I have always had a hard time watching Swedish productions as a Swede. This time, I felt like almost everything was well executed. Acting was mostly great, cast was up to the mark, script was of a high standard and the plot was, besides being predictable (obviously), really captivating. Just great.
I really think they managed to overcome the "problem" of choosing a side here. Who do I really want things to go well for? You ended up in some sort of middle ground that followed during the course of the series, which I was content with.
Something that I felt was a little off was the team of detectives, or whatever they are supposed to be called. They did not exude direct competence. Everyone but Leonie felt rather uninterested in the whole case. She had to come in as a savior in times of need a little too often, even when it came to things that felt relatively obvious. But maybe that is how it all went down, what do I know?
Overall, I really enjoyed the series. It was captivating and offered details, which I believe happened in reality, and which had not been heard of before. I think it is worth seeing for everyone, not just Swedes who have pre existing knowledge of the case.

I really liked this series based on real events. It is very exciting and in each episode the tension rises more and more.
It's not simply about the robbery it's about relationships, economic pressures, loyalty and desperation that lead individuals to extraordinary measures, rather than glorifying the criminal deed.
The emotional heart is family, and sometimes the family history is a little dense and can distract from the main theme, although it didn't bother me, because the plot has a lot of potential and it is very gripping.
The performances are brilliant and the plot is very well built. Don't miss this one!

*Helicopter Heist* was absolutely brilliant, and I'm honestly baffled by all the whining. People complaining seem to expect some kind of flawless Hollywood blockbuster, completely missing the point. The series delivered a gripping story, great pacing, and solid performances that kept me hooked the entire time. Sure, it's not perfect-but honestly, who cares? It's a true story, not some overproduced Marvel movie. If you can't appreciate the effort that went into bringing this insane heist to life, then you're just being ungrateful. Stop nitpicking and enjoy it for what it is: thrilling, raw, unforgettable, and totally worth the watch.
As a big fan of "Moneyheist" (La Casa...) I kind of like this even more as it nots so polished.
Every star in money heist were photo-esque, stars or selected to be great cover material for magazines.
Here we have more or less normal people, behaving as people do. They were not perfect, and we got to know them as how they live and... work.
The acting from our main stars are amazing, and as a Swede I think the script and dialogue were spot on.
Scenery and locations were as it is, imperfect too. The location wasnt a polished office building, but more as a industry building - as it was in reality. Kudos to details!
Having it as a mini-serie, fantastic - if this had been a hollywood production with action and dramatized events with no back-story. No thanks.
This was simply put great!

The actors are really good. I usually don't like to watch Swedish shows because of their bad acting but they have evolved and they really picked out right actors for this show. I didnt like that it was so dragged out. 5 or 6 episodes would have been enough. Some scenes felt a bit too repetetive. However, what I did enjoy was the depiction of the actors' feelings and fears. It felt real. When the heist scenes went on, I really felt the tension. The camera angles, the music.. it made everything look epic.
The actors' lines felt realistic too. Not too rehersed. You could really feel and see how their personalities changed from first to last episode. They became robbers. Criminals. They portrayed that flawlessly.

Phenomenally well done. Actors are beliavable, the score helps build the drams and anguish lead character feels. Being Swedish I remember this robbery well, it was quite the story in the media and kind of the end of the Yugoslavian mafia running Stockholms underworld.
WHY DOES A REVIEW HAVE TO BE 600 WORDS, EPISODE 1 WAS BETTER THAN EPISODE 2 WHICH WAS WORSE THAN EPISODE 4 BUT BETTTER THAN EPIOSDE7 WHICH IN TURN WAS SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN EPISODE 3, BUT EPISODE 5 WAS BETTER THAN EPISODE 2 AND EPISODE 8 WAS TO PLACEMENT OVER 2. WHICH EPISODE WAS BEST ACCORDING TO ME - EIGHT HUNDRED CHARACTERS...

