Episodio #1.1

DC Ember is on the look out for a predatory man, who's targeting underage, teenage girls. Recently widowed, Ember is experiencing a form of trauma, and getting flashbacks.

It looks dark and grim, and let's face it, it is dark and grim, billed as the new Vera, it's not even in the same race, let alone on the podium. If this was an item of clothing, it would be an old, grey cardigan, every scene is just grim.

Nicely filmed, it looks good, although they could have added a bit of lighting, but that's probably the only real positive I can find.

Jenna Coleman just doesn't fit the role somehow, she's a very talented actress, but I'm not buying Ember character, maybe my expectations were just to high, perhaps it will settled down and improve.

It's The BBC, so it's as you'd expect, all men are bad, all men are monsters, the narrative just doesn't seem to change these days. Why can't they just focus on telling a compelling story, it's always looking to preach.
