The story is based on a novel published in 1947: 'On est toujours trop bon avec les femmes' un roman irlandais de Sally Mara traduit par Michel Presle. It was reprinted in 1962 in 'Les Oeuvres completes de Sally Mara', acknowledging the real author Raymond Queneau. It was turned into a film in 1971 'On est toujours trop bon avec les femmes' directed by Michel Boisrond. This Spanish version transposes the original occupation of a post Office om Sackville Street in Dublin during the 1916 Easter Rising by seven Republican Nationalist to Spain in 1940 by retreating Republican Maquis.
