It seems like many independent thrillers these days are slow burns , this film was the opposite. The opening scene sets the pace and doesn't stop there! You'll gasp again, and again, and again.
Growing up in small town Alberta in the 80s I heard stories about families and their dramas from over the years . This film gives you a first hand look at one such family in the 1930's when times were desperate, and tough. It takes you there with carefully created sets, locations ,and the characters wardrobe hair and makeup.
The writer and director did an exceptional job bringing this story to the big screen showcasing some extraordinary Alberta talent along the way .
Buckle up and get ready for more thrills and chills than you'll know what to do with it .

Watched this at the okotoks film festival and it was a real pleasure to take in this movie on the big screen and to hear from the filmmakers afterwards about the making of the film!
So cool to see a movie made in Alberta by Albertans and containing Alberta history in the story.
The lighting in this movie I thought was especially good!
I loved the performances by the cast and all the locations used felt authentic to the time period.
The story was complex but easy to follow and kept me engaged and invested the whole time.
The ending was a real shock and was a great way to tie up the whole story.

What a ride!
Saw this in a packed theatre at the Okotoks Film Festival, and I am so glad I was able to see it in that setting!
This film will challenge you. The characters do not make the right decisions, and the story will make you feel uncomfortable at times, but the acting and direction ensure you are supported throughout. The editing near the end added to the anxiety and despair felt by the actors on screen. Beautifully shot and proud to know it's a truly Alberta-made film.
The best part was listening to the audience around me. As those moments came up, it was wild to listen to the reactions. Shocked breaths as well as real and nervous laughs to break the tension.
Awesome movie. See it with an audience if you can.
