Aishiteru!

Misa is a former wrestler and now a struggling underground pop idol. One night after a performance & at the meet & greet she hits one of the other idol's fans. She is banned from performing at that club. Later she is asked to join and work at an S&M club as a dominatrix while she continues her idol career.

This blends both the pop idol world and the S&M world. The script & story generally is very good. It does get into some fetishes plus there is nudity. Nothing very explicit. It has some dramatic elements but injects some light humor at times keeping things interesting.

Two problems that bothered me and made this movie much less enjoyable. First, a couple of characters that can have an intense orgasm from touching someone's hand or just the site of a vibrator or instantaneous orgasms at other times. Ridiculous. It made what felt like a serious film into slapstick that didn't work. Second, Misa says early on she needs to wear a mask while working at the S&M club which she does so as not to be recognized which will hurt her idol career. Yet has no problem going outdoors, no mask with her Domme while wearing a vibrator & her collar. That could be more a continuity issue that should have been caught at the script stage. It made the story less believable & as if the movie itself didn't take itself seriously. Or maybe the director didn't take it seriously.

Those two issues brought this movie down a real lot for me from what was an excellent movie. The acting was good tho nothing outstanding. Worth watching but those two issues almost made me stop watching.

Same difference? No pun intended for sure. You have to not be too sensitive for this. Not just because of some nudity (I reckon some might be a lot for some or little for others), but more when it comes to the subject matter. Pain is gain or what is the saying? Must be something along those lines.

The main character here seems a glutton for punishment, though she seems to love it. And hey I will not shame or say anything negative about that, even if that is far away from anything I would like or do myself (on any end - receiving or participating or dishing out). There is a lot of weird stuff happening, never too explicit, but not holding back either.

Ending may be a bit abrupt ... but it makes sense I reckon. If you were able to watch until then, you won't be disappointed for sure ...
