Yup, of course another movie from Maverick Entertainment. I have a nose for distinguishing them from the cover alone, so I've watched a tad too many of their movies by now.
Right, well I have not watched the 2015 movie "The Foreign Exchange Student", so I don't know how connected the 2022 sequel is to part one, nor if it would be required or recommended to have watched the first movie prior to watching part two.
The storyline was watchable and adequate, but nothing grand or outstanding. But at least it was a step up from the many other movies from Maverick Entertainment that are of questionable and stereotypical contents. Writers Jeremy Becton and Jeremy George put together an okay enough script and storyline, but it is hardly something I would consider memorable. The narrative in the movie sort of settled into a slump and never really takes the audience on a thrill ride, which is odd, as "The Foreign Exchange Student 2: The Hunt" is a thriller. But at least the narrative was random enough to be rather unpredictable.
The only face on the screen that I was familiar with was J. D. Laguerre, whom only had a minor supportive role in the movie. The acting performances in the movie were fair.
Some of the scenes had pretty lousy sound, where there was loud background static interference or something. And that made the movie come off as being somewhat amateurish in terms of quality and post production.
Watchable, sure, but "The Foreign Exchange Student 2: The Hunt" is not a movie that I would recommend you to rush out and get to watch. Nor is it a movie that will ever grace my screen a second time.
