Good story. Writing and script annoying sometimes. Tear-jerker but nice ending. I did shed a tear which makes it worth watching.
Peyton seems to play a ghost really well careful she may be type cast in this type of role. I remember her in 'School Spirits' in this she is only restrained by the script.
I really like the ending it was a pleasant suprise.
I don't think this will win any awards and I chose to watch it because Peyton is in it playing the ghost role again. I wish they would produce another series of School Spirits, it finished with lots of unanswered questions which seems to happen with lots of low budjet series.

Watched with my wife and it was a quick fun movie that was a change of pace from the regular halloween releases the last few years. Definitely recommend for teens and pre-teens or just a nice couples movie to relax to. When it was over sitting with my wife we kept talking about it being so familiar and after some searching we remembered the old Disney movie with the Pink Power Ranger. Not exactly the same and (apparently there is no streaming copy of Susie Q available). Girl Haunts boy was Still a good watch with nice music and the actors did a nice job with a ghostly romance story. If you can find a copy of Susie Q after I would recommend for a follow up to this one.

I enjoyed the premise of the story but some aspects in the movie made me think the producers didn't quite get things right. For example, since when does a century old female ghost wear white nail polish? At different scenes she doesn't have nail polish though. Also, a national museum at night would not have the front door open and without a guard making it really easy to break in. Little things like that just makes me question the lack of attention to details. Yeah yeah I know it's a petty little thing, but things like that should matter when you're filming a movie. Authenticity matters to make the experience more fluid.

Girl Haunts Boy was honestly a pleasant surprise. It had that cozy, slightly quirky vibe that works well for a supernatural romance, and the directing kept things grounded even when the story leaned into the more whimsical moments. Emily Ting handled the pacing pretty well, giving the characters enough space to grow without dragging the plot. The production was clean and polished without feeling too polished, if that makes sense. It had a kind of indie spirit but looked and sounded like a proper feature.
Acting-wise, both Peyton List and Michael Cimino brought a lot of charm and sincerity to their roles. They had great chemistry, and it helped carry the emotional beats without things feeling forced. The script kept things light without losing its emotional core, which made it easy to connect with the characters. Nothing felt over-explained or too dramatic. The score was subtle but nicely done, and the cinematography had some soft, warm tones that gave the film a nice visual texture. It's one of those films that doesn't scream for attention but ends up sticking with you a bit after. Definitely worth a watch.

It is a sweet story with moments that are pretty good.
Unfortunately, between those moments it also has some really slow sections.
It has some fun and it has some real heart, but it also felt like it was about 20 minutes too long. They could have streamlined it a fair amount or added another character or two for him to interact with. More Lydia would have been great and perhaps another new 'friend' that would keep finding him appearing to talk to himself or even a sidekick for Lydia.
While the main characters generally did fine, they just weren't always enough to carry it through so long mostly by themselves. The fun, more lighthearted scenes were great; but the chemistry between the leads and the stronger emotional sections were where they struggled. Those sometimes felt forced. A couple good side characters could have easily distracted from much of that.
There were a fair amount of plot holes and overly convenient moments. Someone shouldn't be completely oblivious to the changes in the world when they can see out windows, front doors to museums aren't usually unlocked and unguarded after hours, if they can see and hear people living in the house over the years it would seem they would pick up slang and exclusive, high end parties aren't generally things that are super easy to just walk into unnoticed, especially out of costume. Like so many movies, it felt like just a bit more time spent on fine tuning the script could have made a big difference.

The acting just seems off. It feels like everyone is acting. The lines feel like lines.
I don't really know why, maybe just how people are talking? It doesn't feel like real conversation.
The story is cute. If the acting was better it would be a good movie. It's a fun concept. But I'm only halfway through and I don't really want to keep watching. The bad acting makes it so you can't get immersed in the movie. Everyone sounds like they're reciting memorized lines.
It's very weird. I don't think I've ever watched a movie that seems like acting like this. None of the emotions are believable, the way people talk sounds very fake and unrealistic. Especially the lead actress, everything she says sounds like memorized lines. I think it's tone or volume or pausing? Maybe all of it. It's not enjoyable to watch people recite lines.

A fluffy story that has been done before or better perhaps, but still watchable for what it is.
Choices in actors & their acting is ok,with decent cinematography.. Although feel perhaps the female lead, could of been differently done.
Has typical clichés,plotholes & stereotypes.. Ghost, curse, love story & some typical closure.
This movie is geared more towards teens, but adults can enjoy it.
Not something will rewatch, again! But worth a one time viewing,as a weekend popcorn flick.
Not sure what else to say,but requires another 230+characters.
This website needs to change that, makes you feel you need to be overly wordy.

