Wooden top acting, predictable
Don't waste your time.
Apart from the terrible acting the scene that made crack up with laughter was when he tried to use the telephone he said the line is dead, the wires have been cut ..... How can he know whether the wires have been cut or has the telephone exchange burnt down?
I waited for Buster Crabbe to appear as Flash Gordon to save the day.
Does anyone watch these movies before they are released to the general public? I had to force myself to keep watching because I thought it might improve, but it only got worse, the scene where they are fighting on the beach was terrible acting.

Don't be fooled by the presence of John Cusack (despite him being good again in support) - WWII mystery drama "Fog Of War" is cheap schlock. Injured US pilot Jake Abel & his intelligence agent fiancée Brianna Hildebrand visit the rural Maine farm of her uncle Cusack & aunt Mira Sorvino... where a Nazi spy is apparently based. But who is it? Any of the family, or either farm hands Géza Röhrig and/or David B Meadows? Luke Langsdale's debut screenplay had vague promise (tho its big twist is obvious from a way off) but second-time director Michael Day squanders it into a cheesie, tv-standard melodrama. There was promise here... but it's ultimately a turd. Flush it away.
A completely mishmash movie where I suspect even the director and the writers didn't fully understand what it's all about, including myself.
It's too simple and convoluted at the same time, not so predictable because all shrouded in idiotic mystery and when you suspect some truth the movie is already finished with that lame Gene crying on his life and lost love.
It looks like a movie made in the 1940s in color straight to a 1970s video cassette.
I didn't dislike it, but something's off and artificial about it.

That this movie had potential. Poor acting all around. Unfortunately John Cusack didn't seem to save the movie as I was hoping. But he was in barely 10 minutes maybe. He hasn't seemed to like acting much as his past few performances for the most part seem "called in". I wish he would put as much effort into his roles as he does on his X (Twitter Account) as he is on there 24/7 with some political gripe. Honestly, this one didn't land for me.
While the movie looks good , the cinematography and the setting are solid ,the story itself feels cliche and uneven. The script tries to build suspense but ends up dragging, with totally predictable twists you can see coming a mile away.
John Cusack, like I said, is barely in it, which was disappointing if you went in hoping for a decent role from him. The rest of the cast does their best, but the characters aren't given much depth to work with.
It had the potential to be a gripping wartime mystery, but the pacing issues and weak writing really let it down. If you're looking for a strong WWII thriller or a good Cusack performance, I'd say skip this one.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizDirector Michael Day chose a small-town playhouse to shoot the hospital scenes with lead actor Jake Abel, and supporting actors Greg Nutcher and Thomas Weissmuller. Weissmuller began acting in the same playhouse in the early 1970s. Fog of War was Weissmuller's first movie, prompting a pause and collective, "that's so cool" moment during framing as the shoot began.
