Always thought nobody could replace on screen Ramand Sagar's Ramayan. This is mesmerizing so far.. it would be fascinating to watch this whole series. To stick to the strict storyline of this historical document and be creative is always a tough job and many have failed as recently as in Adipurush. But this series is by far accurate and the maker's creative take on everything from casts to costumes and to the dialogues has made this whole series a must watch. If you don't watch it with family you are missing out something very special. Cinematic experience alone is enough to watch it again and again.. kudos to the team..

We've been watching this show from 1st episode and the acting, direction is super quality. Casting is very well done and the VFX are really amazing. Each and every actor is living up to the character and it's evident how diligently they are playing their part. They have maintained the classic music from the old Ramayan and new music also amazing. Pehle jo bhi ramayan based serial dekha but unme vo feel.nahi.aaya jo ramanand sagar ki ramayan me aaya tha and ramanand sagar ki ramayan k bad ye bahut achi ramayan bana h .......abhi tak to ek bhi episode miss nhi kia, aur na hi miss karne ka man karta h,

I'm usually not big fan of Swastik shows who always twisted stories for trps. But this show is having exceptional screenplay so far. Music is strong point in Mythological shows and they did great job in this department. Casting looks solid but weaker than Siya Ke Ram. Niketan looks exceptional in Ravan's role though. Let's see if they'll able to justice or not. I hope they will not turn this show into another 2013 Mahabharat for trps. That show was full of fictional stories. Speaking about VFX an Indian Television show can't show better VFX than this. But still looks far better than 300 cr Adipurush VFX.
Excellent TV series.
Full of spirituality -good TV series of lord Shree RAM.
Every Indian across the world should watch it with their family. After a long time a family entertainer spiritual well directed TV serial came. Music of this TV serial is no doubt one of the strongest side. In addition to the music , the direction of this tv serial is quite brilliant and tight which does not let the TV serial slow down at any point. The one thing that needs a huge improvement is the quality of VFX..which is still quite average compared to the VFX shown during the Serial promo. Secondly the future star cast still needs to come more strong justifying the character of this epic TV series.
Overall must watch series remembering and praying lord RAM. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I have started watching Shrimad Ramayan from the first episode.
In the first episode of this show, the story behind Maharaja Nemi getting the name Dashrath was presented very well.
I have loved watching this serial since the first episode.
The dialogue in this serial is very awesome.. The one who is playing the character of Ram ji in the serial is completely perfect and Basant Bhatt who is playing the character of Laxman ji is also very perfect.
The actress who playing the character of Maa Sita is very perfect.
Everyone's acting is very good and everyone is presenting their character very well.
Jay Shree Ram Jay Hanuman Ji.

The program is really amazing! We watch it with the whole family. BUT... Since they made the program length to 30 minutes, the show is progressing very very slowly. It was great earlier when the progress was much faster and we used to enjoy that more than now.
Earlier we could connect to story line much better and it was great to watch with lot of things happening within 1 week of time. But now what is happening is even if 2 weeks (10 episodes) go by, there isn't really much story shown within those 10 days.
I would request the makers of the show to make it little more fast paced again. People will start to get bored if it is this slow as within 1 week we hardly get to see some real story line.

These people are those who like Mahabharata (2013) and Radhakrishna and are now commenting that this ramayan is not up to mark and Sita's acting is not good .Like seriously,First of all Stop comparing this with Siya ke ram .Every one is saying siya ke ram is better Siya ke ram is better ,I Mean these people are too much negative and criticizing that's it . Siya ke ram was good but this is also great, a masterpiece actually .Sita's acting is also good ,It will enhance with time.
I just want to say to those people saying " this is not good" , here's my piece of advice Advice :Just go get a job .When will you start appreciating good shows? Is this because you have never been appreciated in your life? Well , listen people this is better than the shows currently airing on sony TV isn't it .Those shows like "barsatein -promoting toxic love" and "Kavya- whose main purpose was to popularise feminism and woman strength but is currently showing love breakup again love and marriage seriously, girl is not focused on her ias goal" And "the show that is promoting pure love, sacrifice, respect , culture and knowledge' is not up to mark.
Having an opinion is not wrong but criticizing everything in name of saying that ramanand's sagar , siya ke ram was better is just too much. Is this because you have been compared with others too much in your life .Just appreciate a show promoting respect for parents and pure love (not lust like the current shows) Well if you feel offended by my review then you seriously have a problem because truth is always bitter and hard to accept Well I have slammed these criticism very much and I wish to assert few words of my appreciation for shrimad ramayan " A great show with amazing visuals(Ram,Siya,Laxman,Raavan)like hat's off with casting,Amazing acting by the brothers(Laxman,Bharat,Shatrughan)and Sita is doing an absolutely great job as Sita and I feel her acting and understanding of character is increasing day by day And what to say about Ram and Ravan (slaaaaaaayyyyyy) Amazing songs, amazing to see background and all I have no words "Just woowww. Overall delightful to watch and I can't wait for 24 hrs for next episode .It's too much engaging and I want to see more and more . I watch both the repeat telecast also. When it starts I just go woww this is a true show to watch .
Swastik productions you have brought a sunshine in the night for us to admire and gaze upon ,feel the warmth of . Thank you ,Really appreciate it (Sorry for my long speech but I felt it necessary to say something to these criticisms and appreciate the show)

