Not Brilliant, But Better than Most

As an Australian I dont really watch much Australian produced content as most is just not very good, this is an exception and a show I enjoyed from start to finish.

Well acted, well filmed and generally just well done. A lot of the actors in this have been around a long time and have been in many other shows, perhaps this is why this works, they have learnt thier art and put it all out there in this show.

Well worth watching if you get the chance. A pity like most good shows it was cancelled.

Wonderful Wonderland

I would like to say how impressed I am with this show. It has a wonderful cast of people, from all walks of life and covers a lot of issues that everyone faces these days. I am very happy that no-one is seen smoking either, as whenever you see a movie these days, there is always someone doing that, so it feels like this show is very clean, even down to the issues of recycling, I think it is a very positive script. I also recognize a lot of the actors, from previous shows such as Packed to the Rafters, that are no longer on air but these people are still doing well on the screen. Well done to the creators & great acting by the cast, hope this series continues for a long time to come.

Loved it!

This light-hearted romantic drama was a delight to watch. I loved the drama of the relationships between the characters. I especially loved the scenery of where they lived. I may want to see if there's an Air B&B in that same area, just to visit. 👍🏼👍🏼 It's too bad it didn't get picked up for more seasons. 😕

Sexy, Adulterous Fun

The 70's had Number 96 about a group of twenty and thirty somethings living in an apartment block, the 80's viewers got into Prisoner about inmates at a prison or watching families living in a cul de sac on Neighbours and the 90's and early noughties had TV viewers get back into 20 and 30 somethings living close by in apartments in Pacific Drive, Breakers and The Secret Life Of Us. Which brings to the 21st century and the next generation between generation X and Y living in an apartment block along the beach about keeping relationships and cheating, having flings and getting together for F.A.T (Food Appreciation Time) night once a week. Wonderland has a cast of Anna Bamford, Brooke Satchwell, Emma Lung, Jessica Tovey, Ben Mingay, Glenn McMillan, Michael Dorman and Tim Ross who have featured in dramas cultivating fans from their work and creating new fans. Series 1 set up stories for each character and series 2 has followed on and series 3 when it comes back in 2015 looks to be sexy, fun, naughty and hot!

Wonderland needs to return

Loved the show. It's fun a d this is what an American audience needs right now. A bit of fun, drama and romance. Maybe in 2021 show was cancelled due to lack of audience but I think if the show returned with few episodes as a little teaser to an American audience Today - it would be ok.

Maybe Amazon or Netflix can pick up. It's like having the show friends in 2021.

I enjoyed this show.

I am not a big fan of Aussie films or TV shows. The acting is usually very stilted and the writing awful. These days of course you also get the preachy SJW nonsense.

I did enjoy this show though about a group of friends living in Sydney's inner suburbs. The storylines were interesting and realistic and the acting was good.

Like many Aussie shows though they seem to just end without any reason why or logic to it.

A real shame.

So Homey, Fun, and Lovely!

I just loved this show and actually now that I finished the seasons, I miss the characters of the show! Such a great playing, nice subjects, positive vibe, comedy, and I loved the fact that it is an Australian series and was filmed there.

So So

This was okay and sometimes enjoyable. The actors did well with the dialogue they had to work with. I fast forwarded through all of the liberal social lectures. The Carlos character had no sense of boundaries and just went around punching people out like a hormonal teenager. Tom's mother seemed strange. She was supposed to care for her elderly mom, but was she mostly just hung out with a bunch of millennials, stayed away from her husband and interfered in Tom's love life constantly. Their was too much onscreen sex. It seems creepy watching other people being intimate. Other than those things, it held my attention and passed the time.

Very engaging

The direction, the writers and the cast made this romance series addictive!! Michael Dorman made an excellent lead and he depicted the character that every mother would like for her daughter!!!

Australian Friends delightfully soapy

A great escape from reality. A bunch of young good looking 20 somethings live together in an apartment building none of them could possibly afford right on a gorgeous beach in Sydney. Lots of love triangles and steamy but pg scenes. Lots of fun. I binged the 2 seasons I could find ridiculously fast. Also good music throughout

Good Series! Pay attention to the first episode.

