Switch

Typically of most of the series on 'Game Show Network' 'Switch' is so geographically bigoted in terms of its contestant diversity, it amazes me how the producers of 'S' are able to be so blatantly prejudiced. In most of the shows I've seen, which admittedly aren't too many, the average Cali to non Cali participant ratio is 10-1. Many of the inane questions that are posed to the panel consisting of predominantly Calis or transplanted Calis are often even Cali based themselves. I'm not sure how GSN shamelessly gets away with its policy of geo-bigotry with shows like this (Press Your Luck is another one) but somehow the overpaid producers don't seem to care that there are 49 other states that comprise our country. The contestant vetting process, assuming one exists, needs to be overhauled so that a more geo inclusive show replaces the completely unfair 'Switch that currently exists.

This is my new favorite game show. The questions are neither ridiculously easy nor impossibly difficult. I do wish the questions on the final round were a little easier so more people would actually win.

What makes it perfection is the host, Jeff Hephner! He is one of the best hosts of a game show I have ever seen, and I go back decades! He is sooo easy on the eyes, while being witty and charming. Whoever selected him deserves kudos! I wish he could take over for Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune instead of Ryan Seacrest. Please don't cancel my favorite game show, unless you find another job for Jeff.

This show is fun and I do like the concept. Jeff is such a handsome host! My only criticism is the part where the winner has to answer questions and go up from the number 5 spot to the number 1 spot. I watch this show all the time and I have only seen 2 people win. They won with easy questions but usually some of the questions are way too difficult. I mean, it is only $10,000 which is really not a lot in the world of game shows nowadays. My suggestion to make winning more attainable would be to either have the bonus questions have multiple choice like the rest of the game or to just have the contestant not move at all with a wrong answer. This going back with a wrong answer kills any prospect of a contestant winning.

Like all the new and original games created for the GSN, this one also has a difficult bonus round. Questions start out easy but get harder as the contestant progresses...miss one and they go back (if they reach #3, miss a question, they should be able to stay there.) I've seen some get to #4 and end up back at #1. All that just for 10k?

It's the only one I like that doesn't really care who the contestants are. Most gameshows take time out to get to know them better... waste of time. In 20 minutes you won't remember or really care. Especially when there's more than 3. All we really need is "What's your name and where are you from?"...."Let's play the game".

This is a quality game show. The idea is decent. It's mostly entertaining. It also has a clear ceiling because of how random it is. There's several episodes where a person has been in first place for most of the show, only to lose out on the final in the end. There've also been various episodes where someone has been terrible for the majority of the show, barely avoided getting eliminated in the first two rounds and lucks out by getting the last question right. It is more of a luck-based show than a skill one. Knowledge is recommended, but far from a requirement. For an early evening GSN show, it's fine. But it's not as good as other shows for a reason.