If you're looking for a story telling of criminals in Europe this is a good one. People are critical about the portrayal of the criminals that they are not that colorful. But to me it's realistic. A though life that's taken a bad turn. Yes it can be a little too long building up the characters. I also think that they spend to much time on planning the heist. They should have focused more on hiding and being on the run afterwards. Because that's the truth about the story. Tjej had to release the arrested robbers and court proceedings didn't start until one year later.
But I like the actors work and that they aren't flashy just bad decisions that got them into a tough spot.
If you're looking for a series like the film heat this ain't it.

What can do wrong with the retelling of Swedish heist movie?
A lot it turns out.
Stretched out to a uncomphensible 8-part miniseries.... this so-called thriller caper heist drama goes wrong from the very start.
With its intentions of depicting the real men behind these criminals, the show tries to indulge us in their private lives with the hope that we would care for them.
Instead, we are shown cliché depictions of ordinary Swedish small time criminals, who has close to zero originality or uniqueness.
Our man guy, a failed ex-con is bad at doing business as a restaurant entrepreneur and ends up in debt with some Spanish thugs. Really... Am I supposed to be impressed or emotionally affected by this genius?!
And the depiction of his father-in-law is so moronic that it comes off as a student film.
The overall writing is too uneventful and cliché that one forgets that it's about one of the most unique crimes in modern Swedish times.
And the Swedish-Serbian police investigator is laughable in its cliché-filled depiction. The dialogue with her colleagues is beyond stale.
And PLEASE don't do a meta-reference to the classic HEAT?! It reminds the viewer how subpar this production is in comparison.
Tell the producers to get some great writers next time.

Wow, this series simply blew me away! I was hooked from the first episode. The mix of action, suspense, and the emotional depth of the characters is just incredible. What really stood out was how the story isn't just about a robbery; it dives into loyalty, desperation, and the choices people make when backed into a corner. Every twist kept me guessing, and the acting was so raw and real that I forgot I was watching a series. This is one of the best true-crime dramas I've ever seen-10/10 without a doubt!
I don't remember the last time I watched something in one breath. You won't regret spending your time on this!

If you are a swede, there is about no plausible chance you have missed out on the real helicopter heist taking place in 2009. If you, adding to it, are also a true crime fan you have also already heard, seen and read everything there is to know about this heist. What this series do so well is to tell the story from an angle we haven't heard before: We're invited into the actual robbers minds and we spend at least four episodes on their backstories and characters. Ronnie Sandahl and the actors who met with and interviewed the robbers did a fantastic job in telling the stories, THEIR STORIES, in this mini series.
This series is obviously not produced with the intention to preach to the choir which is why I think there are so many critics being disappointed in that they didn't learn anything new about the heist from this series. Yet, the series does a great job inviting a whole new audience to take part in one of the most baffling heists in modern history.
The series is a masterpiece - sure with some flaws (they never explained who the locals in DR would be) but still the best production from Sweden since Chernobyl on HBO.

You may know how the ending goes, as this was a famous story that actually happened. But watching it, I cannot help but be mesmerised with the characters and their motivations.
No glossy glamour of a heist like Oceans Eleven or Money Heist (Casa de Papel), this one is realistically portrayed. The characters are like regular people, like you and me, with challenges in life, and they're trying their best with what they have.
No superstar unblemished looks and perfect hairdo that make you wonder if you're watching a commercial.
It just so happens realistically that things go wrong, plans don't work, etc. But like me, I think you'd not only be well rewarded with an entertaining show, but gripped with suspense at every episode.

This series got my heart pumping and my blood pressure so sky high I nearly soiled myself by the end of episode 6. Seriously.
I've seldom watched a more perfectly casted, acted, filmed, and written series. In many such heist dramas, the buildup to the actual event is lame and predictable. Not so in 'The Helicopter Heist', with incredibly beautiful, meaningful themes of expectation, familial obligation, duty, love, and dissappointment following the major characters all the way to their anticipated jackpot. The event itself - as well as various other points throughout the series - was filled with energy building scenes dripping with dramatic irony, drawing out the tension beyond all reasonableness, making the audience sit on the literal edge of their seats wondering when certain events would transpire.
In short, I was thoroughly entertained and satisfied by this series and I highly recommend it.

