'Enter the Clones of Bruce Lee' 10/10
Finally managed to relax & watch this with my full attention!
The Bruce lookalikes or Clones as they're best called, got me and other Lee fans through a drought of not having the little Dragon around.
This documentary explains and pays homage to the clones that filled a well needed gap!
Tirelessly researched by my friend Frank Djeng and Michael Worth who also presents the film taking us through this fascinating journey!
It's a must watch for any Kung Fu movie fan and with the newly released 'Clones of Bruce Lee' giving us over a dozen of the movies showcased here, it gives us the background we need.
Packed with extras, over 3.5hrs and of course a great commentary track.
My wife Siouxsie Surman watched this with me and even though she's not a kung fu nut like me, she was also impressed with the detail and research. Although she did say she enjoyed Frank's Enter the Dragon location visits in Hong Kong the most, which is also on the extras.
You have......my.....gratitude!

Entertaining documentary, very interesting and thoughtful interviews from many of the key players involved with various bruce lee exploitation films from the actors to production staff and distributors etc. Bruce Li, Dragon lee and others reflect on their time shooting multiple low budget features after the untimely passing of Bruce Lee. The documentary is very well produced and thorough in its appraisal of the cinema of these largely forgotten kung fu classics and treats these films with some respect. The only let down is the Valerie Sou segments thatt offer absolutely nothing in terms of knowledge of the genre or anything that hasn't been said many times before.
This is a movie I heard about from Fantastic Fest from last year and since then I've been waiting for this movie to come out so that I could watch it. Now I finally watch Enter the Clones of Bruce (2024) and it was awesome.
Positives for Enter the Clones of Bruce (2024): It was really fascinating to watch this documentary movie and learn about the history of Bruceploitation movies. It was also cool to see all of the actors who were in these movie even including Jackie Chan. I loved learning about how the filmmakers behind these movie were inspired by Bruce Lee to make their own versions of his movie, while also allowing the actors to make their characters stand out from Bruce Lee.
Overall, if you love Bruce Lee movies and the many Bruceploitation movies, than you'll have a fascinating and interesting time watching this documentary.

The film is pretty good because the subject matter is fascinating, but the actual documentarian skills could have been better. I was annoyed that at one point someone was talking about the novel variations on the nunchaku that were innovated by Dragon Lee, but not in what films they were featured. In my opinion, every bit of film footage could have had an on-screen citation displayed. Also, there was not enough discussion of the different martial arts disciplines that each actor had studied and how that influenced the choreography. They could have even done split screen comparisons. The people who put this together did a good job getting interviews and sharing footage, but I think there could have been more depth with detail, especially in regard to how choreography was done and how the actors were discovered. In the end I was left a bit dissatisfied.
