Very well done

An inspiring Revolutionary War tale that is based on a true story. Randall Franks, best known in acting circles as Officer Randy Goode in the series In the Heat of the Night, and in other circles as an award-winning musician and singer, shines in this short film shot in his native Georgia. He plays the lead role, that of his own real life ancestor Robert Shields, in the days leading up to the Revolutionary War. Shields, knowing that soldiers do not always return from the battlefield, pens a letter to his infant son. For Shields, it was an explanation of his values, of the importance of the liberty he and others were prepared to lay down their lives for. And for Franks, it is a love letter to his ancestor, to the triumph of liberty and freedom, and to the country he loves.
