Building Outside the Lines

I absolutely loved this show. The connection Cappy and Alex have is incredible. They are so funny together plus Cappy alone is hysterical. Alex staying busy with her dad and then with dance, piano and school.....she is amazing. I binged watched it then I went to see when season 3 was coming out. To my complete dismay there will be no season 3. I'm really disappointed by this. Alex is a great influence for kids of her age and younger. I really hope they change their minds. My kids loved every second of all the weird stuff they built. They think so far out of the box and makes the show so much more interesting Please bring them back.

This is one of those rare shows that everyone will love. It shows creativity, levity, resourcefulness, recycling, ingenuity and a wonderful relationship between a dad and daughter. It reveals a great dynamic between them with a touch of sass and humor. Love the Spearfish, SD, landscape and the down-home feel of the community. Sincerely hope this program is renewed.

The crew is hardworking, and very respected by Cappie, as are the local merchants and tradespeople in the community.

It is a perfect addition to the Magnolia Channel lineup and it represents the kind of family life everyone should strive for.

Absolutely love this show! Great people, unique builds and love the relationship between Cappie and his daughter. Just how Cappie treats everyone is genuine and kind. Love their imagination and everything they come up with. Small town, yet big ideas. Beautiful country in South Dakota to see and a family friendly show that definitely keeps you watching. We need more like this. Seeing a father teach hi is young daughter all he knows and let's her help is wonderful.

I watched every episode available today- all 6 and a new one is on tonight. Make sure to check it out! I hope there are many more seasons to come! Great show!

I found this home improvement show by accident on the MAX app and decided to let it play while I was falling asleep. Well, that was a mistake. Jared "Cappie" Capp and his 14 year old stepdaughter, nay, daughter, Alex (AKA Sprout) are quite the unstoppable pair.

Chip and Joanna don't have anything on these two. You can see that Sprout loves being there to help and learn from Cappie, and that Cappie takes an immense amount of pride in the little girl he's helped raised.

And the projects they do are incredible! In episode 3, they use the mixing drum from a concrete truck to make a bee themed playhouse for 4 children. It is incredible!!

Overall this show is amazing. The builds are great and seeing a father/ teenage daughter duo is inspirational. I hope the powers that be keep this show going!

I'm on my second time through! The talent, ingenuity and creativity of Cappie and Alex are truly inspiring. And their relationship is very refreshing for not only coworkers but a a stepdad and 14 year old daughter especially. You can tell they have a deep bond built of love and mutual respect, which allows for plenty of good natured banter and teasing without rancor or eyerolling. What a treat! Capp narrates the work thoroughly, but is easy to understand if one is interested. He seems to have a good working relationship with all of the other trades people he interacts with as well as his crew. All in all this is a really interesting show, managing to feel somewhat unique in a saturated market, both exciting and relaxing to watc at the same time. I was THRILLED to see that it's been renewed! Can't wait until December!!
