Right, well initially I must admit that I thought that there might actually be something to this 2023 movie "The Exorcists" as it had Brad Dougley on the cast list. But then as the movie started, those two dreaded words appeared on the screen; The Asylum...
But still, I opted to watch the movie, as it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I guess that this was a mockbuster off of the 2023 movie "The Exorcist: Believer", as it is a movie from The Asylum. I haven't yet watched "The Exorcist: Believer" yet, though.
The storyline in "The Exorcists" was rather bland and generic. It was a textbook exorcism movie, but without being overly interesting, scary or particularly worth the 85 minutes that the movie ran for. I must say that I was not particularly entertained throughout the course of the sluggish narrative.
The acting performances in "The Exorcists" was adequate. Though you're not in for anything extraordinary, mind you. Of the entire cast, then I was only familiar with Doug Bradley.
Visually then "The Exorcists" wasn't bringing anything grand to the screen either. It was not a movie that made a use of a whole lot of special effects. I guess the budget simply wasn't available for that.
If you enjoy exorcism movies, then you might find something enjoyable here, if you look hard enough. However, as a casual viewer and a horror fan, I will say that writer and director Jose Prendes delivered a monotonous and forgettable movie.
My rating of "The Exorcists" lands on a three out of ten stars.

Could have been a good story with better writing, producing, and acting. The good parts were just enough to keep me watching but won't be watching it again. It's almost like every few minutes someone would yell "swap" and another writer would take over.
Or similar stories were spliced together to create this failed attempt at a good possession movie.
Maybe a high school assignment that somehow made its way to the movie world??
Almost like a theater class assignment where 3 different groups would step in with the gist and have 10 minutes to improv then have to hand it off to the next group.
Watch at your own risk but not the way most horror fans except.

Like it was written by high schooler after watching the 'Exorcist'. Acting is low grade, sometimes due to terrible dialogue. Even the music isn't always proper for the scene! Don't buy or rent or waste your time. You will regret giving an hour and a half of your time! Disappointing for sure. If you like the genre, stick to the original 'Exorcist' and or the prequel. Also try the TV show 'Evil'!
Save your money!
Wait till it's free and you have chores or a project to do in the background! Terrible acting! Ridiculous back story comes out quick and with no reasoning. Just when you think it's over and you can be done it's only 30 minutes in and then you keep getting a false hope every 5 minutes! You have no interest in the characters, no lead up and connections that make you even care! And then when you just wish you had your time and money back- seriously- it's a "what's happening" moment in multiple time frames, and then it's like they ran out of time and pulled the fire alarm!! Everyone out- it's over.

Low production value, extremely poor acting, and lots of plot holes. However, if you embrace the awfulness of the movie, you can find humor in it. I laughed my ass off. It was so bad I ran to the reviews on here to see what was being said. I had never laughed so hard.
Shoutout to the guy in the reviews who wanted to walk out but didn't wanna waste the $1.50 he spent on his movie ticket and he wanted to finish his popcorn first. Lmao. Legend.
Also to the people like me who just needed to make an account to write this.
Overall, I do think it is worth watching this movie if you have some time to kill. I was pulled in at the beginning, curious to see what was going to happen next. I laughed and I had a great time.
