It's a clean sex comedy 😄👍

*Right to Sex* - just like RTI is the topic, here..!!

We don't expect our senior citizens to have a sex life. That's especially true for people over 60.

Thai Massage tackles all these questions and more. It's the story of a 70 year old widower who has started suffering from erectile dysfunction.

He wants to experience sex one more time before he loses the ability completely. *(Diyya Bujne se pehlle Jor se fadffadata hai 😄)*

gajraj rao & Divyendu sharma both are good and played their own part very-well..!!

It's a clean sex comedy that will definitely make you smile in places...!! 😄 - One time watch.

A STUDY OF LONLINESS IN OLD AGE

The title is somewhat misleading as the Bangkok "massage" know as Yum-Yum and Boom-Boom can be seen more in-depth on Y/T with lots more explicate scenes. A 70 year old widower, who has never travelled beyond his native village, all of a sudden realizes he is Old" and wants to have sex, just one more time. He tells some relatives who either "judge" him or ridicule him in a cruel was, behind his back. He gets brave and travels to Bangkok Thailand in search of a sex partner. First he gets tricked in to just seeing a stage play. Then hires a hooker but falls asleep while she is showering which prompts her to just leave without any "action" taking palace. He then meets a beautiful Russian girl who is travelling around, just SEEING the world. Realizing that he hasn't really LIVED, he decides to join her in her travels. Now he is starting to really live and enjoy the time he still has on earth. Aside from the happy ending, the rest of the movie is all about ridicule and extreme "judgement" by his entire family. The sooner he gets away from all of them the better. The loneliness of being single in old age is explored throughout the movie. I didn't find much to laugh at but I suspect is was made as a comedy for Indian audiences.

Treat people like human not God

An eye opening story for the children, who thinks that their parents can not do or even capable of doing any bad or sinister thing in life and put them on a very high pedal where they forget, their parents are human before becoming your parents and they also have humanly desires and wishes and their bucket of regret. This is the movie that shows us how to express our feeling and open ourselves to the life and understand what it is offering. We in our daily life and routine, forget to enjoy it but we have to cease every moment with joy and when our loved ones die we forget to cherish it. This movie is a very good reminder.

Well-intentioned but not executed properly. Deserves to be seen for Gajraj Rao.

Thai Massage is almost another 'Badhaai Ho' for Gajraj Rao, with the core idea of the movie being a taboo but relevant issue. From the messaging aspect, one can say that the movie has its heart in the right place, but as far as execution is concerned I would say that it's a mixed bag. 'Thai Massage' is entertaining in parts but also quite dull at certain points. Even at two hours, the movie feels a little long but looking at the supporting characters and their underdeveloped subplots, one feels as if the director wanted to make a much longer film, perhaps a series!

It was wonderful to see a movie being made with the protagonist being a sixty year old man, a genuinely bold move made by the creators of the film. Gajraj Rao is a terrific actor and has done a beautiful job of shouldering the responsibility of carrying the entire film. It's just shocking to realize, that an actor like him who gives a nuanced performance every single time, has been around for more than 25 years but it's only now that people are noticing his talent.

I was quite surprised to see Divyendu Sharma portraying an extremely underwritten role in this film. Divyendu is an amazingly talented actor and by now quite a few people are aware of him thanks to 'Mirzapur', so it felt a little odd to see him play the role of Santulan in this film. Divyendu has acted very well in this film, but it never became clear as to why he was doing what he was doing in the movie. At certain points it felt like he was trying to make a fool out of Atmaram, but then he was also genuinely concerned for him and provided him with help at every single point. Also, there was something going on in his personal life with his wife as well, but that topic was just briefly mentioned and then brushed under the carpet before being brought back right at the end of the film.

The writing of the film is quite inconsistent especially with regards to the supporting characters, and you get the sense that the writer had a lot of ideas but couldn't really fit them all in the screenplay. There is also a subplot of Atmaram and his son's, but that also remained underdeveloped. Sunny Hinduja gets a monologue towards the end, which was beautiful but it felt rushed and not organic. The role of Atmaram's daughter-in-law has been played by Anurita Jha, an extremely underrated talent of our film industry, but the writer has given her nothing. There were certain scenes in which I felt that there would be a reaction from her side, but there was nothing; unfortunately she is pretty much a cardboard character in this film.

Alina Zasobina gets a decent amount of screen time in the final hour of the film and has done a pretty good job in portraying the vivacious as well as serious side of Rita. Alina, who has a charming screen presence, not only adds flavour to Atmaram's life but also to the proceedings. Although I loved the messaging of the film and I completely agree that it makes no sense to confine the lives of our elders and expect them to remain forever within the boundaries created by our own regressive mindset, but a part of me also wanted Rita to make a comeback in Atmaram's life; I feel that would have been a happier ending for Atmaram.

