Lie Yan

Very nice drama. Different from the usual xian xia romance drama. It talks about wu geng gathers different ethnics and fight against evil gods that torture them for thousand years. It has friendship, kinship and love. Fast paced drama, fantastic CGI, unexpected plot twist no cheesy romance. Every character in the drama has significant existence. Not a one man show, it displays the importance of teamwork.

I love how they portray women characters, no discrimination between male and females. Equal status, equally powerful. That's something quite rare in most Chinese drama.

It also shows how parents go all out to protect their kids in order to give them a better future.

This is such a good drama.

The play is adapted from the anime "Wu Geng Ji". It tells the story of Wu Geng, a prince of the human race who was reduced to a slave after his country was destroyed and his family was destroyed. He avenged his parents and clan while inheriting the legacy of the late king and leading the human race, Yiyin clan, The story of the Yao Tribe and the Sea Spirit Tribe resisting the oppression of the New Yi Tribe .Wu Geng (played by Ren Jialun), a prince of the human race who fell into Pingyang, experienced family destruction and death, and became a slave at the bottom of the mine. You are invited to watch Ren Jialun's Flame.

The story of this c-drama is good, no doubt because it is adapted from a popular chinese comic. The acting is just the same in quality like you can see in all other c-dramas. Some of the characters' designs have been changed a bit or so much that almost unrecognizable, like the lead protagonist. If i don't read the drama's title, i would think he was just some martial artist in a chinese wuxia drama, totally unrecognizable as Wu Geng.

While the story is good and interesting to keep me watching, unfortunately the fighting and CGI quality are just average, if i don't say bad. Japan can make a badass adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho with superior CGI and fighting scenes, why China can't?
