The Exorcists

Yeah, those biased high scores. Whew. Nice save, production and studio crew. This "movie" is more like a high school project with some brazen attempts to be scary or shocking. It's actually sad to watch this if you're a fan of the original Exorcist. You'll be rolling your eyes (or maybe spinning your head) at the weak acting and boring storyline. To make it worse, the filming scenes were too bright and the demon wasn't scary with their big white glowing eyes. I guess it's true that Hollywood offers nothing new and fresh. Just rehash more knockoff movies of cherished originals for a quick cash grab on the franchise. Watch it if you want, but you'll never get that time back and that's what's really scary.

How disappointing. You know how a movie can be so bad its funny? This wasn't that. In fact I wish it had been. At least then it would be entertaining. Even though I read the reviews and saw the ratings I still rented it. Come on it's thanksgiving and all stuff out right now is a yawn fest but who knew you could take such a great title and make it so bad. The writing was atrocious, the casting just as bad and bland. I mean I like the idea of it but boy was that bland, white meat no seasoning bland. It would be boring boring and under normal circumstances but I would have just watched something different and complained here later, I had nothing better to do than watch that bland movie and I yawned over a dozen times. Sad.

Right, well initially I must admit that I thought that there might actually be something to this 2023 movie "The Exorcists" as it had Brad Dougley on the cast list. But then as the movie started, those two dreaded words appeared on the screen; The Asylum...

But still, I opted to watch the movie, as it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I guess that this was a mockbuster off of the 2023 movie "The Exorcist: Believer", as it is a movie from The Asylum. I haven't yet watched "The Exorcist: Believer" yet, though.

The storyline in "The Exorcists" was rather bland and generic. It was a textbook exorcism movie, but without being overly interesting, scary or particularly worth the 85 minutes that the movie ran for. I must say that I was not particularly entertained throughout the course of the sluggish narrative.

The acting performances in "The Exorcists" was adequate. Though you're not in for anything extraordinary, mind you. Of the entire cast, then I was only familiar with Doug Bradley.

Visually then "The Exorcists" wasn't bringing anything grand to the screen either. It was not a movie that made a use of a whole lot of special effects. I guess the budget simply wasn't available for that.

If you enjoy exorcism movies, then you might find something enjoyable here, if you look hard enough. However, as a casual viewer and a horror fan, I will say that writer and director Jose Prendes delivered a monotonous and forgettable movie.

My rating of "The Exorcists" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I'm an avid horror enthusiast that really loves the demonic possession genre, but this movie was honestly beyond terrible.

The acting was incredibly bad, the stories were very lacklustre, there's no real connection to the characters which doesn't make you interested in them and even the ending got a nice and confused head tilt from me.

This is definitely not a movie I would recommend to any other horror enthusiast, as it literally made me fall asleep halfway through. I continued the movie the day after and it almost felt worse than it was the day before. The horror elements were not really present, and the semi glowing white eyes were not really doing it for me at all.

Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Bad all around from the acting to the storyline. This movie contains no identifiable point and drags asinine characters into it to hide its poor "plot twist" The ending also fails to generate any definable conclusion but instead just cuts off after what is an unremarkable final scene I genuinely enjoy almost any exorcism movie but this was so bad that I created an account to give this the lowest rating possible This was at best a high school project gone wrong. Did not even accurately identify proper biblical demon but instead grabbed a random name from genesis for the demon. I lost 1.5 hours of my life watching this. Don't be next.
