The Pursuit of Red X

Pursuit of Red X was one of the most creative movies I've ever seen produced outside of the "professional" film industry. I was informed the script as well as all the music was written by the producer .. this guy is incredibly talented in my opinion. The insight to even put a murder mystery to music is genius! The cinematography is as well done as anything you see on CSI or NCIS. I also found the female singer's voice is as good or better than any well know professional - I wish she would enter "The X Factor" or "The Voice". Overall, I think this movie was by far the best show at the Third Street Film Festival. I'm looking forward to seeing lots more from these guys. LOVED IT!

I think red x was a unique original thriller. To have a murder musical was a genius. Very creative. i think the film camera quality was good with great acting. This movie reminded me of a Alfred Hitchcock twilight zone twist.I think this movie represented the city of Baton Rouge well at the third street film festival. Also the city of New Orleans & the state of louisiana for its budding film makers!! The title is very good. Its name alone has you on the edge of your seat!! I hope the actors, directors, writers of this great script goes on to win many awards for their great work. i can't wait to see what this production team comes up with next. I also look forward to he next third street film festival in Baton Rouge!!!!

I thought that this film was pretty damn good. Especially given the fact it was done with practically no budget over the course of 4 years. The story was told well and gave personality to the main characters. Visually it was well shot and cut. The acting was pretty good for this type of film(pure indie). The high point for me was the music. I am a fan of musicals, and this one, musically at least, was better than several put out by Hollywood in recent memory. Some of the numbers could be heard on the radio today. I find myself still singing some of the songs, long after i've seen it. All in all, a well done film! To me it could be a bench mark for the low budget/guerrilla filmmaker.
