others are excellent as usual, but several of the characters are too over the top. Overexaggerated overacting to me isn't quirky, it's just plain bad. I think Mel said it best during the trivia scene, "Miss Crime, it's time for you to go."

Forget this one.
I don't think I have ever been as annoyed by a character. Lyndie Greenwood plays an actress who retires to Colorado with her family when her long-running crime series comes to an end.
Talk about over the top and hyper - she gives it new meaning. And she never shuts up. She is absolutely exhausting and annoying. Not only that, she has all the answers based on no evidence.
The ending was blah.
I say drop this one and keep on developing the better shows. Mystery Lane, Nikki & Nora, etc. Bring back my Garage Sale Mysteries with a new star if you must. Bring back Gourmet Detective and Morning Show.

I have no idea why this currently has a pretty low rating, because I absolutely loved this movie. I don't typically enjoy the vast majority of Hallmark's mystery movies. They tend to take themselves too seriously, leaving my eyes rolled back, and my face naturally cringing. Crimetime was different, though, not one eye roll or cringe to be found, from me!
If you are like me, and get annoyed by the Hallmark mysteries that have a civilian jump into play detective, without any cause or being asked, give this movie a try! While our leading lady does play an actress, she didn't join the investigation on her own accord. She even pushes back, not wanting to join it, at first. Those small script changes made this movie 10x more enjoyable for me to watch.
*I just checked, and the Crimetime writer also wrote, Haunted Harmony: Murder in G Major, which was one of my favorite movies last year; so I'm not surprised I love Crimetime so much! 👏👏👏
The cast was adorable, and everyone portrayed their characters, beautifully. Great chemistry throughout!
Crimetime is perfect for those who, like me, enjoy the more quirky mysteries, such as Haunted Harmony and Dancing Detective. 10/10 - no notes!

This was so formulaic, trite and boring that I had it entirely figured out from the beginning. It had nothing to set it apart from every other lay-person-solves-crimes show, not even a cute gimmick, or a fascinating secondary character. Even the lead's relationship with the detective was the same as in every other show and entirely predictable, as was the attitude of the chief of police. The only thing that saves the show, and gets it one star instead of zero, is the personality and character of the lead actress. Although, truthfully, she was much better on Sleepy Hollow than she was here. But this show would have been helped by some of the spookiness of Sleepy Hollow.
99% of new Hallmark mysteries are astonishingly bad (and the bar isn't really high). Not this one!
Loved both leads, they are fun together, fun on their on. I was afraid Lyndie Greenwood's character would be fake and irritating, but actually she was cute. As in quirky cute.
Loved other characters. The mother, the realtor, the cop boss, etc. Family members in these films are often... just there, just wasting screentime, but not in CrimeTime.
Even the kids were not annoying (and I expected them to be annoying).
So I hope it won't be a one time thing like many others.
This is seriously the first good Hallmark mystery since Curious Caterer.

Loved every minute of it. Lays an awesome foundation for the series and I'm super excited for what's to come.
The actors all compliment each other well and it's so nice to see some Christmas hallmark actors make their way to more dramatic rolls. Loved seeing actor Brittany Mitchell tackle this role and I'd be excited to see her character story line expanded. Lyndie Greenwood is also amazing and created great depth of character.
Looking forward to seeing crime time expand and explore more dramatic concepts.
All the characters have chemistry and there's great balance within the story line of character development and suspense.
Especially love the diverse cast and I hope hallmark continues to create films that represent the real life world we live in.

The characters were truly interesting and love the quirks of lead "Hadley Warner". Playing a sleuth for 10 years made the character part of her. Loved her kids and mother.
The detective likes to be in control so he wouldn't admit he knew her show, but he's going to be fun.
This is the kind of show that Hallmark has been sadly lacking in recent years. They're trying different characters and partnerships in different places, but are having trouble replicating the Garage Sale and Gourmet Detective series, or Murder 101. This is a serious contender, like the Tamara Mowry series in Ireland. I can't take 6 months of Christmas romances, so I cancelled. Mysteries this good would make me pay monthly again.

I loved this. A really great mystery plot! Once I got used to some of the characters I had no trouble settling into it! I like the Hallmark mystery characters and plots, this was really well done.
The story really makes you suspect a number of different characters. The only thing I am missing is some key information that they did not fill in at the end but other than that it was interesting! I won't say what was not explained because then I might ruin the plot for someone else.
I thought they made Luke McFarlane a little too mean in his role though. I know that's how they do the cops in their shows but I think he could have been a little bit nicer in his role to her.

This was a really good movie. I loved Hadley's character- smart and funny! I liked how she put herself into the investigation against the wishes of the detective. These two had great chemistry. You could see the attraction right away between these two. And you just know he knew who she was even when he tried to deny it. And Bax! He just decided he was her new BFF and that was that. Hadley's kids were great too. Not your stereotypical teen brats. Their characters were smart, talented and respectful of their mom. I loved "I love your faces". I think the more I watched this movie, the more I liked it. I really hope they make a second one.