The original Ramayan is my father's favorite tv show ever. For years, my he was hoping to see a new version of Ramayan that was serious and not cartoony, but also visually good and not unrealistic. Every time he tried watching a new attempt, something would fail to click. When he found out about this show, and the fact that it was going to have the backers that it does, he was cautiously optimistic.
My mom likes mythology, but rarely watches shows about them and gave it a shot too. They watched the first episode, found it promising and decided to keep watching. Fast forward a week and now they love it. It isn't perfect, and there are things that take time to get used to. But the show captures the essence of the story as best as you can in modern times. You can still sense the spirituality very nicely, but it doesn't feel like an old show either. It captures the old and new perfectly. Technically, it's very good. Story wise, same. Visuals are on point. BGM is fitting. Thank you to the makers of this show for proving to my father that, at least for one week, it is possible to make a modern version of Ramayan and not go haywire along the way. I hope it stays this way.

We've been watching this show since past few days and the acting, direction is of utmost quality. Casting is very well done and the VFX are really up to the par. Kudos to the makers for putting in so much efforts. Each and every actor is living up to the character and it's evident how diligently they are playing their part. The bgm is very good as well, I'm glad they have maintained the classic music from the og Ramayan. Glad to see veteran actors like Surendra Pal sir.
So far so good. I hope to see this standard maintained in future episodes as well.
New additions to the legend of Ramayan such as backstories of ravan and dashrath is a fresh treat to watch.

After old Ramayan . This is the best adaptation. Everything is shown with such a detail . The graphics and cgi is exceptional. Every character has been given importance and the story related to the characters has been told with detailed explanation. The task to make swastika was explained in such detail . All the dialogues and shlokas chanted in the show has been delivered with perfection. All the characters have justified their roles till now . The character of Ravana has been casted perfectly. He has his rage , zeal for dominance and revenge . The character of ram justifies the forgiving nature and passing judgment after seeking proper truth . Must watch show for everyone. Loved the detail explanation . 10 stars till now .
Jai shree ram .

The things that are really nice
Things I dislike: I'm not a fan of Urmila being made to sleep for 14 years. It makes far more sense that her being the only daughter-in-law present after Ram exile and before Bharat coming back would be there to serve Kaushalya, not just fall asleep.
Upon seeing the golden deer, per Valmiki Ramayan, it is Lakshmana who expresses doubt on the deer being a Rakshasa. This serial totally ignores it and makes Rama say all the dialogues. Why can't Lakshman be given some quality dialogues here??
In Kishkindha Kand of Valmiki Ramayan, it clearly states that Lakshman smilingly asks ("prahasan abraveet") Sugriv how his doubts about Ram's ability to kill Vali can be resolved. Shrimad Ramayan shows him angry at Sugriv for having doubts.
Similarly, a scene about the rain suddenly coming and Lakshman getting almost angry at the vanaras for being concerned about the monsoon makes no sense. Lakshman is not so brash.
After Sugriv apologizes for his lapse, Lakshman is happy per Valmiki Ramayan. This serial shows him as still angry! Again, this mischaracterizes Lakshman.
I have only seen thusfar based on youtube releases of the episode living in America.
I am all for artistic creativity but that creativity should not distort the nature of how Valmiki, Tulsidas, etc describe the characters.
- Ram & Sita acting by Sujay Reu & Prachi Bansal are great!
- Hanuman acting is also very good
- more details shown than Ramanand Sagar Ramayan

The story was exceptionally beautiful.. all the roles & actors are awesome except sita ji . The simplicity & innocence is missing in her. She seems to do overacting. The role of sitaji was always played & portrayed beautifully .. full of innocence yet strong but here she is not at all complimenting with ram ji. I really wish to see any other actress playing the role of sitaji. Audience notice every small details as they are not playing some normal characters.. they are playing the role of god & goddesses so it's very important to not mess & harm the image of them as it could harm hindu sentiments. Rest everything is good about the show.

