This modern family story offers a fresh perspective on resilience and connection, following a family that, through the pain of loss, discovers that true relationships don't just survive hardship-they evolve. As they navigate the complexity of grief, each family member finds ways to support one another, reaffirming bonds that prove unbreakable. This beautifully crafted story of a modern family captures the universal experience of loss and the enduring strength of relationships. From the start, it pulls readers into the lives of each family member, showcasing their joys, fears, and struggles in a way that feels both authentic and profoundly moving. While roles within the family shift, the story reveals that their bonds remain unbroken, deepening through hardship and adapting to new realities. With moments of sorrow and celebration, it redefines family as a connection of love and memory that preserves relationships even through life's greatest challenges. This story is a heartfelt reminder that true family ties are about shared hearts, not just shared histories.
This film does capture the emotional side of the holidays. The film takes place mostly around a dinner table, and let me tell you, it's not just the food that's spilling over-it's emotions, secrets, and tension. The performances feel so real, like you're watching actual people dealing with their messy, complicated lives.
Stefanie's direction makes you feel like you're right there with them, sharing in every awkward pause and heartfelt confession. It's funny and sweet in just the right spots, but when it wants to hit you in the gut, it does-and hard. I've got to give a special shout-out to the actor who plays Tom. Even though he only has a small part, his performance left me floored.
If you're in the mood for a holiday drama that's both heartwarming and a little bit heartbreaking, this one's definitely worth a watch. Just be ready to feel everything they're putting on the table!

If you have seen Christmas Ride you might be familiar with Stefanie Davis' raw take on holidays. This time we are invited to a dinner table where more than just emotions start to spill. The cast does amazing job at delivering unfiltered performances that just make you feel like they are real people with real problems. Stefanie's direction and camera work puts you directly in the middle of this affair. It is funny, it is cute, and it knows when and how to pull on the heartstrings. Without spoiling anything, I have to give the actor playing Tom a hand of applause as his very small part deliveries the punch in the gut. Please give this holiday drama a chance but just be prepared to take what everyone is dishing out!
