Korean Drama " The King of Pigs " is a serial killer story with a slow build-up.
The drama is truly dark, not shying away from the gore, which wasn't only there for the shock effect, but to enhance the intensity of the drama. The background story was near horrifying and is being explained slowly, as it helps uncover the current murder case as well.
In addition, the performances were great by everyone in the cast.
And the ending suited the drama perfectly, with the pace of the story fast. The cinematography of the series was pretty impressive too, with the flashbacks well handled.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

Crazy twist and turns, it had me pulling my hair out, but in a good way. It's exciting and has unexpected turns but still feels very realistic. It's scary, dark, and most definitely a tragedy but was so compelling I couldn't stop watching. And the dog and pig symbolism is simply gutting (again in a good way). I loved it, the revenge is satisfying but also makes you feel kinda sad. And I would say it's similar to "The Glory" in many ways (school bullying revenge). Also it brings more attention to how serious bullying is. It's amazing and a definite must watch if you can handle lots of sadness and some gore.

It's criminal for this series hasn't got many reviews. If this was on Netflix this would've been viral. If you love thriller, this one's for you. Fast paced and edge of seat kinda series. Sad, gritty and gory at the same time. Hope this gets more attention.
Really strong, well written thriller that pulls you in from ep 1 and is entertaining from start to finish. It is dark and treats a heavy subject, but if you are ok with that, you will not be able to look away.
In my opinion, it is definitely the best k-drama thriller of 2022 and one of the best of all time.

Just finished this show & came here to see the rating and reviews!!! There is none!!! As usual one hell of an experience 👌🏻 Just Loved the way every main lead portrayed the characters!! The boys who did the school life roles just simply did their roles outstanding! The extreme level of bullying and extreme level of payback !!

The direction of the show is impeccable; from the plot to the characters, and even the actors' performances, everything is top-notch. It effectively portrays the impact of bullying on its victims and their enduring suffering. While the story is fictional, it realistically depicts a scenario that could occur without the revenge killings. It sheds light on how bullies often move on with their lives while their victims continue to struggle. The series is meticulously crafted to captivate viewers, although its lack of virality is regrettable. Nevertheless, this series is a hidden gem. The only gripe I have is the portrayal of the police as slow. Although it serves the narrative, it's a minor annoyance for me. Despite this, the series is well worth my time and certainly didn't disappoint.

I can't believe this KDrama doesn't have more reviews; it's seriously underrated! It's a gripping thriller that hooked me right from the first episode and kept me entertained the whole way through. Yeah, it goes into some dark and heavy stuff, but if you're cool with that, you won't be able to stop watching.
The show doesn't shy away from the gore, but it's not just for shock value-it adds this intense layer to the drama. The background story is pretty intense and gets revealed slowly, connecting to the current murder case in a way that keeps you guessing.
And can we talk about the performances? Everyone in the cast nails it. The ending is spot-on, fitting the drama perfectly, and the story moves at a great pace. The cinematography is top-notch too, especially how they handle flashbacks. Seriously, give this one a shot; it deserves way more love for its killer plot, amazing performances, and overall storytelling.

Masterpiece Korean Series! An intense thriller created on an impactful storyline of bullying in childhood. Kudos to the creators for picking up this storyline of bullying n bullying is very real n it has taken many lives n left many mentally handicapped n it exists even today for real. Starts on a very weird note n looks unpromising in the beginning but the way it evolves n unfolds is brilliant. Basically story revolves around revenge for the damage caused by bullying in childhood. The characterisation n direction gets full point. Kim Chul as a child actor leaves an unforgetful impact. There was not even one moment where it feels bored. Climax was extremely unique than any can imagine. A must watch if you like psychological thrillers. 12 episodes series Available in all major languages including Hindi. My ratings 9/10!

Oh wow okay, i finished it like 2 days ago and i cant stop thinking abou it honestly, it made me cry twice while watching and i rarely cry watching anything. You just can´t help but feel extremly bad for him. Its also the best revenge drama ive seen, i love the revenge genre and also read mangas and manhwas about it but never has it ever felt so satisfying. This show is probably now my fav kdrama with strangers from hell, i hope more people watch this underrated kdrama and talk more about it.
Also the actors are amazing?? Especially the child actors, cheolie´s actor was 12 when he filmed this, he was born in 2008 thats insane.

I was absolutely shocked while watching The King of Pigs. This drama is dark, intense, and emotionally heavy, but it brilliantly portrays the long-term effects of bullying. The way it explores childhood trauma and how it shapes a person's life is truly heartbreaking.
The story follows characters who were severely bullied as kids, showing how those scars carry into adulthood, sometimes leading to devastating consequences. It painfully highlights how a broken child can grow into a broken adult, consumed by anger and vengeance. The performances were incredible, making the emotions feel raw and real.
What's most disturbing is the cruelty of the bullies-how kids torment their classmates while adults turn a blind eye. It's sad but also a brutally honest reflection of society. The psychological depth of this drama is outstanding, making it a must-watch for those who appreciate intense thrillers with deep social commentary.
This is not an easy drama to watch, but it is definitely worth it. It leaves a lasting impact, making you think about the consequences of bullying and the unseen battles people carry with them.

I have to say that this was one of the most profound, emotionally impactful, dark and realistic dramas I've ever watched. Truth be told, I cried. I cried a lot for Cheol in particular, and first of all for Kyungmin. You know what? It's the first time in my life that I've so wholeheartedly rooted for a murderer to commit the most heinous crimes, because they deserved it. I didn't feel a single moment sorry for any of his victims, they got what they deserved. Bullying is one of the most horrific and self-destructive things, and this drama demonstrated that perfectly, to the point where you can't forget or get over it. I can confidently say that it's one of the best dramas I've ever watched, and maybe nothing will ever come along that will make me feel that way again.
It's deeper than a drama, it's reality, it's the hell of many around us, so maybe everyone should watch it.

The King of Pigs is not an easy watch-it's brutal, disturbing, and painfully real. But that's exactly why it matters.
This drama dives deep into the long-lasting scars of school bullying, social hierarchy, and systemic violence. It's a chilling psychological thriller that doesn't rely on gore or jump scares, but rather on the terrifying weight of trauma, silence, and unresolved pain. Every episode felt like a punch to the gut, especially as the characters' pasts began to unravel.
Kim dong-wook and kim sung-kyu gave such intense, raw performances. Their portrayals of broken adults shaped by childhood abuse made it impossible to look away. You're not just watching their story-you're forced to confront the systems and cruelty that created them.
What haunts me the most is how the series shows the cycle of violence: how the bullied can become the aggressor, how silence becomes complicity, and how justice doesn't always mean healing. It doesn't offer comfort, and maybe that's the point.
It's not a drama i can rewatch easily, but it's one i won't forget. The King of Pigs is a necessary story-harsh, but honest. If you're ready to face the darkness, it's worth it.
