I recognize that the plethora of paranormal series which have infected television are totally bunk. As are the nonsense about Hoax Island, the Kilchers, the Pawn Stars, and all other "reality" TV.
However, for some unknown reason, I enjoy "Haunted Collector." Oh. sure, they use the same devices whose legitimacy have not a droplet of empirical evidence. And they cut to commercial at moments of high suspense, only to result in nothing. And they even have ridiculous situations, as in Puerto Rico, where a 16th century Spanish ghost is supposed to understand Modern English.
Nonetheless, I enjoy the actors and the premise of spirits attached to objects, even though that's bunk too. Sorry it was cancelled.

I found this show very slow. John Zaffis seemed very well rehearsed and not really reacting to the situation, worse then that he was boring. I'm not saying this to be mean but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. His children, who work for him, seemed to only be there for a paycheck and his team, though I am sure they are capable, provided little. It simply was not entertaining. There was also something about the way it was either filmed or edited that left me believing it was not spontaneous. It made it hard to get the good scare you want from a supernatural reality show. I didn't believe they just found the items. It seemed like Mr. Zaffis knew what he was going in to take before he started. It didn't seem new or fresh. More like Ghost Hunters Light. All the formatting, non of the thrills. I watched the whole thing but I lost interest very fast. I don't think I'll be watching again.
This show is WAY better than the ones like Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures where the people mainly walk around in the dark and scare each other - "Oh, I felt something" or "Did you hear that".
I like Haunted Collector because they try to rule out things that give false readings, go about their investigation in a planned, organized fashion, and do both day and night investigations.
While I'm not convinced any of the items are truly haunted, at least I feel like I'm watching someone who's trying to do a professional job and not just jumping on any cheap scare they can come up with.
It may be a little dry and procedural for your typical "ghost show" viewer, but I find it far more believable.

Why do they keep making these ridiculous "ghost hunting" shows? Have any of these shows ever found any real evidence of a ghost? They instead choose to over-dramatize things that happen just off camera or that the viewer has no way of knowing if the actors really experienced the event. The "scariest" part of these programs is the music and sound effects added to give them an eerie or spooky feeling. It's also odd how none of the events described by the people who work, live in, or visit these places are ever occurring when these so-called paranormal investigators are there. More ghost shows? No thanks. ***********this is added so that it will have the minimum of ten lines of text**********
"Did you hear that" I love paranormal shows. Trying to find Bigfoot, aliens, ghosts, all these types of shows are pretty fun to watch. My main complaint with this and most of all the other ones I've watched is the same: every time I am supposed to be hearing some thing on the recording, the damn soundtrack music is playing in the background and I can't tell what the hell I'm supposed to be listening to. All the shows have way too much background Music and them. Very little actually happens in this program, and hardly anything is discovered that couldn't have been shown in a 10 minute show. I like the history aspect of it, but overall, it's pretty much a run-of-the-mill Ghosthunter program. This show, and most of the other shows like it have people running around saying "did you hear that" all the time, and I never really actually hear what the hell they're talking about.
