Dear Hongrang

Great riveting story with amazing cinematography and topped by a great cast of actors!

The 11 episodes just go by so quickly as the story is extremely interesting and keeps viewers second guessing everything throughout the entire run. The camera work during action scenes is well orchestrated and quite unique, adding a great element to already well done action sequences. Every character is well layered and each actor convincingly portrays those layers and intricacies.

Also, Lee Jae-wook once again proving he has insane chemistry with every single actor he acts with, be they love interests or antagonists.

Seriously a good watch.

This was a nice surprise from Netflix. From the very begining you jump right into action, no time is wasted on dragging scenes and no redundant dialogue. It' about a long lost son of a wealthy and powerful family and the people around him on how they manage to keep up with their lives after he was lost,what they did to look for him and what happens after they eventualy do find him. The series is packed with fast moving scenes,fights,mistery and strong leads. It's not the usual cringy K-drama love but more a hate-love dynamic all over.

I like that it's placed in Joseon and they wraped it all up in only 12 episodes. Great for binge watchig!

This is a rather dark aesthethic for a K-drama. The mood is a mix of The Fortress and Brotherhood of the Wolf.

As usual, Cho Bo-ah delivers a compelling performance (the well scene was poignant), and she looks absolutely exquisite. She's such an underrated actress! Please give her more roles.

There's undeniable chemistry between the leads, but their time together is too short. The ending was a bit rushed, and two of the villains didn't get what they deserve, which isn't something you usually complain about when it comes to K-dramas.

Without giving away spoilers, I'd say this isn't for the faint of heart, but it's definitely binge-worthy.

Dear Hongrang is not your typical K-drama. It's a tragic, poetic exploration of trauma, power, and identity set against the backdrop of ritualistic tradition and corrupted belief. The storytelling is rich in symbolism - every snowflake, brushstroke, and silence carries weight. Lee Jae Wook delivers a heartbreaking performance as a boy turned into a sacred object, used and discarded by those obsessed with fate. Jo Bo Ah's character adds emotional depth as someone who learns to see the human behind the mask.

This isn't a drama that offers easy closure or conventional romance - it lingers with you, asks difficult questions, and quietly devastates. A masterpiece of mood and meaning.

I bridged the drama over two days as I could not stop watching it. The cinematography and acting are amazing. I love the storyline and how slowly we are getting to the truth. Not a single episode was boring. The chemistry between the leads is awesome! I love the bond Jae I and Hong Rang had. Their eyes speak for themselves. The fighting scenes were great as well. It was a real surprise to see the real villain. I will not say more to avoid spoilers.

The OST is great, so fitting to the drama. It is not a typical drama; it is dark, and with each episode, there is more suffering, but it is a beautiful story of two people who try to protect each other. The last episode was very emotional.