I never thought I would say this but the devotion and story telling which Ramanand Sagar had in his Ramayan (which was par excellence in itself)has been far surpassed in this series. Excellent acting, excellent story telling, excellent songs, beauty sets, best devotion from heart and excellent direction. The only thing which can be better are the special effects. But it can be easily ignored.
Just 11 episodes in, Hanuman has not yet been introduced.
A special shout out for the casting. Ram and Sita have been excellently. Also the storytellers Shiv and Parvati have been cast excellently. Always smiling and very divine.
A special mention for Pankaj Dheer's son as Ravan. He looks tall, very learned, egoistic, extremely strong and perfect for the role.
This series deserves all the success and accolades! Wish it all the best! Jai Sia Ram!

True depection of Ramayan. Great Casting. Acting, Costumes, Set Design everything is on the point. Best Ramayana for kids. Ram Lakshman Sita look great. The show goes on at a steady pace as it is supposed to be. Ravan is maybe not fitting in should not necessarily be tall. The small events shown in the show are great and they have given attention to every detail. Bhagwan Shiv narrating Shrimad Ramayan to Maata Parvati is great and they look great. Dashrath, Kaikayi, Sumitra, Kaushalya, Bharat, Shatrugna, Mandvi, Shrutkirti, Urmila, etc. Are also great. Showing idols of ancestors in Ayodhya was also good.

You have reunited us with Ram ji in a very excellent way, you have also selected each character very beautifully.
Even in the midst of children's exams, they are looking at Ram ji and Bharat ji, request is to let us stay with Ram ji for 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes. After Ramanand Sagar ji, your effort seems to be the best.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could spare some time and connect each episode of Ramcharitmanas and tell each and every part of Ram ji and Ramayana to us and this new generation. Today's Jayanti scene was only heard by us, you are good. Told from, Surpanakha's husband had also only heard about it, similarly these small details are keeping us together.
The matter reached further

This Ramayan is one of the best Ramayan serial till now. Everything looks perfect, be it cast, vfx, relevance to the real story, music and costumes. This time Swastik Production has done a tremendous job by getting everything right. I have got a lot of joy and inspiration by watching Shrimad Ramayan serial. In this serial, Ram Katha has been presented in a very beautiful, simple and truthful manner. The acting, clothes, make-up, music and background details of every character of the serial are extremely authentic and charming. Ram's character, values, duty, love, tolerance, dedication, justice, sympathy, sacrifice, patience, culture and glory have been illuminated in every scene of the serial. I think everyone should watch this serial, because it reminds us of our old times, our old traditions, our old superheroes, our old epics and our old important messages. I have full hope that this serial will be liked by all the viewers and through this we all will get guidance from Ram.

This is the best Ramayan serial I've ever seen!! This is 1000% true Valmeeki Ramayan... 0% changes.. plus, the cast, costume designing, dialogues (totally opposite from Adipurush 🤣).. trust me.. I've read some chapters of Valmeeki Ramayan and I see that there's no change in this serial.. if you want, you can verify once by yourself.. I love how they showed that Mata Sita gave her 'Chudamani' to Shri Hanuman so that he can show it to Shri Ram.. Over-all, this serial is highly recommended for everyone who wants to know history of our land.. wonderful work by producer, director and the script writer.. Jai Siya Ram.

