Average movie, average story, above average acting

Rekha is a total waste of time, because there is no story to start with. The main character Rekha was portrayed well by the main lead, however, the film fails in keeping up with the story line. I felt like this movie was created just to showcase the main lead's stunt skills. Kasaragod slang was a surprise but not a boost for the movie.

Majority of the scenes in the movie focused on building up a big mystery but it came out too predictable. Obscene amounts of cursing made it look like the director is trying too hard to get into the 'new trend' genre. In a nut shell, this move can definitely be skipped because there is nothing new if you already watched 22 f kottayam.

A movie that didn't work for me

Rekha is a well written revenge story. But, it just didn't work for me. Maybe this is my inherent bias, but I really don't like Vincy Aloysius's acting. And in this movie, there were times went she, let's say, went full psycho, which wasn't really required for the role. Other times she held fort, but those moments really spoiled it for me. The male protagonist was okay, so we're the rest of the characters. Another criticism was that the movie was unnecessarily slow and laggy in parts where it didn't need to be. Also, the transformation of the male lead into the villain was quite abrupt and incomplete, I felt Roshan Andrews's character in Kappela was better written and executed. This felt like a bit of a miss. Had high hopes, but wasn't happy with this movie.

Rakha trill

Rekha character is well portrayed but not so powerful. Which keep the script appropriate on the track. It shows only there stunt skill and uncessarialy laggy in the some of part which make me sleepy and bore at a period of time. I felt Roshan Andrews character in kappela was good executed . The story line is adequate but not so powerful to make the people excited to follow up the story continued.

The acting and screenplay of the story was decent but not appropriate and justified the character of the story. The main part half an hour of the movie was quite ordinary with not much of a glimpse of a potential.

There's mostly only cinematography

Cinematography carries the movie. And maybe a little bit of her acting. Could've been a short film- 40mins. You don't get too much backstory and character understanding. It felt like everyone was cartoonized.

The colors were beautiful. Acting from her was interesting. Wish we got to know the characters more for how long the film was. Very average otherwise.

The movie is extremely slow. 10 mins for each sentence slow. The main climax had no believability either. It just felt like they picked something random and went with it to drive the whole plot. Definitely a movie you'll totally forget or remember because it was so painfully slow.

Revenge story not revengeful enough

Unnecessarily slow paced for the sake of being an artistic film. The acting and plot was decent. Cinematography was really good for this genre. Felt like the qst half of movie spent more in her doing detective work to find out the whereabout of the dads killed.

Brilliant screenplay; Rekha is thrilling

Jitin Isaac Thomas, the director and writer of the film has managed to make everything beautiful in the way a small story can be made beautiful. The film managed to hold the me for two hours with a thrilling script and variety in the making.

Another highlight of the film is the powerful screenplay. The film proceeds without giving a clue as to what will happen next.

The cinematographer has been able to capture the life and lifestyle of Rekha perfectly. The kasargod style dialogues add some freshness to the story.

Vincy Aloysious' & Unni Lalu's exceptional performance and the good script make Rekha a profound thriller and a must-watch.

Netflix should add 2x speed

This is a slow paced movie like extremely slow. Netflix should add 2x speed for such moviea. The opening credits scene is just about coconut being carried in Activa front side for 3 mins. In first half most of the time is spent on just long chatting , talking by lovers over phone. The romance scene is also stretched very long.. after tragedy happens its just about revenge. There is not much of thrill in finding the culprit. The lady easily finds the culprit but again unnecessarily the scenes are stretched. Some decent action scenes at the end and it's predictable lengthy.. Another irritating thing is the same heavy background music is used in most of the scenes. Acting is average from both leads. Only cinematography is good in this movie.

A youth centric film about youngsters' dependence on the relationship

Rekha is the rare movie that succeeds on almost every level, where each character, scene, costume, and joke firing on all cylinders to make a film worth repeated viewings.

This movie was amazing I love the twist ending, the subtext, visuals, setting, and acting..... My wife hates this movie, I absolutely love it. I could sit down and watch it from start to finish no matter what I am doing..... Yeah, this is cheating, but they are so well connected and interwoven that I will defend to the death that this is THE BEST MOVIE TRILOGY OF ALL TIME!

Brilliant actors no more words to articulate about it....need more movies please try to dub it in every language....