Character-driven series with appealing people who live in a Sydney apartment complex. Once the characters are established, the action and dialogue are well devised; viewers are really able to sympathize with or reject their behavior. There are believable twists and turns in plot, the Aussie scenery is gorgeous, and as someone noted, it's "binge worthy." It's a shame that there's no Season 3 available, we're so taken with the characters it's fascinating to project their futures! Some hurtful situations, some sex, some snark - but no exploding heads or shootings or horror. Just a sweet rom-com to enjoy when you want a break from violence and disturbance.

Started good

The first 11 episodes were great then it got politically correct with a lesbian wedding, one of the main guys talking about kissing another guy, and... it changed from wholesome to disgusting in episode 12. Too bad.

A sunny Sydney series with some fresh ideas

'Wonderland' is a romantic comedy drama set in the seaside suburb of Coogee Beach in Sydney. Specifically, the series centers on the residents of an apartment block, Wonderland, which is a stone's throw from the beach.

'Wonderland' commences with the wedding of two of the main characters, Steve and Dani. Married couple and fellow apartment dwellers Rob and Collette, Dani's friend Grace, Steve's mates Tom and Carlos and returning sister Miranda all attend the wedding. However as Tom's girlfriend causes a scene, Tom's mates decide enough is enough. They have to put a stop to Tom's embarrassing track record with his female flat mates. Tom agrees that he will not sleep with a female flat mate for the next year. If he does he loses his beloved heritage car. The series follows the apartment dwellers in their personal and professional lives, particularly that of Tom as he starts to fall for Miranda, his new flat mate and the sister of his best mate.

The opening titles for the show are innovative and follow alongside a catchy tune song, the chemistry between the group is believable and the addition of regular FAT (Food Appreciation Time) nights where the friends hold a cooking competition and critique each others dishes at a dinner party (where no phones are allowed) all set the series apart from other dramas it is often compared with. However while the first season holds promise for the show to develop and offer a strong alternative to both 'Offspring' and 'The Secret Life of Us', 'Wonderland' never quite takes off or tackles storylines with as much depth as these predecessors.

However 'Wonderland' is still an easy watching, light hearted series with a distinct summery feel and plenty to please the eye. The location of Coogee Beach certainly felt utilized and central to the show.

One of my favorite Australian TV Drama!

I binged this show in a couple weeks! It reminded me of Friends but an hour slot and prime time drama without the fake laughs! Each episode with leave you wanting more but the ending is satisfying!

Enjoy the show, why all white people?

Def a good show, but I'm almost into season 2 and am pretty sure there have been zero people of color.

Were the only good reviews by the people who made the show?

I feel like I'm being generous giving this a 2/10. The 'drama' in this show is absolutely absurd. In one show I saw what I presumed to be someone buying a scooter, someone else getting into a scooter accident, someone finding a DNA test for a baby created through cheating someone having their 'dark past revealed'. I could go on but I think it was close to 60 dramas in 60 minutes. And the only reason I kept it on was because I couldn't find the remote.

I'm no reviewer but I just needed to set the story straight that this show doesn't have people from 'all walks of life' it's set in a beach-side apartment building... The series is not even remotely relatable to 90% of the population.

The writing is just beyond me some of the lines actually made me cringe (definitely not the writers intention). It is infuriatingly pretentious and the characters in the show can't possibly exist in real life because they're all too narcissistic to realise there are other people in the world outside of their own problems.

I am so saddened that this is what Australian television has come to.

Very Poor

Everything from shallow drama, to vapid, unoriginal dialogue, this show epitomizes tacky, low budget Australian television. Subtlety and creativity are less than non-existent in this cringeworthy, boring attempt to fill the void of an ever decreasing standard in Australian drama. The fact that this show hoards within the slots of prime time television is an insult to every other show which shows at least a glimpse of promise or a half-decently articulated script. I won't begin on the wooden, lifeless actors, who clearly match their dull performances upon the dryness of the dialogue they agreed to act out. Absolutely no incentive to watch past the opening scenes of this cheesy, career-destroying drool, 'Wonderland' is anything but what the title promises, a major dint in Australian television credibility.
