Justis

This film is a beautiful film that perfectly expresses what it means to be a part of a team. The leading cast does a phenomenal job at displaying the hardships of what competition brings out of a tight-nit group. Performances aside, the film is beautifully shot with a variety of unique cinematography being displayed. The dance sequences are fabulously integrated into the storyline and help build the tensions and stakes of the characters. The soundtrack is also extremely complimentary to the storyline and helps bring out and emphasize the dance sequences. This film exudes a certain warmth and comfort that reminds you what it's like to be a teenager.

This film was amazing!

To start, the three lead actors did a phenomenal job. The strength of the bond Justis, Taj, and Drey shared made their performances feel very real. I ended up becoming super invested in the growth and changes in their relationships with one another. I was super engaged from start to finish.

Just from watching the film, I can tell that the script is really good. The film does a beautiful job of inclusive casting that is often poorly executed in Hollywood, whereas this felt very meaningful/purposeful. The story is great and the stakes are clear. It's obvious that a lot of heart was behind the making of this film.

I give props to writer/producer/director Jordan Banks for creating Justis, and I'm super excited to see what he does next.
