Better than expected

It's clearly not Iguchi's absolute best work, That kind of can't be helped. It's a made for TV movie so he's going to have limitations to work around, both in scripting, budget and most importantly how much gore he can get away with. Regardless, he managed to get full mileage out of it. What ends up coming out is something very reminiscent of Hausu or Evil Dead. Frenetic style with some legitimately creepy moments. The acting leaves a little to be desired, except for the two female leads who nail their stuff. The effects are practical and good for what they are. It would have been interesting to see what he could have done with a real budget and the censors turned off. Still a fun watch.
