Vidura B.R. - Monsoon Season

Wonderful deadpan delivery of life seen through a Sri Lankan diasporic lense, via a throughly modern (and very self-deprecating) outlook. Having lived in the US, Germany and the UK, Vidura's got a great perspective on the absurdity of modern life. And I've known Sri Lankans were funny since I first had dinner with my extended family but Vidura's relaxed, open style - the weary troubador sat down telling tales - will allow everyone to appreciate the best in Sri Lankan humour: deceptively gentle, deeply cynical but always thoroughly charming. One to watch for sure - before he's everywhere just like Romesh.

This show is awesome: smart and witty, rare opportunity to know the beautiful and talented person with the background I know so little about.

(Vidura was born in Sri-Lanka and later moved to USA, and then to Berlin. He covers post-colonial way of thinking about "Third world countries", his mixed identity and his experience living in Europe and in USA).

I've lived in Berlin, and I can totally agree with Vidura's insights about western way of life (orgies as second full-time job, etc). HIs insights about modern Europeans are original and awesome. I'm pretty overwhelmed with the european point of view on the history and culture etc. And I do welcome such comedians as Vidura and his new approach.

Monsoon Season is a really great show! Vidura's humour will appeal to a wide range of tastes. I particularly enjoyed his anecdotes and jokes about being a brown person in the UK. I found it really relatable and incredibly funny.

I particularly enjoy Viduras voice and his long haired, super relaxed, breezy vibe. I'm not a fan of frenetic, shouty comedy, and this is neither frenetic nor shouty :) I think this comedy special is brilliant and can't wait to see future shows of his and what he comes out with next, both in live shows and new material! You definitely won't regret buying this show!!!!

The first time I saw Vidura was on a small clip on Instagram and did I laugh. I saw all of the available clips and his daily new clips really brightened my day. I was instantly hooked, what a funny funny man. His corrosive sense of humor is something else. Such intelligent jokes & so unexpected as well. He became an instant favorite for me and my family. His ability to perceive the stupidity of the world, specifically of my generation of "snow flakes" is right on point. A real natural talent and one of the funniest comedians I've ever had the pleasure to come across. I hope the universe will provide us with more of Vidura's amazing stories.

This show has an impeccable comedic rhythm that keeps you entertained from beginning to end. It's an ideal mix of humour and political education, and it is unsurprisingly going viral on many social media platforms, as even the shortest clip will contain a cleverly set punchline. Its brilliance lies in Vidura's smooth delivery of the nastiest and harshest truths on immigration and the point of view of a person of colour living in Europe, immediately followed by an explanation of why Berlin orgies are not his favourite thing. Everything about this show is just so well-timed and provocative in the best way, I guarantee you'll love it.
