Excellent inside look at Rich's life from friends and family

While technically a documentary, this film about Rich's life has more of a homey fireside chat feel to it. As David Leo Schulz interviews those who knew Rich from the beginning of his life until the end, one gets a broad picture of his life that does not disappoint. For those who have seen other materials about Rich's life, this one will be an eye-opener in that it introduces us to some lesser-heard-from individuals in Rich's life (such as his brother Lloyd, who comes across more as a down-to-earth Hoosier country boy than as the brother of a Christian musician). The only disappointment was that the only extended interview material on the DVD had material only from the interview with Brennan Manning and from the interview with Mac Powell of Third Day; I was hoping to see more extended interview material from Mitch McVicker. The film also does not explore in great detail Rich's interest in Catholicism (which, I suppose, is somewhat understandable, as most of his friends, family, and even the documentary producer are Protestants). Perhaps most poignant are the segments at the end in which friends and family members describe how they each dealt with the news of Rich's death. This is a must-see companion to Ragamuffin (2014), the feature film based on Rich's life.

PROFOUND and Thought Provoking

This movie is EXCELLENT and PROFUND! It is a thought provoking story that touched my heart deeply. There are may aspect of his life that I can relate to. Rich experienced similar challenges that which I have seen in the lives of myself and others. His faith perseveres throughout his struggles. He was not afraid to share his beliefs of his relationship with God and what he felt that God expects of us. His beliefs were so strong that he was not afraid to offend traditional Chrisitan standards. It is definitely worth attending at a theater. OR if you can bring the movie to your church. My only regret is it not available to view at the theater or on DVD. Rich Mullins was a wonderful artist. I love his music and miss him greatly!

Honest, real, gospel driven

What a great movie. Made on a $500,000 budget, and possibly the best, most honest movie I have ever seen.

Too many Christians have confused religion with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They have equated morality and ethics with Christianity. The Bible makes a huge distinction between the irreligious, the religious, and Christianity. Jesus goes to great lengths throughout his time on earth to urge people towards authenticity... Towards admitting that we are all sinners and pushing us deeper into the gospel. Into grace. Into true healing that comes through His righteousness and not our own. This movie is a great example of Jesus' unrelenting love and pursuit of a ragamuffin like Rich, and it shows that God uses surrendered hearts that are Vulnerable and dependent. in touch with Jesus, much more than perfect religious people who rely on religion and their own righteous acts.

Great movie.
