'DT' is kinda 'Shivers' with ancient evil instead of randy parasites; a drab block of flats instead of luxury apartment units. The residents of Shivers Heights are more interesting, eccentric and amusing than the clot of pervs and cadgers at Albion Court. There's murders, of course, murders the police don't bother with because of the social class of those residing therein.
Into this nasty mess arrives Sarah McColl (old fave Roxanne Carrion - who looks more like Nancy Kovack off 'Jason And The Argonauts' every time you see her) abused and alone, who soon finds herself in danger as the block - including her horror mother - is plunged into gory chaos by a witch on the top floor directing possessed, undead ghouls through her telly.
Is there tension? Are there thrills? Not really. 'DT' seems more concerned with social ills than scares. The flats are presented a worse bad than the crone (yawn). Oh, the squalor! The depravation! And with the film-makers having no real idea what to do with the first half, broad, foul-mouthed comedy and off-putting sex pads out the running time.
When everything finally does descend into blood-spurting apocalypse and orgy, Rox rises Boudicca-like amongst the carnage to save the day while remaining warm and welcoming. A tremendous advert for inner city unity.
Is there anything to recommend ? Is 'DT' a good film ? Not really. A level zero compared to 'Wolf Man' or 'Coppola's Drac' but, and there's the rub, Bill fans, I enjoyed it far more than either of those or any number of other big-budget bland-outs I've sat through. Attempts to connect ancient malevolence to modern social ills fall flat on their stupid faces. Torpid bids to be odd and hallucinatory fail so gormlessly you can't help but be charmed.
What can I tell ya . .? It sucked but I liked it . . ish.

I do not normally comment on movies but this one needs to have an alert before you watch it, it is that bad! The Devil's Tower is by far a 'b' grade movie, and yet another zombie one at that. All we see lately is zombies, there's plenty of movies that are better than this one. Roxanne Palette's acting as really gone downhill since she left soap opera's in the UK. She's had a few minor parts in other 'B' grade movies, but they were worse than this one. I watched this one for about the first 20 minutes, that was enough - If you are still in to the Zombie Feast movies then watch it, else if you are like me, you will avoid it like the plague! It must be that time of year again when writers are just throwing out all the rubbish for Halloween.
Lead actress Roxanne Pallett (now Roxanne Carrion) spent the first part of her career acting in a soap opera that is less credible than this offering, and with a higher body count. When "Devil's Tower" was released she was a few months short of her 32nd birthday, yet she passed successfully for an 18 year old. This may be a tribute to her girlyish good looks or to the painting in her attic, but that is as good as this film gets.
We've all heard of haunted houses, but a haunted tower block? When Sarah is kicked out by her no-good widowed mother, she is dumped here by social services along with a host of undesirables and a couple of squatters. Then odd things start happening; actually they'd already started; the film opens with a young couple having sex on the rooftop who end up murdering each other. A lot more claret is set to flow, but zombies created and controlled by a mysterious entity through a TV set, seriously?
There is a half-hearted attempt to add some background, but this one fails big time. Comedy horror? Horror, but not in a viewable way.

This is a sad excuse of a film.
Nothing really happened in the movie.
Z-horror flick.
Girl looked nice. Mewes looks out of place. 'Fishermen' and 'silent but deadly' where masterpieces compared to this 'homemovie'.
It was made in England and it looks like the bleakest place they could find.
Camera work was non existent and FX straight out some halloween party store.
Was some what sad because I usually root for Jason Mewes films either with Kevin Smith or with out.
Looking at the budget of this movie I think Jason Mewes got cheap. Leaped from 10+ to below zero.
I will be very cautious with the next one.

Yes, all the "gafapasta" critics will love movies were a guy/girl shows another how to live the life. Remarkable sentences and perfect attitude against tragedy. Or mature people laughing of everything because "that's life" or an stupid guy showing her narcissism but showing a "lovely imperfect" woman the world of the love, the dance, and rejecting her parents putting their job and money over the love of her family ¿Where the hell is that people? Life couldn't be further. A lot of times it's not about people attitude against tragedy, but tragedy made by stupid people, and no one gets you out or choose love before money / body... This movie has something: shows you the life of a girl who lives in a horrible world (not only "zombies" but her family, her daily problems...) but has friends to live a horrible adventure, they are very particular, and she meets the love, meets the support of her friends against all her problems, in a bizarre way (as this stupid world is) she has her own scary adventure where she is not alone. This movie has something that all Oscar "pipe made" movies hasn't got: personality. The only think I need in a movie in this world of "marvellous" and "lovely" and "emotive" and "unexpected" copies of movies in an absolutely different kind of world.
