A short film that thoughtfully has much to offer, being a small entertaining experience that deserves a chance.
"Dive" in just 15 minutes takes you through a moving story that has its impact due to its focus on overcoming challenges and achieving goals. Giving a reflective glance to quickly establish a connection with the viewer. Thus, a simple short film but one that fulfills its merit.
Director Tyler Redmond has an appealing potential, occasionally delivering striking camera angles and scene transitions, adding a lot of quality to what is seen on screen. Mainly, those shots observing the surroundings are well executed.
Among its cinematic aspects, I can highlight the sound, the costumes, and the photography for brief moments.
The story is immersed both psychologically and reflectively, opening the door to themes such as the father/daughter relationship, success, frustration, talent, overcoming challenges, pressure, personal well-being, effort, dedication, sports, setbacks, physical/mental health, personal standards, communication, the obsession with victory, and the image of seeing your children be the best.
It's a story that has a lot of potential, but from my perspective, it could have been more impactful. Since it has the foundations to make this short film a great experience. Even so, it doesn't take away from its merit, and it's entertaining.