Wow, what a beautiful movie with an original story! I think Peyton List and Michael Cimino were perfect casting and acted so well together. The story was so hauntingly beautiful even though it was sometimes sad. The music was also really well done and I loved the original songs, wish i could find them on Spotify or Apple music. The only reason I only gave this movie nine stars instead of ten is because while I understand why the movie ended the way it did and I thought it was a great ending, the romantic in me would have loved a different ending even more! I really do think this story has a wonderful message though so really the current ending perfectly serves that message. I definitely recommend watching it.

As someone who usually steers clear of romance movies, Girl Haunts Boy took me by complete surprise. It's not your typical love story-it's an enchanting mix of humor, heartfelt emotion, and an irresistible touch of the supernatural. The film struck a rare balance between being adorably fresh and deeply emotional, keeping me glued to the screen the entire time.
The chemistry between the two leads was simply magical. Their dynamic felt so genuine and natural that I couldn't help but root for them. From their witty banter to the quiet, tender moments, their connection completely drew me in.
What really sets Girl Haunts Boy apart is its unique tone. While the movie is filled with laugh-out-loud moments and quirky charm, there's an underlying sadness that tugs at your heartstrings. Somehow, though, it never feels heavy-it's more of a bittersweet, uplifting sadness. I cried so much, but I with a happy, full heart.
If you're looking for a romance that feels fresh, funny, and deeply touching, Girl Haunts Boy is a must-watch. Even if romance isn't your usual genre (like me), this film might just surprise you. It's a beautiful reminder that love, in all its forms, can be hauntingly unforgettable.

The story is light hearted has some good little comedic spots, has some romance and friendship and some supernatural spots as well. Some of the reviews I read about the story I feel missed stuff like the unlocked doors if you pay attention you can see how that gets bypassed pretty easy. Overall enjoy the film it's fun may cause some tears at some point. Never A bad thing in my opinion.
Peyton List is becoming a netflix darling and I am here for it! From cobra kai to school spirits an now this I look forward to more from her in the future.
Cause imdb needs more words happy halloween I guess:)

Original, fun and safe, even for kids. I like scary stuff and romance too, so... Well there's a venn diagram!
In this tiny niche I would include "Warm Bodies" where a girl finds true love with a zombie, and even the old "Gremlins" movies.
Hallmark style, pretty scenery, with warm sets, and plenty of bokeh. There aren't a lot of twists, but the few they use are great!
Peyton is new to me, but she's fantastic and I would give a movie a chance just to see her do more. This part seemed as easy as breathing for her.
Overall 8 of Ten rated as what it is. A safe and fun Halloween Romance. As those go, this is one of the best.

A sweet ghost story that slows down the pace and provides a touching theme of cherishing memories while still living in the present to the fullest. The acting and direction managed to evoke strong emotional responses which may be unexpected by viewers who thought they were hardened against sentimentality. Not for those looking for fast paced thrills. Almost gave up on it thinking it was dull but glad to stick with it for a good cry. The sci-fi time period disparity was handled quite nicely and the entire story was rendered very tastefully. It was a pleasure to be entertained without hearing the Lord's name used in vain or seeing anybody get shot or stabbed. A family film that provides a recreational retreat experience from which you come out refreshed and entertained. Its a good thing that such a selection is still available in the movie database.
I expected this to be a cute movie. And it is cute. But I didn't expect it to punch me in the heart and cradle my soul. This movie is absolutely beautiful. Most movies I watch for entertainment and forget about them the next day. This one has stayed with me for weeks. It's simple and complex at the same time. There were moments when I thought it was a little slow, but when it all wrapped up in the end scene I realized everything was perfectly how it should have been. The character of Lydia was an absolute gem bringing a layer of quirkiness to the story. Loved the role that music played throughout and weaving in The Great Gatsby. Loved it. Watch it.

I went into this movie skeptical. I love Peyton List, but the vibes were a little weird to me at first. However it is a phenomenal movie I genuinely loved and would recommend to anyone, ESPECIALLY lovers of The Great Gatsby. The themes of grief, love, and life are perfectly explored and portrayed in a way that's meant to be realistic (putting aside the ghost thing lol), and the music is good, too. It made me laugh, cry, and smile, definitely not what I was expecting.
Again, I'd recommend this to The Great Gatsby lovers (it plays a big motif in the movie I think is perfect for the theme), those who aren't into horror and don't mind more fall-esc movies than purely Halloween, though that is definitely there.
The acting is great, the story is great. Overall, would definitely rewatch this one!

