Blended with an analog style that still evokes nostalgia, its aesthetic holds together a fragmented story. By the time its first uploads appeared, the found footage format already had a long history. Two relevant precedents could be mentioned. The first is Marbel Hornets (2004-2019), which introduced the Slenderman creature and is also a serialized series on YouTube, belonging to the creepypasta genre and sharing the same aesthetic but with a different theme. It is also worth mentioning Gemini Home Entertainment (2019) which is contemporary to these series and has been developed by the same means and in similar ways. The second precedent are maze-style video games like Wolfenstein or Doom, where danger lurks around every corner.

The various episodes reinforce or update information about the scientific project at the A-Sync Research Institute. Of these, I consider the most important to be: The Backrooms (Found Footage) and Found Footage #2. And while the other episodes may contain relevant information, they often end up being redundant and repetitive. For example, Found Footage #3 lasts almost an hour and isn't that important to the story, except to show us the liminal spaces for longer.

Kane Parsons, better known as kane pixels, has shown that the terror of the internet can surpass the terror of cinemas.

The liminal spaces he creates are the deepest dream of a generation that grew up in them. He amplifies the vision we had when we were first in those places, creating an emotion of nostalgia, impact, fascination, and fear. On the other hand, it adds a huge layer of intrigue and a hidden story in the films completely.

In conclusion, he proved that independent horror is still alive by giving us a new and refreshing experience in this overexploited world of horror.

Actually, whoever says that the show doesnt makes any sense, missed the lore and the chronological order of this tv show,and if we find the connection (a lot of YouTube videos have talked about that)we can arrive to the conclusion that The backrooms tv show by Kane Parsons its the best found footage show of all time. Its even more statically cruel and violent than cannibal Holocaust,because in CH the violence is graphical meanwhile in the backrooms the static location actually assoults our mind to create a persistent state of anxiety,and going on with the show can lead to loose the sanity. Slow,creepy,unnerving,how the exploration of the backrooms was described in that 4chan post,mr parsons made a 3d version that can be a competitor of all the horror movies of all time and its actually more than most of them.

With THE BACKROOMS, a series of short videos designed to disorient and terrify, Kane Parsons has created a nightmare world of utter desolation and anxiety. It's a bizarre realm where nothing complies with logic or the common, sane view of reality.

Imagine waking up in a place that's just a labyrinth of unfathomable, unending dread. A place that's not so much a location as it is a self-constructed trap where humans attempt to make sense of its continuous hallways, rooms, and passages. Where something lurks. Something that only computes in our darkest dreams.

Parsons has taken horror into a whole new direction, by aiming straight for our basest fears: isolation, abandonment, eternal dullness, flatness, and sudden jolts of inescapable terror. Ultimately, as with all great horror efforts, THE BACKROOMS taps directly into our fear of the unknown, as well as our fear of death. It holds us in its grip, and won't let us go until we face it...
