I watched it because of the story line. It is supposed to be based on a true life story but I have found nothing online about the incident. The film was a typical TV film and those who are judging it cant compare it to a 'real' movie'. Its like buying a budget phone and comparing it to the latest iPhone. The reviewer though who slated the cast except for Josie Davis gives a very interesting take on it seeing that the only reference to her being in the film seems to be from him. Not listed in the cast list as far as I can see and if you google it the only references to her in the film are from him.
A made for tv movie. A girl helping the police nap the killer of her mother. Creditable acting and dialogue. I wasn't bored. But I wouldn't watch it again.
Once again we have an inept leading lady attempting to act. In this case she is trying to pass herself off as a high school student. Being rather long in the tooth it is hard to believe. She runs around (no pun intended as we are asked to believe she is a track star) hair flying in the breeze which is typical of LMN leading ladies - long hair that looks so common and uninteresting. Her performance was boring as she spoke every line in a monotone two note level it put you to sleep. There wasn't any performance that came off realistic or interesting in the entire film. Possibly the mother, who was killed off in the opening credits. Who writes this stuff? Who casts this stuff? Who directs this stuff? Most importantly, who pays for this stuff? For surely there are more worthwhile projects that deserve more attention. And better actresses than LMN finds to star in most of their films. Josie Davis is the only one that comes across as a decent actress. Even she deserves better material.
This is a typical made for TV movie but it wasn't even believable. Straight up comedy watching the fake reactions that should have been serious. Only finish if there's nothing else on.
This movie popped up on YouTube and decided to give it a go and turned out to be a pretty good and easy watch. Yes, there are a number of loopholes but it is well paced, not boring at all, reasonably good acting, a very handsome cop, a few surprising twists and some predictable events. Think it is based on a book and am not sure whether it's based on or inspired by true events - tried to search in the web but had conflicting results. I thought there wasn't enough time given to show the children's sorrow and adjustments after their mother was murdered. In fact I resided the movie to see whether I missed any jump in time. All in all, still a good watch.

- BlooperContrary to what her father said, Alex did not leave the lights of her car on after she came home after spying on her father. While they were on when she pulled up, as she goes inside the left headlight is shown and it is not on. She did however leave her room lights on.

Detective Joe Moran: Yes. I take random acts of violence personally.
