It's Terrible, but Enjoyable if You're in the Right Mood

The other reviewers are correct, it's bad. But for people, like me, who enjoy certain kinds of bad movies, it's a gold mine.

After the first shark attack scene, it goes on tediously for a bit, and I almost gave up on it. There is a lot of pointless dialogue, over explaining of things, etc... but if you can stay with it, it's got a lot of laugh out loud moments.

There is a non-sensical plot, TERRIBLE acting, writing and dialogue, laughable accents, baffling and unrealistic actions, attempts at touching & sentimental scenes for characters the audience cares nothing about, amateurish CGI, etc...

It's a real hoot if you're in to the that sort of thing. If you're wanting an actual "good" shark attack film, you should definitely avoid though.

Don't waste your time.

Thus is a C- at best movie. Rented it based on a 7.9 review. It plays more like an amateur film. Shark scenes are obviously computer generated. There is no real plot and what us there is beyond predictable. Whoever gave this a 7.9 must have done it as a joke. The scenes jump without connection. It's so bad it's almost comedic. The characters never seem to learn from one mistake to the next. Really, don't waste your money or time on this movie. People go out in a small rubber dingy to rescue the guys daughter when they know there are multiple sharks attacking. They call coast guard as an emergency and are put on hold. A helicopter with their coordinates can't find them. They are resting in a sand bar and still get attacked. A girl gets bit abd they wrap it but later when they stand her up the wrap isn't there. They also tell her to keep weight off her leg and she does it on the wrong leg!

Yeah, just another run-of-the-mill shark movie...

I have to admit that I am sucker for shark movies, despite the fact that 95% of all shark movies are questionable and dubious movies at best. But I still opt to give a shark movie the benefit of the doubt. And such it was with the 2022 movie "Shark Waters".

And I had never heard about writer M. L. Miller's "Shark Waters" movie before getting the chance to watch it. And seeing that dreaded logo pop up on the screen, you know which one I am talking about, The Asylum, I have to admit that my expectations went down a couple of notches for the movie. Yet, I still opted to watch it.

Director Jadon Cal didn't exactly deliver an innovating shark movie. If anything, then "Shark Waters" was a pretty generic movie at best, even for a shark movie. But hey, at least it had sharks. Well, a combination of dubious CGI sharks and some stock footage of sharks. Again, something that is a common occurrence in shark movies, isn't it?

The dialogue in "Shark Waters" was rather shoddy, and there were some genuinely toe-curling moments throughout the 85 minutes that the movie ran for.

The acting performances in "Shark Waters" were fair enough. Some questionable performances, but also some adequate performances. But truth be told, a movie such as this would be astounding if it had stellar performances.

I mentioned the poorly animated CGI sharks, and mix that with some equally poorly animated blood effects in the water, and you know what you're in for when you sit down to watch "Shark Waters".

My rating of "Shark Waters" lands on a three out of ten stars.

Avoid At All Cost

I fairly certain this film was directed by the dead shark from Jaws!

Filmed on a Nokia 3310 with a script supplied by a dyslexic cat this is possibly the worst film I've ever had the misfortune of watching. Sadly I stuck with it until the end just to see how woeful the ending was. I made that sacrifice for you people so you don't need to. The interaction between the cast feels as though they recorded their lines on different days in different countries. The first 2 characters to die probably fed themselves to the sharks rather than live with the shame of having been cast in this total shocker.

I've watched worse.

Seeing it was from Asylum, I lowered my already low expectations. The biggest problem was not just the script, as it is very generic and farfetched. The characters were somewhat likeable, so you do care who got killed next. The real problem was in the execution. Donna falls overboard, and her boyfriend Wyatt get ahold of the throttle, and gets a shark tangled in the prop. But a scene from underwater shows no sharks near the props. Wyatt then jumps in the water to go mano-a-mano to kill a shark, which is not good idea. The ship's radio is knocked out, but Lucia has her phone, but naturally the battery is almost dead. But she got a call to her father, and was able to give the exact location of where they were. They start taking on water, the boat being hit by the sharks, but while there is water on the deck, apparently none below. In water filled with aggressive sharks, two of the rescuers come out in a rubber dinghy. The captain and first mate were likeable, so I do give it three stars. But only barely. But this is a low budget shark movie, so one is not expecting much from the film, and at least it is short.

Not THAT bad, people.

For real. Some people are just haters. I love shark movies and there have been a handful over the years that I had to turn off after only a few minutes. But this isn't one of those.

Shark footage seemed decent, like archive footage from a documentary or something. Some CGI was bad, but it doesn't ruin anything. Just watch and relax a little.

Acting isn't stellar, but it's not horrible like some are saying. Predictable, yeah, but so what?

Just give it a shot. Watch it and enjoy the ride. There's never going to be another Jaws, The Meg (and Meg 2) again. They are just the top movies in the genre and in each of their respective eras.

A highly enjoyable genre effort let down by a few minor drawbacks

Taking a special fishing charter, a woman joins a group of friends on a boat offering a pleasure fishing experience, but when they encounter a rogue swarm of sharks that strand them in the ocean to take them out one by one forces her to rely on long-forgotten survival skills to survive the situation.

