A beach side hotel welcomes female guests for free stays in the off-season. Only with a dark side.
Almost the first half is a bit sluggish. Even the sex scenes (yes this is a Roman porno pink film) plod along. But there was definitely suspense building. Then the movie seems to move at a very fast clip. Yes it gets very dark tho was too engaged in the story for it to hit you too hard.
Saeko Kizuki who plays the female lead is outstanding. My favorite actress in pink films (and January 3rd is both our birthdays!) and often one of the main ingredients that make a movie work. Here she really shows her range and compares to any Hollywood actress. The rest of the cast is very good as well.
This is a Roman X movie. Nikkatsu Studios went from their Roman porno (softcore only) titles to Roman X which was to include unsimulated sex to compete in 1985 with the new to Japan, Adult Video market. But there were still laws against showing genitals, pubic hair or explicit action so it was covered on screen. In this movie they used fogging to cover. So be aware that you don't actually see anything more explicit than a regular pink film title. In fact in one scene (but not a later scene) a vibrator was fogged. The fogging is so heavy you cannot tell if there is anything explicit happening. This is not the case with all Roman X titles but definitely this one. So if that is your reason for watching you might be disappointed.
Still after a bit of a slow start this movie was exciting to watch. The ending was both a surprise and put a smile on my face. If they shortened or removed the sex scenes in the first half this would rate an 8 or 9 out of 10.