This is a great thriller throughout. It has a wound-up tension that gets tighter as the story moves along.
The acting was first-rate and convincing. The characters were real and not the cardboard types that you sometimes find in this action-thriller genre.
There is a great build-up to the heist, and we see all the preparations taking place, and then how things never quite work out as planned.
I really appreciated that this never went into the cliché of extended car chases and crashes - and shoot-outs with lots of gunfire and explosions.

Good serisi Those who like this genre will find it a bit stretched. But Khoula is of high quality throughout the series. This series is like the new Hollywood trend that is branding Iran. And the series is also a useful critique of the corrupt judicial system, showing how easily you can circumvent the law with a good lawyer and a pimp. Overall, it's a good series, the actors are good, it shows the social life of immigrants. The story progresses better in the second or third part, but the first part is good for character development. Of course, the middle of the series became too long and had too many extra scenes, which made it a bit boring.
"Helikopterrånet" transcends the typical true-crime drama. This Swedish miniseries, a dramatization of the infamous 2009 Stockholm helicopter robbery, is a masterclass in suspenseful storytelling, meticulous detail, and immersive filmmaking.
From the outset, the series plunges viewers into the heart of the operation. We're not merely observers; we're confidantes, privy to the meticulous planning, the anxieties, and the daring execution of this audacious heist. The tension is palpable, expertly crafted through a series of escalating challenges and near misses that leave you breathless.
The series excels in its nuanced character portrayals. While the supporting cast may have occasional moments of unevenness, the core performances are nothing short of captivating. We understand their motivations, their desperation, and ultimately, their humanity. This emotional depth elevates "Helikopterrånet" beyond a simple procedural, forcing us to confront the complexities of these individuals and the choices they make.
Visually, the series is stunning. Stockholm is rendered with cinematic flair, showcasing the city's iconic landmarks and hidden corners from breathtaking aerial perspectives. This visual richness amplifies the sense of immersion, making us feel like active participants in this high-stakes game of cat and mouse.
"Helikopterrånet" is not just a must-watch; it's an essential viewing experience for anyone who appreciates masterful storytelling. It's a gripping, immersive, and emotionally resonant exploration of one of Sweden's most daring heists. Bravo to the filmmakers for delivering a series that will undoubtedly become a benchmark in the genre.

Throughout there is no glamorization ofbthe story told even though it was referenced in a mission for GTA 5. The acting is first class throughout. This will keep you on edge.
We so often heist stories originating from the UK or Uas so it's great to see some Northern Europeean storytelling with fine actors to back it up.
Given also it is based on true events it's difficult not to take this seriously. What these robbers were willing to do and the backdrop as to why is told in an honest way not dressing it up like alin a movie.
Certainly it was more mundane in real life but the level of detail shown by the robbers is credible.

Rather boring and predictable. Feels like Espinosa just wants it to be over with. Quite bad actors, a stort everyone in sweden knows and if they don't know it already it becomes obvious rather quickly.
I wasted too much time on a series basically. The only really good thing was that the wine was good.
Why can't we in sweden do any good series any more? I remember a time when it felt like the creators actually gave a damn, but not it is just plastic.
When seeing Chernobyl I actually thought we could be back in the game again with Stakka Bo as director, but I was wrong. Don't waste your time on this.

As a Norwegian, I have a great appreciation for Swedish films, and this series captures a vibe similar to Easy Money (Snabba Cash), which I absolutely love and have watched countless times.
I'm halfway through the series and am blown away by the intense scenes and the realistic yet grim and somber tone it portrays. In many ways, I feel this is a story that truly resonates with those who have experienced or understand the struggles of being an outsider, living a life on the edge.
It's incredibly well-produced, absolutely thrilling, and completely worth watching. Whether you're a fan of Scandinavian crime dramas or just enjoy stories with depth and grit, I can't recommend it enough!
