Storm Rider - Correre per vincere

I like this movie. The idea that family is not always a "Leave it to Beaver" situation makes this a feel good movie with drama. Although loose in story structure, the point is made. The best thing about it is I can watch it with my children without any embarrassment. We can talk about decisions and consequences without sex, violence and more violence. It is nice seeing someone willing to put time and energy into a movie that is truly PG/PG13... in this day and age it would probably almost qualify as a G! The actors came across as people who were being watched. Insecure at times, as they should be in a real life situation. I recommend that this film be added to the family library since it can be watched multiple times and still not get boring.

Uplifting and believable without being unrealistically sentimental. Very refreshing to watch a movie that is not replete with sex, foul language, or political messages. Dani's unexpected change of heart is an encouragement to us all. Not all characters were as believable as Mr. Sorbo's. But, all the little flaws are forgivable when weighed against the many positives. Truly, nothing in the human world is perfect.

All the animals were wonderful; scenery, exquisite. The movie was worth watching for these gems alone. Kevin Sorbo did an excellent job with his character, remote, grumpy, yet most lovable.

Dani Fielding (Danielle C. Ryan) is forced to live her horse-doctor uncle Sam Fielding (Kevin Sorbo) after her father Mitch (C. Thomas Howell) is sent to prison. The bitter teen is not happy with her new living situation. Jody Peterson (Kristy Swanson) is the friendly neighbor.

I know the movies that Kevin Sorbo has been making during the last decade is a lot of preachy God stuff. Some people can pull off the father-knows-best work. He comes off as arrogant. In this case, he's more human. He's a bit grumpy and messy. This is set up for both characters to learn lessons and find joy. It needs better progression. It needs better writing. I can see where the story has potential, but this is not good enough. It's bland even for a family friendly fare and they don't have to be. By the time of the action rescue, the movie has lost most of the audience.
