The show has great potential to be a hit. We have so few comedies on television today. It's nice and refreshing to see them on network television. Wendy McLendon-Covey is perfect in her role as the head director at St. Denis Medical Center in Oregon. Alison Tolman is effecetive as a nurse supervisor who has a family. Her character seems to be overly involved and so dedicated that she has trouble leaving to see her daughter perform in her school's Mamma Mia. David Alan Grier is fine here as a long term veteran doctor. There are some familiar faces here. I did enjoy the first two episodes and hope to see the rest.
Don't give up in the show. It's the best sitcom on NBC right now and that's not saying much. I would rather have more sitcoms than crime dramas.

It's nowhere near on par with "The Office" or "Parks and Rec" (nothing ever will be), but it's got some laugh out loud moments. It reminds me a lot of Superstore, although that could be because half the cast came from that show. I can see how it's not for everyone, but it's definitely a lot better than most of the comedies I've seen released in the last few years. As one of the other reviews said, the comedic style is a bit more like the characters are cracking jokes with each other than trying to make the audience laugh. But there were some funny enough moments to make up for that, in my opinion. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!

The office in a medical center, what do you need more. As a doctor, a lot of these interactions and jokes are very recognisable from the daily work.
A good show to relax after a long day, well filmed, good actors. Interested to see where they will be taking the characters and the storyline.
Yes, the characters are gross generalisations from each discipline but there is some truth in it which makes it more funny.
Lighten up all healthcare workers who are leaving bad reviews, this doesn't put us in a bad light. Relax and laugh with yourself and your (sometimes annoying) collegues, it's just a joke!

I am impressed. It's well written, acted, & funny. I like how they handled current issues like reviews and "fat shaming" in the medical field. I'm especially happy to see Dr. Ron's character and nurse Alex is great opposite him. I do wish that nurse Matt wasn't so ridiculous though. He was home schooled, is from a small town, & is religious which you can see but he's a bit too dumb & clueless too often. This shifts things from real life & funny to silly which I think doesn't work as well for this show. Even with the nursing shortage & standards lowering no one would want him as an RN! Still, I look forward to this show.

I turned this on because I was such a fan of Superstore. It is definitely a different tone than Superstore, but this show is clearly going for something more meaningful. It's cute, it's funny, it's about caring, and it's about community.
I think that it could qualify as a "Feel Good Comedy." It depicts relatable people as they struggle through the challenges of health care and caring for people that need help.
I have several family members who work in health care, and everything that I saw tracks with what I have seen so far in the show.
There are some new actors that I don't recognize, but there are some that I love (any cast from Superstore) seeing in new roles.

I'd say right now the show is about a 5-6/10 for me- however, I gave it a 7 because it has a ton of potential. There are likable characters, good jokes, and a decent comedic format; I think it just needs a little time to truly find its footing.
I think the negative comments are forgetting that a lot of shows, particularly sitcoms, need some time to develop. Too many people expect instant gratification and aren't willing to stick it out, despite the fact that most shows benefit from some time/world & character building.
The negative reviews are comparing this to The Office, Parks & Rec, etc., while completely ignoring the fact that those shows weren't great in their first seasons either. Fortunately, they were given a chance and they became some of the most iconic shows out there. I think this show also deserves a chance. It might not be amazing now, but I could see it becoming great with time. Hopefully the network gives it a chance!

First of all, THANK YOU for creating this show! I recorded this show hoping for a win. This show is the Mega Million Lottery winner! Life itself right now is drama... currenty, reality is sad, depressing, and bleak. I'm a teacher & my kids live daily with circumstances that would crush a normal adult. Each day I vow to keep doing the right thing and keep hope alive. This TV show offers me "mind candy". More than entertainment, St Denis Medical makes me laugh. The kind of laughter that is healing. An opportunity for my spirits getting renewed, revived, and restored. NBC, I'm using my teacher voice here and I'm giving you my best teacher stare. Keep St. Denis Medical on the air. Do not make me write a note to your Mom.

I've watched the first 5 episodes and have been unfortunately massively disappointed by the show. I came from watching Superstore which was BRILLIANT, but St Denis pales in comparison in every way. A few actors from Superstar (Sandra, Matteo, Tate) are in this show but their characters are significantly less charismatic and not very funny. The only character I have liked so far is the main character Alex. Everyone else comes off very unlikeable especially the new RN Matt and the emergency physician Ron. I want to like this show soooo badly but it's only gotten a few chuckles out of me in the first 5 episodes.
Watched both the eps (pilot and the second one) and I am shocked. How are people giving it 10 stars is beyond me. Seinfeld, The good place, The office, Parks and rec, we have had so many successes, how is Hollywood so off the mark in comedy for the past few years??
St. Denis Medical tries to emulate the charm of mockumentary classics like "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation," but falls short in a big way. The pilot episode is a chaotic mess, with forced humor and over-the-top characters that lack depth. The show struggles to find its footing, relying heavily on clichés and predictable storylines. The ensemble cast, despite their talent, can't save the show from its uninspired writing and lack of originality. Overall, it feels like a missed opportunity, failing to deliver the laughs and heart that its predecessors did. Nobody stood out for me as such. No cohesive storyline or trail to follow here. It could have been left as a skit at comedy central. You would be better off watching re-runs of better shows.

