Hopping on the dinosaur movie train is a new film starring Daniel Baldwin (Vampires) by German director Marcel Walz (That’s a Wrap). The title of the new indie film, Jurassic: Reborn, not-so-subtly pays homage to a certain decades-old, but still popular movie franchise. Per Deadline, production on the upcoming film that also stars Bryan Scamman (The Box), Danielle Titus (When the Night Falls), and Esmeree Sterling (Nobody’s Angel)has just wrapped.
The new movie, written by Alex Heerman (24 Hours to D-Day), is described as a “bloody action adventure.” A summary of the film reads: “When cutting-edge research leads to the creation of living dinosaurs, a team of scientists on a secluded island must risk their lives and confront the now-growing creatures to prevent the animals from escaping and attacking the mainland.”

Back at the end of 2023, we heard that the creative team behind the stalker thriller Blind, its still-unreleased sequel Pretty Boy, the slasher That’s a Wrap, and the upcoming horror film Garden of Eden, had wrapped production on Brute 1976, a horror project described as an homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. Exclusive: Bill Kaulitz has swapped the concert stage for the big screen by landing his first film role.
The Tokio Hotel frontman, whose band is among Germany’s most successful music acts, has landed a role in Brute 1986, an indie pic inspired by 1980s slasher movies.
In the film, Leather Kobra, a Sunset Strip-style glam metal band films a music video in an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. Ignoring ‘no trespassing’ signs, the rebellious group have no idea they are being watched by the Birdy family, who will meet them with a “level of brutality that is as vicious as it is creative,” according to producers.
Starring alongside Kaulitz are Gigi Gustin (Stiletto), Sarah French (Blind), Pancho Moler (3 From Hell), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Heather Grace Hancock (Wicked City) and Dazelle Yvette (Garden of Eden).

Exclusive: Toronto-based genre sales specialist Raven Banner has added Neon Noir horror pics Brute 1976 and Garden of Eden to its Cannes Film Market slate.
Brute 1976 from director Marcel Walz is marketed as a throwback to horror classics such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and follows a group of friends who stumble upon the desert town Savage while looking for a spot to set their latest photo shoot, only to meet the depraved, mask-wearing Birdy family, who begin hunting them down one by one.
Sarah French, Gigi Gustin, Dazelle Yvette and Adriane McLean star.
Garden of Eden follows the wealthy and devout Eden family, who choose one lucky guest from each of their parties and give them the opportunity to fulfil their greatest desires. However, a life-changing dream for some may become a nightmare for others.
Walz is the director, and like Brute 1976, was written by Joe Knetter.

Bloodthirst is from the folks at Mahal Empire, last year they gave us their version of the zombie apocalypse, Bridge of the Doomed. This year they’re revisiting the apocalypse, only in Bloodthirst the threat comes from a different strain of the undead, vampires. Interestingly, both films were directed by Michael Su and written by Adrian Milnes this time with a story credit to Massimiliano Cerchi
In the world of Bloodthirst two factions of vampires fight for control of what’s left of the planet. What’s left of humanity is caught in the middle and rapidly heading for extinction, something that would doom the vampires as well. John Shepard walks that world as a vampire hunter who’s on the trail of The Master Vampire.

The cast of director Mason Maestro’s new slasher flick "That's a Wrap." has gathered together for the wrap party. As the festivities go on everyone splinters off, to celebrate the flick, but mostly each other. However, they are unaware that the slasher from the movie, The Mistress, has left the screen and will turn the evening into a real-life, bloody nightmare. We are a plus-one in Marcel Walz’s lurid, neon-soaked bloodbath, That’s A Wrap. Walz’s indie slasher film is a silly, self-aware slasher flick that features a lot of hot and steamy action - wink wink nudge nudge - that always leads into deliciously violent murder and mayhem. Why so hot and steamy? That’s A Wrap stars a couple of notable adult-oriented performers....

Plot: When filmmaker Mason Maestro throws a private party after production wraps on his new slasher flick, someone dressed like the killer in the movie starts knocking off the partiers one-by-one.

Their first production is That’s a Wrap, a giallo slasher that takes both clear inspiration from the works of Italian filmmakers like Mario Bava and Dario Argento – especially due to the fact that Walz and cinematographer Marcus Friedlander have soaked nearly every shot in colorful lighting – and from the Scream franchise, in that it’s a meta film where the characters work in the horror business.

That's a Wrap is an upcoming horror comedy movie that combines the style of a Giallo with the meta whodunit of Scream. The plot concerns the cast of a slasher movie, also titled That's a Wrap, celebrating at a wrap party when they are slowly picked off one at a time by someone dressed as the villain of the movie they just made. Director Marcel Walz spoke with MovieWeb about the film.
The Independent Horror of Neon Noir
That's a Wrap is undoubtedly an independent film. However, fitting with its self-referential meta framework, it also comments upon indie cinema, but in a loving way. “I mean, we do not make fun of [the indie film world], but we do explain the wider audience of the mainstream people, what it means to work in the indie world and also these horror movies." He continued:

Marcel Walz’s That’s a Wrap unites the director’s visually dazzling style with the Giallo subgenre in a match made in horror heaven. Vibrant scenes, solid performances, and a killer synth soundtrack accent this fun murder mystery that’s sure to please a wide array of horror fans.

Exclusive: The second feature from Neon Noir, the production house Marcel Walz, Sarah French and Joe Knetter launched last year, will be dark horror drama Garden of Eden.
Billed by Knetter as “super dark and disturbing,” the film will follow the wealthy Eden family, who are devout Christians that have been very successful in business and are rich beyond their needs. To give back, they throw garden parties, in which each guest who finds a key has their dream come true, but “a dream for some can be a nightmare for others,” reads the synopsis.
Robert Rusler (Vamp), Monique T. Parent, Sarah French (Blind), Sarah Polednak, Gigi Gustin (The Last Deal), Sarah Nicklin (The Retaliators) and Dazelle Yvette are starring.