"Girl Haunts Boy" is a refreshingly heartfelt take on the supernatural genre for young kiddos, blending elements of a ghost story with a poignant exploration of friendship and loneliness. The film follows a young boy who moves into a new home and unexpectedly befriends the spirit of a girl from the 1920s who still lingers there. What starts as a spooky encounter quickly transforms into a touching bond that transcends time, filled with warmth, humor, and moments of genuine emotion.
The chemistry between the young boy and the spectral girl is the heart of the film, and both actors deliver performances that feel authentic and moving. Their relationship, which grows from curiosity to deep connection, beautifully explores themes of isolation, loss, and the comfort found in unlikely places.
The film is visually stunning, with its period details of the 1920s seamlessly blended into the modern-day setting, creating a unique atmosphere that's both eerie and nostalgic. The ghostly elements are handled with just the right amount of subtlety, allowing the emotional core of the story to shine without being overshadowed by horror clichés.
Overall, "Girl Haunts Boy" is a charming and unexpectedly tender film that goes beyond the usual haunted house narrative. It's a story of friendship, healing, and finding companionship where you least expect it. Definitely worth a watch for a family movie night with young kiddos.

As a matter of facts, there is nothing new in the concept or plot of the movie, but the themes of letting someone go, moving on in the life and cherishing the memories of loved one, are beautifully woven in this cute, emotionally moving story. The story uses so many cliché, although it feels fresh. The elements of Great Gatsby are superbly layered into it. The last lines from protagonist's assignment are gold. The last scene too is simply beautiful. Movie's tittle could be something better, something poetic. 'Girl Haunts Boy' doens't do justice. It should be something like, "100 years stand between us too." (From the song protagonist plays at the end.)

I love the story. And I love the music specially the song at the end. Well, I don't wanna go on and on about what happened in the movie but I love movies that come from books. Now I'm gonna have to read the book. It's a really sucks that I have to write characters to make a review. I'm not gonna go into depth about the movie because that would give it away, but I always love stories that have to do with time. Either time travel or a ghost in a person in the current world.zylxoysltztkjgcpjxlgzlgcjxlgzlhxluxkhl. Kxyxoyxouxulxou xiyoyxhsulsoys tkzoysoysoyspu xkyzoyzouxpuxi gist okay. Now I just need to find the music for that last song Google says there's no such thing somebody please tell me the name of that song that was at the end of the movie.

Sat down to watch with my teen daughter.
Its hard to watch anything together.
This movie was simple. We enjoyed it a lot. The main male and female lead keep us watching. We also liked the side kick girl.
Loves the theme of the 1920s and how they tied it to a book.
The gas laughable moments, crying moments and just plan simple ones.
The male lead sings and that was a pleasure as well.
There was dancing but not done well haha We enjoyed the friend. She was not over bearing and loud like most. Honestly, I would have preferred to see her on screen more than the mother .
O, the teacher. He is one we all longed to or long to have that's for sure.
Don't get to caught up in the whole where's and hows because honestly, the story line made little to no sense but it was good none the less.

Good Story. Peyton List played the role of Bea very well and convincingly. The other roles were also well played and supported the credibility of the Story. It would have been cool if there had been some more background story about Bea, since the flashbacks to the past were really well done. The music and the costumes were also very well chosen and I am glad that in this film the past scenes are not colored in black and white. All in all a very good film, I can only recommend it
Yes, I have nothing more to say, but I still have to write 144 characters, so I'll write now that to fill the remaining Characters.

The film's story line is beautifully crafted, making it stand out among numerous romance films. It effortlessly captures the essence of teenage romance while weaving a narrative that resonates deeply with the heart. The depiction of sacrifice and the profound bond between the two characters elevates the film, setting it apart from typical romance narratives. The emotional depth and authenticity in their relationship evoke genuine feelings, making it a memorable watch.
The soundtrack also deserves a special mention, with tracks like "A Life Lived" and "Still Haunted by You" striking a perfect chord, adding to the film's emotional impact.
Profound, heartfelt, unforgettable-a true masterpiece in the romance genre.

I cannot say enough about Michael Cimino in this role. I do not think it would have worked without him. Yes, many of the supporting cast are good, especially Andrea Navedo as his grieving mother and Ohoebe Holden is charming as his only friend in the new school, Lydia.
Peyton List does a good job as Bea, she was happy and a little one note, but that wasn't a real problem, death was not written into her script till the auction scene.
The story isn't anything new (but then again what stories are?) And although one reviewer on IMDB called it "fluffy" they are right, but fluffy is not terrible. This is a well made movie and charming and kind and hopeful.
I thought the music was good. Cimino's singer was excellent as well.
I beleive that it was a family ghost story with heart.
