W/o Dick Wolfe/TNT, and the ladies of "Cold Justice," all these aired cold cases would've never had any progression or motivation to solve. All would've fallen through the cracks. Suspects never caught and tried. Families would've never had answers for closure. The aired cases prove more into fowl play than missing/runaways. This show proves the majority of people don't run away. As adults, police tend to only have that answer when evidence becomes overlooked. "Cold Justice" transfers old cases extremely well to TV. Some crime do-cu-drama's can tend to be slow. Especially, when there's a lot of dialogue. Dick Wolfe has a way of making viewers tune-in without expecting filmed re-enactment's. Even cases that are w/o a crime-scene, body, or living suspect. I've been hooked since the 1st episode. I hope "Cold Justice" will make it to the 10 year mark!
I am a huge fan of this show. Learning about each case and the way they move through the information to consider every angle is interesting. But what I find most intriguing is the psychology of everyone from the victim's families, to the detective and police offers working the case, to the suspects and of course Siegler and McClary. In this show you see law enforcement officials who really care about their community. You see the way they interact with both suspects and victim's family. You see suspects and informants that gives clues to the crime and their own complex psychology.
In the last episode I saw, a man talked about how he was offered money to kill someone else. He said that if it wasn't for the fact that he was in jail that night instead, he would have killed that person. He said he was really glad he was in jail that night. And I just thought that was so interesting in terms of the choices we make at different parts of our lives and how we have the ability to change.
In a day and age where Desperate Housewives with celebrity blood lust and too much money let their immature behavior reign, this is a much needed reprieve from the kind of women we see crowding TV. I'm tired of seeing women who behave badly. I am tired of the obsession with everything Kradashian. I'm tired of shows like Bridezilla and the Bachelor where women act catty, shallow and selfish. This show shows two women who are nothing but genuine in their quest for justice and to help people. Despite how other posters reviewed the ladies, I don't think they are smug at all. I find them kind, sensitive, intelligent..truly good examples of women, for women.
I don't need to see lots of blood and chase scenes and gore to find something to have value. People always complain about how reality TV isn't "real". I think this is pretty darn close to being pretty real.

Shows the viewer some very disturbing and sad crimes, whilst treating the victims with respect and celebrating their life. There is good case building and reconstructions which come to a logical conclusion in identifying/verifying the perp (when there is one! / one can be identified).
Kelly and her team work very well together and all genuinely care for the victims whilst striving to put the chosen cold cases to bed. A special shout out to Johnny Bonds who is a real character!
Long may this show continue!

This show has legs and Kelly Sigler is a formidable talent when it comes to putting the pieces of these unsolved homicides into a coherent and compelling narrative. As the brother of a homicide victim I would have given my soul to have had this team of detectives involved in the investigation of the murder of my brother. There are cops who are "detectives " by nature and there are cops who simply wear the badge and despite their good intentions they simply do not have the analytical skills necessary to make a case. This team of detectives follows the dictum that if it quacks like a duck .. it's a duck! No liberal pandering around issues that today might raise a few eyebrows. Great detectives, fantastic show . Keep up the great work!
I enjoy this show best of all the many crime shows I watch. It's difficult to understand why they have had a couple of very poor reviews, but as I read those reviews I can see that the reviewers seemed upset by the strength and confidence of our female investigators. Maybe they have some problems with strong women - who knows? I know that I watch each show from start to finish with interest and enjoyment. It's great to see that not only the lady investigators but the local police and DA's who are so interested in pursuing justice for the victims and family members. I'm glad they don't drag us through every detail of their investigations but go over the highlights in a rational and illuminating manner.
