The first 66% of this game is a decently fun adventure with an extremely exhausting gameplay loop much like P4AU. It's like the same visual novel 'yap' as the mainline Persona games but without the great presentation and theatrics.

The adventure consists of watching a guy get mentally tortured for a while, which is great, as the Phantom Thieves chime in whenever they can with words of wisdom and acts of courage based on experiences they have had in their lives. One could think this game to be a filler game, and if they did they would at least have to say that it is at least valuable in the sense of its own story, adding two great characters as well as some easy but fun combat.

Now, the final third of the game turns it from a 6-7/10 time to a solid 8/10 experience. THAT cutscene just went too hard. Great characters who are presented in the least flattering way with visual novel antics and a few cutscenes sprinkled in still come out as some of the best characters in the whole series. Good stuff but probably not for everyone. Having to read combined with adjusting to the art style might be a big pill to swallow for some.