Music of the film composed by Amit Trivedi and Joi Barua is quite good, with 'Boom Boom' composed by Amit Trivedi being the stand out song of the album. Sung by Sharvi Yadav and Nikhita Gandhi and written by Irshad Kamil, 'Boom Boom' has been picturized very well and has a lot of repeat value.

In conclusion, 'Thai Massage' may not be able to satisfy you completely, but it won't disappoint you entirely as well.

Gajraj Rao and Divyendu rock !! Awesome film !!

Weekend watch: Thai Massage ( Hindi film streaming on Netflix) #sanjuzzreviews #netflixindia #thaimassage #GajrajRao #DivyenduSharma This is a dramedy where a Sanskari babuji type septuagenarian, Gajraj Rao realises that he has erectile dysfunction and might not be able to have sex anymore, especially since he is a widower and is expected to conform to the rules set by conservative society in the small town of Ujjain.

In comes Divyendu Sharma, a stranger, but takes up the old man's cause and makes a secret plan to send him to Thailand for some much needed " BOOM BOOM"🙂. This clandestine trip is discovered 3 yrs later accidently by his children and that's where the fun begins.

A light hearted film which will definitely invoke spontaneous laughter especially due to the great on screen chemistry between the lead actors Gajraj Rao and Divyendu Sharma. Both of them are too good. Rajpal Yadav as well as others in the cast have shown grt comic timing in their small roles to add a lot of humor all throughout.

Most of you might not have caught this film in Nov 2022 when it released in theatres.

Definitely worth a watch on OTT though !!

Going with 3/5 for this one.. Adios 🙂!!

The kissing part between a young & oldie was worst in this film

Concept is new but the execution & storytelling is very poor..script is not that good but comedy was very poor..there is very few funny elements in this film..acting wise everyone has done really good job but to be very honest, the kissing part between the lead old actor and that young girl who is a vlogger in this film is not good.my age is only 26 but i can't even appreciate this.. because a 65 years old married man can't kiss a 25years old young girl..if they feel for each other then the director should show this as a father-daughter relationship or just a friendship..because that's not our culture.

Septugenarian's problems of reduced libido and low self esteem

The storyline of this movie reminded me of the movie " Good luck to you Leo Grande " which I watched last year in which a 60 plus lady hires a young gigolo to experience orgasm after many long years. Here we have a lonely, naive, confused 70 year old widower ( Gajraj Rao) from an orthodox town Ujjain who is troubled by his depleted libido. He has a problem of erectile dysfunction and is desperately seeking solutions. A clever young guy ( Divyendu Sharma ) takes advantage of the situation feigning sympathy, gets him treated by a local quack and packs him off to Thailand for fulfillment of his carnal desires through the popular "boom boom" process there.

Director Mangesh Hadawale gives a simplistic treatment to the story and the narrative stumbles along in a slow pace. It does get boring at places but recovers soon. A better storyline was required to make it gripping. The comedy scenes don't actually work and Rajpal Yadav in a comic role could not do much to salvage the situation. It is basically a serious movie and Gajraj Rao does well as usual. He faithfully projects the loneliness and confusion of the character of the widower. A number of seniors of that age group may find his bumbling, shuffling and lurching behavior relatable. In a not so well written role Divyendu Sharma is passable as the crafty young man who takes advantage of the simplicity of Gajraj Rao. A Russian actress Alina Zarobina has given a nice performance. There are some attractive visuals of the sights in Thailand and some more similar scenes would have made the movie still better.

How to live morally @ 60+

Great Sunday afternoon movie! Welldone to everyone involved, in particular the artist playing the son of main character. He reminded me of my elder brother!! Message is loud and clear, i.e.- Morality, ethics, soul, conscious of right and wrong. These things were never seen in Indian movies, at least for the last 25 years.. These movies are more like a wakeup call as to "Hey, Bollywood is changed", It's quite evident that more emphasis on location/background was analyzed, especially in a quaint way to approach it holistically that catches the viewer's attention, in particular Ujjain's temple and ghats that brought million memories flooding as if Ganges was roaring!! More movies like this please!!

Decent Watch

Second half of the movie was much better. I feel first half could have been made better. Rather than using fear of erectile dysfunction, they could have used missing romance in life, fear of society, fear of dying as a reason to build the character.

The movie tries to introduce comedy with the help of Rajpal Yadav and Divyendu Sharma but fails. The comic scenes are out of place and seems forced for a movie like this. The only humor which works is when Atma is caught couple of times expressing his sexual desires. The dialogues could have been slightly better especially in the first half of the movie.

The acting as good. Everyone did a decent job. The subject was good and overall a movie you can watch for the second half.

Poor storyline

The story was not as expected it was a dull and boring movie. No comedy like previous movies of Gajraj ji and was expecting a good character from Divyenndu as it was in Mirzapur but alas it was an average acting as there was nothing much special in his character as well. Also, I think Gajraj ji is doing these types of roles for a while now but now I think he should explore something else as he have a lot of potential. I would say stories of the movies nowadays are like someone is writing them while watching shorts on YouTube like really there was no actual plot in the movie other than a message to youngsters that old people do have sexual feelings and they do have right to fulfil their needs which was the main message of the movie but with boring dialogues and scenes.