"Shrimad Ramayan" presents a glammed-up retelling of the revered epic, Ramayan. Despite the immense effort to maintain factual adherence to the original text, the series falls short of capturing the true essence of the ancient tale. The meticulous attention to detail in aligning the storyline with the canonical scriptures is commendable, yet this very effort seems to undermine the spiritual and emotional depth that makes the Ramayan a timeless narrative.
One of the most critical shortcomings of "Shrimad Ramayan" is the lack of gravitas among the actors portraying the epic's iconic characters. This deficiency becomes painfully evident when comparing the on-screen performances to the actors' off-screen personas, as seen in various interviews. The performers fail to embody the profound virtues and heroic qualities that define figures like Lord Rama, Sita, and Hanuman. Instead, their portrayals come off as shallow and unconvincing, leaving viewers yearning for more depth and sincerity.
The dialogues in "Shrimad Ramayan" further contribute to the series' shortcomings. Laden with artifice, the script often feels forced and lacks the natural, poetic flow that one would expect from a retelling of such a revered text. The conversations between characters do not resonate with the philosophical and spiritual richness intrinsic to the Ramayan, rendering many scenes flat and uninspiring. This mediocrity in dialogue writing detracts from the overall impact of the series, making it difficult for the audience to connect with the story on a deeper level.
Adding to the sense of artificiality are the sets, which, despite their grandeur, fail to capture the authentic essence of the time and place they aim to represent. The overly polished and ornate settings, while visually impressive, feel more like stage props than genuine environments. This lack of authenticity in the set design creates a dissonance that prevents viewers from being fully immersed in the world of the Ramayan.
Furthermore, "Shrimad Ramayan" suffers from an excess of preachiness, which appears to be an attempt to cater to a broad audience without offending any sensibilities. While the intention to present the story in an inclusive manner is praiseworthy, the resultant simplification and moralizing tone feel like a disservice to the epic's profound and multifaceted narrative. The confidential pastimes of Lord Rama are diluted in an effort to make them universally palatable, leading to a version of the story that lacks the depth and nuance of the original text.
Because of all these reasons, even though the intent behind "Shrimad Ramayan" seems well-placed, the series as a whole seems forgettable. Ramanand Sagar's adaptation of Ramayan also took liberties in portrayal, and yet it is still remembered because of the emotion of selfless devotion which this series verily lacks. The lackluster performances, artificial sets, and mediocre dialogues, combined with an overly preachy tone, result in a series that feels more like a grand spectacle than a sincere retelling of one of Hinduism's greatest stories.
In conclusion, "Shrimad Ramayan" may appeal to viewers seeking a visually rich and straightforward adaptation of the Ramayan, but it falls short for those yearning for a portrayal that truly honors the depth, spirituality, and emotional resonance of the original epic. The series highlights the importance of balancing authenticity and artistic interpretation in bringing ancient stories to life, a balance that "Shrimad Ramayan" unfortunately does not achieve.

While Shrimad Ramayan holds an esteemed place in literary and religious traditions, this reading did not meet my expectations in terms of philosophical depth and character expression. The epic's treatment of complex moral issues and the portrayal of its protagonist, Ram, could benefit from a more nuanced and emotionally resonant approach. Despite these critiques, the Ramayan's cultural and spiritual significance remains undisputed, and it continues to be a source of inspiration for many.
I found it lacking in certain areas. The epic does provide a moral framework and explores dharma (duty/righteousness) through various characters. However, the treatment of these concepts often feels superficial and didactic rather than exploratory. For instance, the dilemmas faced by Ram and other characters are resolved in a manner that sometimes appears overly simplistic, lacking the nuanced exploration of ethical conflicts found in other philosophical texts. This reduces the opportunity for deeper introspection and philosophical engagement for the reader.
Another area where the Ramayan fell short is in the expression and depth of Lord Ram's character.

The episodes over the past few weeks have become very slow and boring.
All the main characters seem to be lost and unable to come up with some interesting scenes.
1. Shriram only keeps on staring doing nothing and even at times appears weak while his vanar sena is being attacked. Laxman only gets flared up without any reason and again does nothing.
2. Ravan keeps on repeating the same dialogues in a monotonous way without any change in expression or enthusiasm and causing severe headache to the viewers.
3. Chanting Jai Shri Ram is very good but showing only that in the entire episode without any new scene it seems the director doesn't know how to take the story forward.
4. Sita always looks confused and acts like Rakhee from the Karan Arjun movie repeating the same dialogue multiple times mere shriram aayenge. Ok we agree but when is the million dollar question.
5. Taking liberty in story telling is acceptable but only to a certain extent. Showing Sita visiting the palace and other places of Ravan is difficult to digest.
6. The VFX and CGI are horrible and makes the Ramanand Sagar Ramayan look like a masterpiece in visual effects.
It's better if the production house pull up their socks and come up with some interesting content to retain viewership. Or if they are planning to drag the series for another 2 to 3 years then even Lord Shriram can't save them.
Even Siya ke Ram on Star Plus was much better in terms of visual effects and acting.
