Is anybody watching this for any other reason then to drool over Ben Shephard? He is insanely handsome, he's a wonderfully nice chap, friendly, kind, hard to imagine him being mean to any of the contestants, but let's face it the show is so uninspiring. I am really surprised to see it's still going after almost a decade, so many great game shows haven't lasted half as long. Truly the most exciting thing about the show is seeing what fabulous suit Mr Shephard is wearing. The contestants can be annoying, but I don't remember seeing any unpleasant ones. How big is that machine? That's what I want to know.

Are Tipping Point questions too easy or is it meant for primary school children's viewing?
A typical question and answer may be as follows-
Ben -
"What fruit is orangey flavoured, orange in colour and has a chocolate version made by Terry's?"
Contestant -
"Is it a Cadbury Cream Egg?"
Maybe not but comes close.
Maybe not but comes close.
...just how little English contestants know about the history of their own country. Program after program their lack of knowledge is astounding. Example, King Canute came to the throne in 1018..was her from Russia, Spain or Denmark. She thought it sounded Spanish but guessed the correct answer, Denmark. An embarrassment to the state of general knowledge in the UK...BTW...I'm Australian
We have young contestants that need to be grouped together to give one of them a chance to win some money to many old money grabbers on young contestants not getting a chance they need money for their future .I admire that they apply to be on the programme we need to
Look after the young people for future to many old people on tipping point and I've watched it since it started. Years ago it's not just elderly that need money .things are costing more for young ones who want to go to university or have a family to support.costa are contiinuely going up meaning less can get to university and we need these people for the country's future.

Another quiz show in Britain that faces stiff competition in the field from several others on ITV. Like is usually the case, the Brits really hype up the quiz show with catchy themes and devices to add entertainment value. The device here of course is the tipping point "machine" in which contestants win counters to put into the machine for answering questions correctly hoping to tip over other counters in order to add money to their bank. You can learn some trivia knowledge if you watch the show enough.
However, the show compared to its competition is a little repetitive. Ben Shephard is fine as a host but does not have the same flare to him as Bradley Walsh on the Chase.
Overall it's still a quality quiz show that lets you somewhat play along with whoever you are watching it with. I can't imagine watching it on my own though calling out answers.
One other part that feels a bit off to me is that players can spend the entire hour building up their bank and it all just gets removed unless they have won the show. Usually most shows offer contestants some chance at keeping what they've already won. The mystery tokens also seem like rather cheap prizes a lot of the time.
Overall it's not your first choice game show, but it's not bad if there's nothing else on and you need to burn a little time and want a distraction.

The show panders to those who struggle to watch anything more high octane than what constitutes basic auditory and visual stimulation. Here these two boxes are ticked nicely by a platform moving forwards and backwards to the tune of falling coins. Some people worry about gameshows which ask difficult questions about obscure facts but you need not worry about tipping point. The questions are humorously easy and your mind will only be distracted by the frequent insipid comments made by the uninspiring host Ben Shepard whilst you are trying to concentrate on the moving platform as well as the last traces of your soul as you ask yourself why you are wasting your precious hours on earth, watching people play a stupid arcade game.
My wife and I like the show. Todd is a good host and makes the contestants feel at ease.
The problems: 1. To me the most annoying and worst problem is the dreaded "edge surfer". This happens regularly often several times in a show. If it has happened in the English version I can't recall it. It is annoying and, although it can happen to.any contestant, not really fair. Wouldn't need much to fix it, just a very small, thin strip added to the top of the vertical surface.
2. Two turns in the last round (senior's moment, can't remember what is called) before the jackpot round. It really doesn't allow a contestant trailing by a few time or opportunity to catch up.
3. Bring back the penalty pot. It can easily be done by cutting out, or cutting back, a lot of the repeat stuff.
4. Todd often seems to "make the decision" re the drop zone in the jackpot round. Do a Ben Shephard (English host) and ask the contestant which drop zone.
Saying all that it is a very good show that can be made better. We always watch it.

Please please please can we have minus ratings. This is so unbelievably bad we have no clue why it's still running. Watching paint dry? 100% more interesting.

And it coincides with those beautifully crafted discs of excitement tumbling down the shelf of treachery. One moment I'm racking my brain to questions akin to that of University Challenge, the next I find myself perched on the tip of my sofa ready to tumble myself! A high octane and beautifully constructed game show, my tip? Watch Tipping Point.

"Lidl" is normally mentioned around 35 times each episode along with 30 instances of "boddom" and "bedder", 15 of "pudding", several "raddled" downs and the word "nicely" inserted into every other sentence. This Essex boy should issue his own Pidgin English Dictionary and receive significant advertising revenue from the Lidl supermarket chain. Tipping Point should be viewed muted with subtitles. Even better, or should I say bedder, verbatim subtitles would increase viewer figures substantially which could catapult the program to primetime on Saturdays outgunning X factor and The Voice UK. Oh dear ITV, is Ben the best you can come up with?

I am never going to turnover to watch tipping point. It's one of those that I'll watch for a few minutes with a pained expression, questioning how it's kept going for so long. Watching their giant pusher going steadily back and forth is a cross between hypnotic and painfully dull. The questions are on the easy side. So dull.

It used to be tea time chat shows that dominated the late afternoon/early evening slots on weekdays, but now game-shows seem to be in vogue and that explains why we end up with twaddle like Tipping Point.
While the concept is simple enough (many of them aren't) and Ben Shepherd is a good enough host what can't be escaped is the fact that the game isn't very exciting at all. You could go to any arcade and play Tipping Point. OK, the money on offer probably wouldn't be as high and you wouldn't be filmed (other than on CCTV) but at least you wouldn't have to be cut off every ten minutes for an ad break.
The less said about the so-called Celeb editions (why are these so compulsory!) the better.

