Daniel Jenkins and Neill Barry, who played O.C. and Stiggs, reveal in the documentary that they were contracted for two sequels.
The film's visual consultant Stephen Altman separately states that had "O.C. and Stiggs" been the commercial success that many involved anticipated, his father, director Robert Altman, "would have directed a sequel(s), gladly," quipping, "We were ready for 'O.C. and Stiggs 6.'"
Longtime Altman collaborator Allan Nicholls shares a similar view regarding the then-possibility of "O.C. and Stiggs" sequels, reiterating that contrary to legend, Robert Altman wasn't at war with the concept itself, having once considered making a sequel to "Nashville." Nicholls shares that Altman would ultimately direct one sequel, "Tanner on Tanner," a follow-up to "Tanner '88," the latter of which costarred Daniel Jenkins and Cynthia Nixon from "O.C. and Stiggs."
