I thought to myself that I would start by watching a few episodes at first and then continue if I found this movie engaging enough to watch, I must say that I rarely have time or a piece catches my attention to spend the whole 2+ hours watching a movie.

This time it was different, the setup took me from the beginning and kept me involved in the picture until the end of the film. This movie carries you through experiences of tragedy, excitement, Christmas spirit on the front lines, volunteers who do their job with their whole hearts, and soldiers who are most likely not alive anymore given the intensity of war..

This is a movie from people and for people to see more and understand more, highly recommended!

Most people probably go into this movie thinking they know what it's going to be, but keep an open mind. The filmmaker had access to many environments that few are able to obtain, and the way it's edited gives a visual perspective that leads to a visceral one. It has a specific POV but the filmmaker presents the information in such a way that the viewer is free to make their own conclusions, which is the sign of a well balanced, well put together doc. I thought I'd watch a little bit and then come back for more later, but it's so compelling I watched entire film without realizing the time had flown by.

I loved this film. It depicts wartime Ukraine through the eyes of many people, both on the frontline and away from it. It depicts humanity behind the war news headlines in a touching but not overly sentimental way. The film gets the balance just right.

It has superb music throughout, from banging tunes to choral pieces which adds to the rich tapestry of the people and situations depicted.

Food is a theme that appears throughout adding to the sense of humanity and commonality, everyone can relate to food with family, friends and colleagues.

The film really gets under the skin of what it is like to live in a country at war and so is educational as well as a really good watch.

The reality of what's been taking place in Ukraine in an honest and raw form. While being brutally attacked by an aggressor, you must decide. You come together, reflect and find the courage to overcome the evil that threatens your fellow people; your culture; your life. That is exactly what Ukraine is doing right now and right before our eyes. The movie captures the coming together of civilians from all walks of life; their passion for life; how they work together to overcome despite demolished homes, murdered families; looking all-out brutality directly in the eyes. I was particularly moved by moments that involved groups of Ukrainians coming together as one to share duties in the kitchen and in helping others evacuate shelled areas. The definition of courage is contained within.
