Xiang Yuan, a popular game streamer is going to work for Weilin, and promises to increase the company's revenue by 10% to escape her marriage proposal's.

Li Yong Biao introduces Xiang Yuan to Xu Yan Shi, while Manager Li Qing tries to stir up trouble, announcing that Xiang is here to replace Xu's position. Xiang Yuan immediately understands Xu's difficult situation and instinctively feels the need to protect him. Li Qing brings up the issue of frequent complaints regarding inaccuracies, but Xu Yan Shi deflects the problem by citing the lack of funding for field surveys.

Xiang Yuan is questioned by her colleagues for taking leave so soon after joining the company, Xu Yan Shi proves that Xiang was working during the trip and resolves the issue. Later, Xu invites Xiang to a celebration with their old school friends. After her original hesitation, she attends, and she and Xu reminisce about their high school days. Xu wishes Xiang the best in getting what she wants.

In a flashback to their school days, Xu Yan Shi and Xiang Yuan take a bike ride and run into their friend, Feng Jun. Xiang Yuan remembers her heartbreak when, as a teenager, she invited Yan Shi to her birthday party, but he declined. At Velin, despite (or in defiance of) office politics, Xiang Yuan pushes ahead with a project for Mingxiong Electronics and encourages everyone to complete the order that evening. Her team elects to go a dinner party instead, and only Zhang Jun stays behind to help her.

Determined to straighten out the situation, Xiang Yuan tracks down Mingxiong's Huang Qiming and manipulates him into a dinner meeting. Huang Qiming insults Xu Yan Shi in various ways, mocking him as incompetent. Playing along, Xiang Yuan agrees, but this is witnessed - and recorded - by Ying Yin Yin, who is drinking at a dinner party next door. She immediately sends the video to Xu Yan Shi, who has just arrived at the same restaurant when it lands in his phone. So he's able to watch in person as Xiang Yuan bids farewell to Huang Qiming.

Xu Yan Shi and Xiang Yuan team up with Yan Shi's friend, Lao Qing, to enter an innovation competition. Yan Shi offers to let Lao Qing and Xiang Yuan keep the prize money themselves. Because of the uncertain future of Velin, though, the company has been blacklisted by the competition, so Yan Shi's team has to keep their identity secret. Xiang Yuan has to sneakily meet with Xu Yan Shi, but they are always interrupted. They finally have to meet alone under the pretext of working overtime. After learning about Xu Yan Shi's worries, Xiang Yuan offers to help. Xiang Yuan's newly created performance assessment system causes Li Chi's dissatisfaction. (Source: Viu with edits by Thorsburg)

Li Qin is being difficult over her latest performance assessment, but Xiang Yuan claims to have received approval from higher-ups. Xu Yan Shi faces oppression from Li Qin and Li Yong Biao due to his lack of background, but Xiang Yuan is unaware of this. Xiang Yuan intentionally throws up on Huang Qi Ming when he insults Xu Yan Shi even though she later apologizes to him. At a school reunion, Xiang Yuan is worried Yan Shi will be made to feel uncomfortable, but when another classmate named Zhong Ling starts to indicate an interest in him, it's Xiang Yuan who feels upset. Xu Yan Shi looks after Xiang Yuan at their school reunion, even defeating the troublesome Zhong Ling. After leaving the reunion, Xiang Yuan asks if he is truly single, and Xu Yan Shi shares his past online dating experience. At headquarters, Xiang Yuan suspects the relationship between Xu Yan Shi and Chen Shan, but Chen Shan denies it when being questioned. Former pro gamer Xiang Yuanattends a live gaming broadcast to ask a top pro and friend for some help, but becomes the center of attention for an unfortunate "open mic" moment. Xiang Yuan feels embarrassed, but Xu Yan Shi, watching the broadcast from the office, is happy about it and even invites the tech team to have dinner together.