Have just watched Tipping Point screened on 9/11/21 in Australia. A question was asked which animal was an egg laying mammal. Gaynor answered that it was a platypus and was told she was wrong and that the correct answer was an echidna. In fact both platypus and echidna are egg laying mammals. How disappointing that the researchers can't ensure the facts are correct.
Pathetic does not compere with UK version.
5 categories instead of six in the final part 30 seconds instead of 45 seconds to answer as many questions as possible. The preceding two make the odds more in favour of TV Chanel. Aussie rip off .The host has no finesse or charisma and is a total bore. The audience participation is pathetic. Absolutely no professionalism My friends and I will not be watching this version of tipping point, but will continue to watch the UK version I would prefer to watch "Who wants to be a millionaire" with Eddy, he was always professional.
This is in my opinion of a 3rd rate programme. Just take it off.

Tipping point is a boring inane show. Very stilted. Todd's voice is whiny. He does not have great rapport with either the contestants or the audience. No replacement for the warm engaging Millionaire show with Eddie. A prime time slot on television demands a much more professional show than this. I feel Chanel 9 is deteriorating in programs lately. Talking with others we are all of the same opinion. The shows do not reflect the interests of a majority of its audience. Time for a change I feel, perhaps it comes from the top but Chanel 9 needs to read their viewers better. Times change and so should television programs.

I was just watching tipping point Australia and the contestant had a gold star in Collum 1.
The contestant selected Collum 1.
The black disc came out and it was like it was in slow motion falling down.
Probably being guided down with magnets.l watch a video clip of the same show in the UK, The disc fell and settled, but then it moved by itself So people, nothing is what it seems to be, the slide of a hand, push of a button or ever a disc falling in a game show.
If your going to manipulate the game show, at least do it so it's not noticeable .
Who would had thought.
This show is a con !!!!

I like the programme, it's actually good entertainment and one can learn, join in and see the questions it is for the folks watching on tv ( unlike Pointless which as as its name suggests Pointless. Not a show for the home audience as the questions are not on the screen long enough and the hosts take up too much time talking to each other taking the limelight from the contestants ) Ben Shepherd is an excellent host and seems a nice guy my only grumble is he repeats the questions that the contestants have alreasy answered correctly there is no need for that seems a bit of time wasting and finishes a question which he started but ran out of time. The loosing contestants should take home what they manage to win or do they anyway? I'm not sure! Maybe they should start off playing for points then switch to pounds. PLEASE STOP REPEATING THE QUESTION even the ones contestants have got right it's annoying time wasting and feels like your just being PEDANTIC, PATRONISING AND SARCASTIC to the players when they don't do well answering the questions. As for the new format my theory is it's so they can fit more adverts in the programme! Btw 24 May 24 contestant Patsy was enchanting ♥ her!
What do you get when you purchase a penny pusher, increase it in size, and put into a studio set? You get this very popular ITV Game Show produced by Zodiak Media/Banijay's RDF Television division, and hosted by breakfast TV personality Ben Shephard.
When it first premiered in 2012, Tipping Point was a summer filler programme when The Chase was on it's usual summer break, and you'd think it would just end up how it did. Well, you'd be wrong! The show has been running for over nine years and is still going strong!
The concept is simple enough: Four contestants answer general knowledge questions, and whatever they get right they get awarded counters that go in the giant machine, and must win the most money to head into the next round, or otherwise you're eliminated. Within the second season, they introduced star counters where you win spot prizes, and sometime later they introduced double-counters
Then, the same thing happens (while including a head to head round) until there's one left. Then, they'd put the jackpot counter in, and see if they can reach it to the bottom to win that sweet £10,000! It's worth it, too!
Now, onto other stuff. Ben Shephard is fine as a host, he used to be a bit bland and one-dimensional, but he's gotten better at it now. He's a bit of a hugger, so when you win the £10,000, watch out! His popular Ben Hugs are not escapable! The set is quite dark and simplistic, and it's not overloaded with LED lights and nightclub-looking sets.
Lastly, are the flaws. There are way too many ad breaks, and overall the rounds are way too short for this reason otherwise, couldn't you just make the rounds longer and the ad breaks longer! Secondly, the show is quite one-dimensional, so it gets predicable and boring quickly. Lastly, some contestants are quite dumb, with some acting like that on purpose, but that's to be expected in game shows all the time.
Overall, Tipping Point is a pretty good game show. It's not as entertaining as some others, but it's still decent otherwise.

Hi Ben
TIPPING POINT is my absolute favourite show and if I'm home, NOTHING makes me miss it.
I LOOOOOVE the show and you are a presenter of note!
Sadly, I have noticed that the show is rigged. Why do I say that? Well, I am totally convinced that you guys spin the tokens to your liking. I tried to do everything I can to convince myself that it is not true, but unfortunately there is to much evidence to the contrary. The last one being a token that was dropped down DROPZONE 2. It hit the bottom and spun to the left so hard, that it hit the wall and bounced back more than half way, simply just to roll (or should I say spin, because it was fast) all the way way back left to the wall again. Something, because of the law of physics, is absolutely impossible, unless it has been spun viciously.
You will very likely deny this. However I would ask you not to. If I am wrong, then put lines or dots or whatever you wish on the tokens and prove to us that I'm wrong.
I wish I never had to write this, but I believe it is necessary, Kindly Daniel.
P. S. Doing the spinning of the counters only takes place once the JACKPOT COUNTER is included. If it is left, you spin the tokens right and vica versa.
Which puts more proof to what I'm saying, because in the earlier rounds you do not do so. The counters are all over the drop zones - left, right and middle.
