A beautifully crafted film with stunning cinematography and a compelling story. The character development, especially of the female lead and the monk brother-in-law, is exceptional.
Despite its 2.5-hour runtime, not once did I feel bored-the narrative remains engaging throughout. I had the chance to watch this at the Bengaluru International Film Festival, and I'm so glad I picked it over the many options available. The direction is masterful, blending emotion and depth effortlessly.
A truly immersive experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. Well worth watching and highly recommended!

I really enjoyed Shambhala - easily one of the best films Nepal has ever made. The story is deeply moving, blending themes of personal empowerment, spirituality, and breaking free from societal norms. The breathtaking cinematography captures the essence of the Himalayas, and Pema's journey of resilience is both powerful and relatable. Its nuanced exploration of empowerment, tradition, and identity elevates it far beyond typical Nepali films. Every frame feels purposeful, and the symbolism adds layers of meaning that linger long after the credits roll. It's a true testament to the potential of Nepali cinema on the global stage.
Honestly, if this film doesn't bag an Academy Award, something's wrong!
For those Nepalis who haven't watched it yet-what are you waiting for? You might want to trade those TikTok reels for something more meaningful?

Shambhala is an experience. A nicely paced movie, with a very simple story of a simple everyday character.
The story takes place in rural himalayan region of Nepal, but is highly relatable to anyone who has ever struggled for their truth.
It is a must watch for everyone, and specially every Nepali. Without a hint of doubt, I say that "Shambhala is the best Nepali movie ever made".
It is very difficult to pinpoint the best part of the movie, as every part was nearly perfect, but cinematography of Shambhala stands out the most Unbelievable experience from a simple story.
It showed me part of Nepal, which I have never even imagined it existed.
Just watch it!

Simple but deep storytelling, awesome cinematography. Watching the film is like watching a theatre on a screen. Its a efficient and great combination of culture, emotions, values, difficulties of lives of people living in the mountains. Its not a movie, its a phenomenal reality. Watching the movie anyone will be lost inside the powerful visualization and storytelling. The dolpo culture in which they tell about the marriage of a single women with multiple husbands, the cremation process of a dead body, monastery culture, trading culture of crossborder etc is shown with so much detailing by the director, anyone will fall in love with the creation of Min bahadur Bham, who has already proved himself through 'Kalo Pothi'(the black hen).
"Shambala" is more than just a film-it's an immersive experience that transports you into the mystical realm of a hidden kingdom of peace and enlightenment. From the stunning cinematography to the deeply philosophical narrative, this movie beautifully captures the essence of spiritual longing and human connection.
The director's vision shines through in every frame, blending breathtaking visuals with a profound story that resonates on a universal level. The performances are captivating, drawing you into the lives of the characters who are all on their own personal quests for meaning and truth. The pacing of the film allows for moments of introspection, mirroring the journey the characters take towards enlightenment.
What makes "Shambala" truly stand out is its ability to balance the mystical and the human, offering not only a visual feast but also a spiritual message that lingers long after the credits roll. It's rare to find a film that both entertains and inspires, and "Shambala" does so effortlessly.
If you're someone who enjoys films that challenge the intellect, touch the heart, and stimulate the spirit, then "Shambala" is a must-watch. It's a cinematic masterpiece that deserves every bit of a perfect rating. Highly recommended!