Rekha movie made my day Such a wonderful movie Unni Lalu just nailed it man Both of Unni and Vincy done an outstanding performance.

Especially Vincy, Her performance is just out of the world She's gonna get a national award for playing Rekha in such a way There's no doubt in that.

She literally deserves it.

And yha , I think this is that moment where we all have that real proud feeling I'm so happy that you showed that courage to play such a negative role and you did the best.

There is no escape. The second half is not like the first half. There is a twist before Interval. Uffff. Everyone should experience the theater itself.

The movie was intense!!!

It's hard to describe Rekha's effect because the movie was quite intense😳 It was a display of excessive fury mixed with passionate love and insanity

DELICIOUS

Rekha was so different from Jithin's Freedom Fight and Attention Please as it delved into young women's inner being and unleashed a power never before seen on screen

We got to experience Rekha's fighting soul and sheer determination to defy society's norms of the typical woman.

Even her dress code made a bold statement about her conservative values and modern/fierce attitude. The name 'Rekha' itself (meaning 'line') showed that if anyone crossed her limits, she was going to wake up the sleeping beast in her

All the actors performed fantastically, kudos to Vincy and Unni who held the ship together👊🏾 We believed all the emotions they released: fury, passionate love, lust, disgust, rage, anguish, and insanity (is insanity an emotion?🤔)

The camera's diverse movements and angles elevated the film's dimension by giving us more insights into how Rekha was feeling and the eerie environments.

The soundtracks were superb! They started out with calming voices and vibes, then increased the momentum by switching to hard rock as the scenes became more intensive

'Rekha' was an important wake-up call for young women who succumb to the pressure of being in relationships and for women who let society define them

BLAND

Our little negative was the extent to which intimacy and nudity were shown deflating the great energy the movie possessed and not serving much of a purpose.

An unsettling revenge movie

The initial half an hour of the movie was quite ordinary with not much of a glimpse of a potential masterpiece. But as the story moves along, it picks up pace and leaves you stunned in the end.

Jithin Issac Thomas and Vincy Aloshious kills it with nuanced performances and superb detailing. It's just not a revenge drama, but one with a subtle message delivered by the main protagonist Rekha towards end - the peer pressure of the need for a 'line' or relationship made her fall for Arjun with disastrous consequences. Unni Lalu plays the role of Arjun, a complex seemingly harmless personality. His unveiling to the audience from being a simple, smiling guy in a shop to a vicious psychopath was very well taken. Overall, a great movie.

Top Knotch Performance

Firstly when i am writing this review. I could think only of Vinci Aloshious. Take a bow girl. You are a champion performer. I was spellbound by the acting skills. Incredible performance with such a challenging role in display.

Unni Lal equally deserves a pat on the back for an amazing performance. But it was Vincy all the way. Not an easy role to do by any means. You nailed it.

Jithin Isaac Thomas what a brilliant subject you have touched upon as a director to give a stellar performance. Wonderful work by your team.

Two main take away from the movie is. Just because someone is in a relationship. It doesn't mean you apply pressure on yourselves to be in their shoes. Secondly "Excessive of anything is bad" it might be lust, greed, or anything you want in life.

Awesome and progressive Movie

The movie is a thrilling masterpiece that captivates audiences with its attention to detail. It offers a unique perspective on intense fear, which is rarely explored in Malayalam cinema from the male viewpoint. Additionally, it sheds light on the often-overlooked mental health struggles of ordinary people.

The director skillfully leaves it up to viewers to guess which game Rekha was involved in, but my guess would be wrestling. This thought-provoking film challenges viewers' perceptions and is a true eye-opener.

Although the slang used may be challenging to understand at times, it adds to the authenticity of the movie. The lead actors deliver outstanding performances, as advertised in the movie poster, which accurately characterizes it as a dark film. Throughout the movie, the scarcity of light is evident, further adding to its intensity.

Good direction and acting.

A gripping tale of love struck couple in rural Kerala.. the story tbh is mediocre but the direction, screenplay, acting is all excellent.

Started watching this movie expecting not much and was completely surprised, the movie is intense and gripping, The story revolves around a girl who feels cheated not in love but in trust.

The actress in the movie does full justice to her character.

Never was there a dull moment watching the movie.

Song and music is good and upto the mark.

The best part I would gaian mention is the direction. Loved it.
