Miren Torres has been married to Iñigo Gorosmendi for over 30 years. The housewife and mother's life appears carefree on the outside: two grown-up sons, a large apartment in Bilbao and a husband who brings home enough money to lead a good life. But Miren's supposedly perfect world is a prison for her, dominated by depression and anxiety. When she finally decides to leave Iñigo, she simultaneously reports him for repeated marital rape. Iñigo is on a business trip lasting several days, so she has time to gather everything she needs for a fresh start. But suddenly she hears a key in the front door. It is Iñigo. Fearing that the police might call Iñigo right now to inform him of her complaint, Miren flees the apartment in a panic, carrying only a small bag that she can grab while running and with her slippers still on her feet. Shortly afterwards, she stands in front of the locked door of her recently deceased mother's apartment. The key is in the other apartment. After trying in vain to get into the apartment, Miren goes to her younger son Jon's shared flat. But her sudden, unannounced appearance raises questions that Jon and her older son Aitor want their mother to answer.
