Bonkers Kung Fu Comedy 'Zenithal' Trailer About a Giant D* Weapon

"He's a monster who creates monsters." Dark Star Pictures has revealed the US trailer for a totally bonkers action comedy from France titled Zénithal, made by genre filmmaker Jean-Baptiste Saurel. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest last year and played at other genre fests - ready for a spectacular big D release in the US this summer. A well-endowed adult film star turned Kung Fu master is maniacally murdered by an evil villain in his destructive quest for power and male domination, leaving the students to avenge him and restore peace. While they try to save their relationship, Francis finds himself accused of the murder of his former rival Ti-Kong. Fleeing from the police, Francis falls into the clutches of a rogue surgeon, determined to defend male domination at any cost. Apocalyptic Thriller ‘Bury Your Dead’ Lands North American Deal With Dark Star Pictures, Releases Teaser (Exclusive)

Marco Dutra’s “Bury Your Dead” has been acquired by Dark Star Pictures for North American distribution. The deal was closed by Berlin-based sales agent M-Appeal. A teaser is debuted below.

The Brazilian production, which premiered at the 2024 Sitges Film Festival and has since screened at several festivals including London, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro, is slated for a festival tour in the U.S. ahead of a theatrical release this fall.

Dark Star Pictures’ recent titles include “Baby” (also represented by M-Appeal), “Zenithal” and “Kidnapping Inc.”

“’Bury Your Dead’ is a postapocalyptic journey through many different genres of film, culminating in a unique cinematic world,” said Michael Repsch, president of Dark Star Pictures. “We are ecstatic to be working with such a great talent in Marco Dutra. His vision for this film is the kind of project Dark Star strives to find and bring to audiences.”

Canada’s Oscar Entry ‘Universal Language’ Directed by Matthew Rankin Sells Widely for Best Friend Forever (Exclusive)

Canada’s Oscar entry “Universal Language,” a critically acclaimed movie directed by Matthew Rankin, has been acquired by distributors in most major territories ahead of its North American premieres at Toronto and New York Film Festival.

Represented worldwide by Brussels-based company Best Friend Forever, the movie world premiered at this Cannes Directors’ Fortnight where it won the inaugural People’s Choice Award. Following Toronto and New York, the movie will go on to play at Fantastic Fest and Festival du Nouveau Cinema as the festival opener. “Universal Language” also won the Bright Horizons Best Film Award at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
