Sop Dek 2002

This is the first horror that actually made me cry.

The story is told by three different couples, Trai and Pim lives happy together with their little daughter Yamai. Until one day Yamai starting to tell them she is with her little brother, but she doesn't have a brother. A young woman is pregnant but she is haunted by a baby ghost, a teenage couple is also haunted by a baby ghost. The couples have one thing in common, they made abortion before and their baby souls has come to haunt them in revenge.

This horror movie is scary yes indeed but it also touch a sensitive subject, that's why I love Thai horror movies because in their films there is a plot message. Most horror are just ghost or monster stuff to scare teenagers. But Thai movies has reasons why things are happening. I give this movie 10/10.

It's so freaking great! Absolutely loved it! I can't describe it well enough but just watch it.

I just wanted to watch a random horror movie on Netflix. Not sure what I was getting into. Odd message at the start about consequences and morality, possibly not translated to the best degree. Thought maybe due to the subject matter it was a standard government warning. Anyway, young girl starts hearing voices and other minor spooky things happen. Not very riveting until it goes full bananas the vengeful foetuses. This is one of the most f'ed up things I've ever seen. The part I find most interesting about this film is, until near the end, I couldn't tell if it was conveying a pro-life message or highlighting the health issues caused by abortion being illegal. They really shot their message in the foot. So yeah, it's pro-life horror flick and it's as wonderful as it sounds. I'm amazed the outrage brigade haven't lobbied Netflix to remove this.

No story, no horror, just an excuse to scare women into accepting their bodies are tools to make babies

It wasn't awful, but it sure was boring, filled with plot holes and so little horror in it.

Okey, let us begin: the acting was overall OK towards sometimes bad, the plot was not strange considering Asian horror cinema but the execution was lousy, the effects weak, a lot of cheesy moments mixed with plenty of chichee style. I can't believe it is considered a horror, cause I had to look real deep to find it.

Anyway, at the end, I will not recommend it, but surely I won't bash it either, it's a movie like so many others I've seen. No horror, a lot of drama, and probably, possibly, a so called life lesson here.