I rarely enjoy a 1st season of a sitcom as normally it takes time for a freshman comedy to gain momentum and find its footing. Sometimes it can take a couple of seasons
Thankfully with St. Denis that is not the case as I have enjoyed every episode to date.
Mockumentaries are now a common aspect to which I have come to enjoy the concept. When The Office (USA) first aired, I could not get used to the talking head segments and watching it as a documentary was just weird for me; but now I love them.
I do not have a favorite episode as they all have been great. This show is great for all ages
If you're looking for a fun show; I prescribe St. Denis Medical one time per week or PRN.

From the same people who bought you Superstore, you can see some of the same vibe, however, they've clearly been influenced by the success of Abbott Elementary too, but St Denis Medical doesn't managed to capture the magic of either of those shows.
Not a single one of the core characters is likeable. Even a flawed character needs to have some connection to the audience and that isn't what I'm getting from this show.
Wendi-McClendon-Covey has just bought Beverly Goldberg into the 2020s in this role, the two characters are 100% interchangeable.
It's an easy background watch, but it is just lacking something to make it truly magical.

After watching the numerous promos for this series, I was looking forward to watching it. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. It is another one of those fake documentaries which supposedly follows the main characters around with a film crew and cameras. There were some humorous moments in the first two episodes I viewed. Regrettably, Wendi McLendon Covey ruined any enjoyment that I might have had in viewing the series. Her extremely over the top acting style is particularly off putting to my liking. She ruined every scene in which she appeared. This is not the first show that have I stopped watching due to her scene chewing antics.
After just two episodes, St. Denis Medical has already won me over. The mockumentary format really brings the characters to life, and as a fan of the genre, I'm thrilled to see how each character is given their moment to shine. Each personality feels distinctive and well-rounded, which is essential in a show like this where comedy comes not just from situations but from the unique quirks and reactions of each character.
I was especially drawn to Allison Tolman's performance. Having admired her work in Fargo, where she delivered an unforgettable role, it's exciting to see her bring a fresh take to a comedic character in St. Denis Medical. Her blend of subtle humor and authenticity is spot on.
As for my favorite characters, Ron, Matt, and Bruce stand out for their personalities and interactions. I'm really excited to see how their arcs will develop in upcoming episodes. If the show continues at this pace, I hope we get many more seasons to explore these characters and their stories.
Overall, St. Denis Medical feels like a perfect balance of humor and heart, and I can't wait to see what's next!

I don't understand all of these 1 or 2 star reviews people keep giving? I think this show is hilarious. Superstore is probably one of my all time favorite TV shows and I've been craving something to fill that void ever since it ended and this show does just that. It includes two of the same cast members, and was made by the same creator. It is mockumentary style which is a slight difference to superstore, but I was also a huge Modern Family fan so I'm familiar with the format and quite enjoyed it in this scenario as well. The other cast members are great also and work together well. The first episode wasn't the best by any means but don't let that discourage you because it's been nothing but uphill ever since!

Where do I start. Incredible actors, great direction, chuckle tier humor, comically ridiculous writing, and lovable characters. I originally saw the first episode as an advertisement on YouTube. When I for whatever reason didn't skip. I thought it was an awful medical drama, but I was pleasantly surprised by the imeadate denile of mye being able to take anything seriously. So I coundnt help but giggle every once and a while. Next thing I knew I was watching episode 2... and then 3, 4, and then 5. Now I'm upset because I have to wait for the next episode to air. I really want to see what these character are doing. I think that's a great thing to have a person upset about. In conclusion this is a great series so far and I can't wait to see what's next.
Fifteen minutes into this I had to ask the people I was watching this with if this was a comedy or not. I had not heard a single person laugh that was in the room. I really truly didn't get it. It was so boring that after 15 minutes I ask if anybody was interested in watching anymore, and everyone said no. I was so looking forward to this, I love many of the actors in it. I don't understand how they would stoop so low to take a part in this snorefest. My love of some of the actors is the only reason I gave it a number two if it weren't for that it would be getting a negative rating! One good thing, if you have insomnia, it will be a good choice and treatment.

Only 6 episodes out so far, but so far so good! It very much feels like a spiritual successor to the tried and true workplace mockumentary shows like the office and parks and rec while still feeling original in its jokes and characters. The characters here are likable, distinct, and well developed. The humor rides a nice line of not always playing it safe while not going overboard to be intentionally offense. Great shows like the aforementioned office and parks and rec had relatively rough starts. St Denis seems to have hit the ground at least "jogging" if not totally running, and I think it's lead up to a very promising start to the type of sitcom many people (including me) love. I'm looking forward to more!

