I have to admit that I'm not a 'believer' so this show seems to me to be a scripted series with excellent researchers carefully checking up on her 'clients' before their appearances. It's even more unrealistic when she does readings for celebrities whose life details are even easier to find. I do like her, having seen her in person twice where she seemed extremely pleasant and accommodating to her fans. However, I think her gimmick is phony baloney and appeals only to those who truly believe in the after-life and desperately want to reconnect to their deceased loved ones.

This season's editions have not been up to snuff. Celebrities, for the most part, are boring. A big part of Theresa's appeal is her ability to interact psychically with every day people. Lately though, maybe as a means of boosting ratings, this has not been the case.
Also, why is the Long Island medium spending so much time in unedgy LaLa Land? I realize her soon to be ex now lives there, but she shouldn't be following. The Long Island medium should be in Long Island. Period, end of sentence!!

The show itself is watchable. Once you realize she simply cold reads or cheats to come up with information or uses plants it's despicable. Then editing works it's magic. Shows you the good stuff where it seems she's connecting with someone. If you don't know what cold reading is then you should youtube: Theresa Caputo exposed as fake and it explains it quite well. Cold reading's been done for a long time and she's a liar. Imagine basing your career off lying about helping people and connecting with their loved ones. Most of these cold readers rationalize it by thinking they're giving comfort even if it's not true. Well I'm sure she can rationalize it to herself when she's raking in the dough. If this doesn't bother you then go ahead watch it.

A woman makes money by conning people, seems like a good TV show. I have sympathy for those that think such cons are in their best interests but when it comes to the internet there really should be no pardon for his kind of crap. What kind of person do you have to be to make a living doing this? I get that these people are professionals when it comes to seeming nice and likable, that's their job after all, but in 2014 how the hell are people still buying it?
Apparently I can't pad this review out with junk like the show does most of its episodes so I'll leave it here and hope it's enough.
Sigh.

Absolutely love this show! The amount of sceptics she has turned into believers is awesome! Not sure why this show has so many bad reviews saying its a scam! No wayyy! She blows people off their feet by telling them things no one would have ever known and to know that their loved ones were with them during important moments after they passed. Its so nice to see people get closure after they have lost a loved one and have peace. I love when she surprises people. They seem to be the ones that need to speak to their lost loved ones the most. I have seen almost every episode and will continue to watch!

It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. Her talent is one in a million, like the great Chico Xavier, who helped millions if people with his altruism, kindness and gift.
People who bad mouth the show have no idea what spiritism is..

Don't support this. This woman is taking advantage of people's feelings and emotions. It's basiclly abusive.
I never heard of this show until I ran across it by accident. TLC was doing one of those things where they play one episode after another. I started watching and was absolutely hooked in just a few minutes. Theresa is the real deal. It's so obvious that she's telling people stuff that she never could have known except through a connection with "Spirit" as she calls it. The shock on people's face when she tells them stuff she could not have known or found out is evident and authentic. Aside from that, Theresa herself seems to be bursting with "joie de vivre." She's having a good time with her family, her life and the people in it and she's using her gift to help others. I highly recommend you give this show a chance. If you don't believe in mediums or spirits, it may just make a believer out of you. If it doesn't, I still think you'll enjoy watching Theresa and her family go along dealing with day to day life and factoring in her gift along with that.

You are making money but at what cost. This woman/human is a desperate fame hungry from hell. Haha, family, haha, people. What a disgrace. I'm scared for her kids. She's a vicious vile liar. Liar. liar.

I hate that she probably charges a lot of money for a private reading but when she is out in public she does it for free to any random person she gets a "vibe" from. That would make me angry if I spent a lot of money for a private reading. So what should people do, hope they run into her at the grocery store in hopes of getting a free reading?

I have watched multiple episodes waiting for her to actually give a real reading and stop with the very poor cold reads. I now see she is simply incapable of doing cold reads well as this woman is full of red flags. My sister became a fake Psychic because of this woman and she laughed when she saw "how easy it is to trick stupid people to get their money" according to her.
This show is a good example of what a poorly trained con artist can do when people are disparate for awnsers and/or comfort. I recommend this series to many people so they can see what even the worst Psychics can accomplish out of simple luck. Even though she never gives rare details as any real Psychic does, and she gives very little information, she serves as a great example of what a real Psychic doesn't do.

I've felt attracted to the paranormal ever since I had my first experience, as a child. And I have seen my share of stuff. I even live in a house that was apparently occupied by some ghost. Someone came and get "it" to leave. So after that, I don't think is impossible that she could be a medium. I don't know what's involved in the making, and how they might follow her all day with the cameras. But from the first time I saw the show, I thought it was fun and weird. Then out of curiosity, I continued watching episode after episode, and I came to understand the format, and even to love it. You get laughs, emotions, etc, plus it really seems so natural. Any how, it's a good show to watch. Along with that I have watched similar shows, such as Medium and Ghost Whisperer, My Haunted house and My Ghost Stories. Check them out.
She is a character. a great one. for her energy and for the revelations about the past of her clients, for rhytm of life and for the power to assume the life. portrrait of a medium, the show is more. it is a fascinating t remember about the connections with the relatives and a beautiful invitation to live in joy. a serie about courage and about the high value of life. for me, one of series for refresh me. because it is not only about paranormal. it is not only entertainment. it represents a serie about giving and ordinary family crisis and a film about America. first, I was skeptical about the powers of Theresa Caputo and abouther cases or revelations about the past of people. but the significant part is dipper in this case. because, in essence, it is a serie about yourself. the emotion of the persons, the fears or vulnerability of Theresa are yours. and that does "Long Island Medium" special.

Saw Teresa at a live show in Vancouver. Was a big fan going in until I saw the show. So contrived and fake. She spoke in such generalizations that anyone in a group of 5+ could relate to! Like- "who here lost a father figure?" And 20 hands go up... then "who's father passed suddenly?" And ten hands remain... and so on. If someone gave an answer to her question that wasn't what she expected- then it was "her interpretation of the spirit world" and she would search for SOMETHING that resonated with that person until it hit. I was 100% a fan before this show. Now I see her as a big show person. Perhaps her 1:1 readings are different and I'm sure she has a gift- but it certainly is suspect in a crowd. Hugely disappointed. Would not recommend.
Just like politics, no matter what proof is given, people will always believe what they want to believe. I just wish that some people would stop trying to take away from others what makes them feel good. Leave others alone to make up their own minds, stop trying to cause disbelief in what helps people emotionally. The government hasn't mandated how everyone is allowed to spend their money today yet. This society has turned so negative, so much hatred. Why can't others let people find happiness? It amazes me, how many people in this generation get more happiness out of making other people miserable.