Must watch

A very nice movie after a long time. Honestly made. Honestly acted by everyone. Thai Massage, Kantara, etc are the ones we really need in the flood of below average movies like mili, ramsetu, etc where it is difficult to find acting, screenplay, even a story and everything else is copied.

It's not appealing

Sameer lodaya

The movie is not that appealing like the past movies of gajrajji

The topic was good and it is the fact with elderly men..the presentation was dull and was not at all hilarious..it is very unlike gajrajjis past movies..the accent of Madhya Pradesh was very accurate and gave a good touch..

Now a days gajrajji have become a taboo for desperate old man now he has to come out of these kind of roles and try some other characters

The performance of gajrajji was same like other movies but they were new so it was well acceptable not that uniqueness is not felt..divyenndu was normal

Humour could had saved this movie.

Shameful ride down the hill

The graph of the film just goes on dipping after the initial promise. The fabulous character of Gajraj from Baddhai Ho has been picked as it is but here he has nothing sensible to do. The film looks like it was not made as a creative expression but as a pot boiler. The makers have no clue whether they wanted to entertain audience, critics or themselves. Extremely disappointing, by the end I was left high and dry. No message, no storytelling. The so called comedy is stuff for the sick. The film kept on finding new lows. Pretty similar to the writer director who started with a bang with Tingya and the films have kept on going downhill.

Another movie from a Cliched genre

This movie is another attempt in the Cliched genre. The story line is predictable and again takes on the moralizing stand. Given that nowadays, we have either movies that belong to Cliched Moralizers genre or Cliched action genre, it makes one wonder if there is any movie that will catch the popular imagination.

The movie attempts to be funny but spectacularly misses it. Jokes don't land but crash and burn. The screen writers and editors needs a course on how to do the same. Bollywood really needs to get good script writers.

Goes on to show that even talented and experienced actors like Nassaruddin Shah cannot save a movie that has disaster written all over it.

The only reason that movie gets a 4 star is that there is some bits that are bearable and more importantly that in relatively speaking the movies that have come out in the last few months are soo bad that this movie seems oscar worthy.

Watch it if you don't have anything else to watch.

Not relatable but relatable

I am not a 60 year old and not gonna be soon But i can relate to this movie in terms of life and thailand visit I also recently visited thailand and i can say its amazing, beautiful and welcoming for Indians.

This movie portrays what most of the men/women in their late 50's,60's goes through due to society pressure and partners non involvement Movie has awesome songs Top notch acting and every actor has that indori/ ujjaini accent.

I would again like to go to thailand soon and visit more beautiful places Also, russian lady arc is also beautiful "experience is the income" Please see this movie.

Useless comedy

I am still wondering as to why i even used the word comedy in the title of this review, as the movie is everything boring but not comedy.

Yes, there are a little or two moment, but it will certainly not make you laugh even smile.

The topic and idea of the movie is good, where a man after fulfilling all his duties, being alone, need an experience and want to have a break. The topic the idea everything was good, just that the actors selection and their acting, not a little impressive and hence not making the movie any interesting at all.

I am surprised with the other high reviews, i can understanding the liking for the movie, but this much high stars, well this is certainly not right.

The kind of movie, you watch or you dont, no difference.

A light comedy movie talking about important issues

An Sunday evening well spent watching this movie. Gajraj Rao is fantastic, as always. Vibha Chibber plays the perfect nosy neighbour.

Divyendu and Rajpal Yadav are brilliant.

Loved the concept and story - more such movies need to be made.

We as a society need to realise that nobody wants or needs to spend their life alone, we all need love- even our parents and grand parents.

Thank you for keeping it so light and fresh- and not an intense movie. Such a brilliant way to make people aware about sexual health and issues. I watched it with friends and family, and there was NEVER an awkward moment.

When you have such amazing actors working together, you know its going to be good.

Breaking the generation gap

Love the concept of the movie, the message towards the end was so direct and simple yet beautifully presented by all the actors. Love Gajraj rao's action g skills in it. His acting was amazing and quite natural to the character. The direction of the movie was good enough that it don't create a boring moments. This movie had shown how to keep friendship, parenthood, brotherhood together. Just love all the major and minor characters in it. This movie has crossed barriers between the generation too. Just loved watching it. Will strongly recommend to people who wants to watch simple, entertaining and light hearted comedy movie.

Must watch movie

In a very clean manner strong message was given.. at least we have to consider someone as human being. It's quite entertaining ..nice to see rajpal yadav and munna bhaiya (his name is quite difficult to remember). There are funny sequences and the positive thing which is to be considered that now through these platforms we are actually seeing movies on those topics which we hesitate to discuss. Main focus of this movie is we never thought that elders also have problems,, we only make fun of them when they try discuss some personal issues.. it's quite emotional movie with family values and value of relationship.