This show follows the once-original "mockumentary" formula, never to be topped by the series that popularized this format: The Office. Except this series follows the wholly unfunny, uninteresting, uncharismatic, and often unlikable staff of a hospital. Every single "joke" reeks of being written by a room of humorless, septum-pierced, thick-rim glasses wearing, perpetually offended HR workers. The only characters allowed to be the butt of any joke are, surprise surprise, the inept rookie white male nurse and the overly cocky, obnoxious white male surgeon. The actress playing the hospital administrator is trying way too hard to be funny and it shows. The show is so terrified of "punching down" on anyone or anything with a victim marker through its jokes that it has no comedic value at all. Just go re-watch either Scrubs or House for your fix of hospital humor or drama, since this show fails at both.

Soooo funny! I really appreciate that they don't focus on the medicine. As a nurse, I find this pretty accurate so far! I literally have the exact same stethoscope as one of the characters! I really hope this show continues! We need more shows centred around the nurses in medical shows, almost all the work characters do in medical shows are a nurses job, or a phelbotomist, or pharmacist, or tech/aid. Doctors have a very important job in the hospital, but if you want drama that's with the nurses. This showhas a really fleshing view and I can't wait to see more. Am I the only one who hopes more actors from Superstore will show up??

I started watching the series just because it was newly released, but then I got completely hooked! It's been a while since I watched a light-hearted satirical comedy, so this show was a breath of fresh air for me. The humor is sharp yet relatable, and it cleverly pokes fun at the quirks and challenges of working in a medical environment without ever feeling mean-spirited.
What really stands out is the writing-it's witty, fast-paced, and packed with clever one-liners that keep you laughing throughout. The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique quirks and personalities that make them feel authentic and endearing. I didn't know anything about the cast before watching, but they've absolutely won me over with their impeccable comedic timing and chemistry. The ensemble works so well together, and it's clear they're having a blast bringing these characters to life.
If you're a fan of medical dramas but wish they had more laughs, or if you just enjoy well-written sitcoms with a great cast, this is definitely the show for you.

Two episodes in, St. Denis Medical already feels like it's on the path to becoming one of the all-time greats, much like The Office. While the latter took its time to find its groove, we all know the heights it reached, and St. Denis Medical carries that same potential.
What stands out is how it mirrors the workplace humor and absurdity of The Office, but in a fresh, quirky medical setting. The characters, although still unfolding, hint at a dynamic chemistry that could become iconic. The humor feels sharp, relatable, and laden with just the right amount of awkwardness-a hallmark of great workplace comedies.
If you're a fan of shows that build a strong ensemble cast and weave comedy through everyday chaos, this is the series to watch. It's shaping up to be a unique yet familiar addition to the genre, and I, for one, am excited to see where it goes!
St. Denis Medical might just be the prescription for laughter we all need.

Struggled through the first episode thinking it would get better,,, NOPE.. Watched 2nd episode hoping to give this ridiculous show a chance. NOPE .. Had to turn it off, I have almost given up on the people making these shows.. The comedy is so lame as if the writers think viewers have no brain. This is a DOPE show.. By that I mean.. If your flying high you might like it. But if you have an educated brain this show will fall flat in the gutter. It has no substance,,, It is full of useless banter... no real context... there is no comedy here,, just a bunch of stupidity being thrown around in each scene. Congrats for making a mockery out of the health care workers!!!!

With everything going on right now, this is a fantastic distraction. It's a nice break from the madness in the world currently.
Thinking about people who serve other people and the funny instances that occur within that circle is a great break from current issues.
Also, I'm so happy to see Wendy in another sitcom, she's got amazing timing and talent.
The chemistry between the actors is awesome. I'm pretty confident this can run for multiple seasons due to how relevant the subjects discussed are.
I'm really happy another sitcom was made that is not just a remake. It does have Scrubs vibes but only in the sense that it's good like Scrubs. It's a totally different POV and very relevant. You all have done a good job and should be proud.
Thanks for getting new stuff out there.
If you think about it, comedy is kind of medical relief due to the stress relief provided. Keep up the good work.

After suffering through those aggressively unfunny trailers, I was concerned this one might turn out to be the worst situation comedy of the decade. My fears were misaligned: it's truly much worse than I'd been led to believe.
From the stale jokes and pedestrian plot lines to the overall concept of the show, I was wrestling with why watching this mess had left me nearly speechless. Then it dawned on me: this is the worst TV show since Jerry O'Connell's notorious "sitcom" Do Not Disturb (DND). Like DND, St. Denis takes real talents like Alison Tolman and David Alan Grier and squanders their efforts.