This was a pretty decent and enjoyable killer shark film. One of the better elements present here is the film's decision to include multiple sharks in a typical storyline usually featuring just a solitary species. The main setup of this one isn't that original, where a group of individuals are stranded in the middle of the ocean after an accident and must try to make it back to shore while being stalked by a man-eating shark, serves as nothing more than a means to get the victims out into the water to be hunted down due to the overuse of the trope in recent times. This time, there's a whole school of sharks instead of just a single rogue species which makes for a fun enough diversion to everything that keeps this one interesting enough. That lets the film's incredibly fun and graphic attack scenes have a highly enjoyable cheese factor to them. Starting with the opening attack on the swimmers on their jetski where the creatures rip them to pieces in spectacular fashion, it's a fantastic way to start things which is the kind of enjoyably cheesy energy that carries over into the other attacks here. The big sequence of them swarming the boat during their innocent fishing excursion and taking out the victims the way they do is a fun enough sequence where it not only features the cheesy swarming sequences but also demonstrates the creatures are smart enough to form a game-plan for attacking the boat. This is repeated several times over the course of the film to great effect each time to help build some tension each time they get knocked into the water so it all adds together into a generally fun and cheesy effort. There isn't much that holds it back but it does have some minor flaws. One of the biggest drawbacks here is the film's middle segment where the group tries to survive the elements and their wounds rather than deal with the sharks. Since the creatures are known early on, it gives this a fine pace with them being stranded by the attack quite early on which causes some underwhelming factors here in the middle where it focuses more on the effects of previous attacks than generating new ones. As none of this really serves much with the group going through the various means of trying to survive rather than horror attacks, it can sputter at times even if not slowing down completely, and with the usual issues with its CGI work also popping up are the film's main drawbacks.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

Nothing made sense

First off why would the show control center sending a message on all open channels when they don't hear anything. Two, how does the radio not work. The shark hit the propeller. Didn't know the whole electronic system was in the propeller. The acting was like wtf. The boyfriend to one of the characters was annoying was F and I couldn't wait for him to die. They finally realized they had a radio almost close to the end of the movie. A person got bit by a shark and she's acting like her whole entire leg was torn off by in reality it's a light bit at best, and just so much more stupid stuff. Like I stupid movies but this was beyond that smh.

Absolutely horrible

I love sharks, but I still enjoy a good shark movie. This movie was filmed almost 50 years after Jaws, so you'd expect good (or at least decent) graphics. But no. The graphics are so bad they're laughable. And I'm sorry to say the acting isn't any better. So, is there ANYTHING redeeming about this movie? Only one thing that I can think of. Unlike Jaws, Shark Waters will not be making anybody fear sharks and it certainly won't keep anyone out of the water. Shark Water is a spectacular FAIL in every single way a movie can be. It's so laughable, it's not even funny. So, don't waste your time looking at it. All that will come from watching Shark Waters is that you will have wasted nearly 90 minutes of your life that you will never get back...

Ok

A movie as all movies about sharks. Predictable, but not that bad. They are all the same to me. The actors act well, but the idea of little rescuing boat was too ridiculous. The helicopter couldn't find them despite the coordinate. Falling from the boat was also ridiculous. They remembered to use the phone and call her dad after two hours, and after that the tourist was killed by the sharks. I don't understand why the producers continue making new movies about the sharks when everything possibile has bene already done. They are all the same. In all these movies sharks act likes humans, want to revange, follow a certain boat/ship and attack It. They are not humans, they eat if are hungry, they don't revenge and don't attack just like that.

It's pretty funny

How many ways can people fall of a boat into the water? Well if you've ever wondered that this is the movie for you! Just when you thought you couldn't escape a school of hungry sharks in a rubber boat, oh my god they do just that. The movie is ridiculous throughout. At least the chick is nice to look at. The sharks seem to be all CGI and cheaply done. I guess we should expect this from an Asylum release. The plot seems to be that a bunch of people fall into the water where sharks are waiting for them. I can't think of anything else that happens. They have a Mexican Coast Guard because it's Cabo. The helicopter pilot seemed to be confused about the search area. A small can of gas and a flare gun can blow up a big boat with a big explosion and kill all the sharks. Two people can row a boat this size fast enough to land it on a sandbar. You get the idea. Despite these shortcomings it's not a terrible movie. I give it a 5/10 for trying. It's pretty funny.

[2.9] Fishing sharp teeth

Watch it if you don't have anything else to watch. It is lame, entertaining with less kill than would have liked, there needed at least forty two girls in the movie and thirty one men and seventy nine elderly in a big yacht. Only then, it would have been more entertaining and more believable.

The visual effects are horrendous, the sharks aren't.

REMARKABLE!!!!💫✨✨

If you are looking for a thrilling-horror film, you have found it!!! The graphics and editing are out of this world! The suspense is crazy while watching, leaving you at the edge of your seat!! The acting is hands-down incredible!! So impressed! You connect to the characters easily and relate to them! Especially the girl Lucia, her backstory of her close relationship with her dad is touching! This movie at a whole has a wonderful flow to it, and definitely does not have a confusing plot. They depict sharks in such a realistic way, it leaves me speechless on how accurate it is!! The sharks are SO SCARY!! Definitely 10 Stars! A+! This movie is GOLD!
