Saving Nora

Having just watched the YouTube preview - the supposed best foot forward to introduce the plot of this show - it's insane in the most derogatory sense of the word. It's apparently thousands of episodes long. Far longer than any plot-based podcast should last, let alone one that has so little substance, relies entirely on shock value and Nora being a reverse Mary Sue, and sits behind a $5/month parallel.

For multiple reasons outlined below, I cannot suspend my disbelief long enough to become invested in anyone. It's not even so bad, it's good. It's so bad, Pocket FM should be ashamed they introduced themselves to me with this heaping garbage.

-Weight-gain injections!? For a child!? Who actually does that, even if they are abusive? What doctor AGREES to that without losing their license? What doctor would not call CPS on the spot? They fattened Nora up without her consent solely for the plot of some sick fantasy that I'm 99% sure is The Author's Barely-Disguised Fetish.

-Why do these people have nothing better to do than actively torment one person in particular for her entire life? Do they all have a betting pool going on when she'll snap and if she'll kill herself or someone else? Once again feels like it's part of the author's kink to be the most hated person in the story.

-For that matter, why are her father, stepmom, and stepsister continuing to sabotage her AFTER the rich guy says he'll marry her? Doesn't their way of life hinge on making this marriage happen?

-Why does she not have any friends or supporters who actually like her for who she is? Why is Ethan - who faked liking her for content - the FIRST person who showed her kindness? Is literally everyone else in on this scheme? Every adult and student in her entire life, even if we only start from the time she got weight-gain injections?

-Does she live in a parallel universe America where she is the only overweight person there is? Where obesity is NOT an epidemic that affects about half the nation's population?

-Does she also live in a parallel universe America where, even in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Three, women can just be married off by their fathers with no problems at all? Like what is going on where she has to run away to get out of the marriage?

-By the time they bring up Nora's supposed virgin pregnancy, it's not even shocking. It's the least surprising thing about this mishmash of a hundred different plots all held together with spit, Scotch tape, and half-hearted worldbuilding.

This is the dumbest podcast I have ever listened to. Whereas overall you want to know the next part of the story it is so far fetched and stupid as well as totally unrealistic. 4 stars for holding your interest and -6 stars for being so stupid, cringy and unbelievable. All this story line does is talk about wealth and prestige but it's so over the top it's ridicules. They string it out to over 1,000 episodes with plain ole garbage.

Then, when you look for reviews they make you do an unrealistic amount of characters hoping you won't take the time to drag out the review and will give up.

But as this whole podcast is so unbelievably I'm going to finish the review.

If this is the kind of trash Pocket FM puts out with the unbelievable expensive trash I will definitely make sure I don't listen to anything else they have on the app. What a bunch of idiotic garbage.

The story it self is riveting but i think the author failed in some obvious areas for not thinking that issue she created can be solved immediate. The mention that they are the powerful family in the NY and LA is enough to overturn any hurdles and circumstance. If its base in the real world, if you have money you have connections, and with those connections that are purely loyal because of your money is the main ingredient of staying in power. Not to spill anything. Just an example, you are the head of a conglomerate and in the novel the only top official the most powerful family can talk to is just a Captain of the Police force? If Maybe the writer should explore more on the meaning of Power. Take those Kdramas with Filthy rich family storyline. Politics is politics which ever country you are in. Regardless if this is NY or Asian. The principle is the same. All the issues in the novel are very easy to resolve because of that Power. Which the writer failed to write about. The Power she kept mentioning are just words not totally in action. I knoe you have to put drama into it to spice it up. But when you do make sure to follow the string of succession and not just extending the scenes just to have 3000 words per episode. I like the story, very relatable and aspiring. I just hope that the author can enhance the story or edit if that possible or anyone who have the knowledge to re-write to make it cohesive and tighten a bit would make the story more and more exciting.

This story definitely is filled with interesting characters and plot twists and each chapter more and more is added to the story and more characters appear. It is a romance as well as mystery and also has a lot of violence in it and action scenes. As more and more is revealed about Nora and what happened to her as a child and what her true family background is, it is intriguing to say the least however some of it is too outrageous to believe. It starts out with Nora coming back to the states to try to find her son and she ends up finding out a whole lot more about her background as well as eventually revealing all of her hidden identities.
